With that said, the song itself isn't that great. The production is just not the kind of shit you should layer Keith over. They should've at least TRIED to emulate the creepy sci-fi sound from the first Dr. Octagon project. It's hard to enjoy any of Keith's verses with that annoying, bubbly dance stuff.
The actual video is kind of interesting. I wonder why the label would bother making something so elaborate to promote what was essentially a high-production-value bootleg.

Its one of the coolest Hip Hop and Rap songs I've ever heard, and a unique one at that. The video couldn't be cooler, and going for a better cause. Dr. Octagon recorded these raps and phrases many years ago. They were not all part of one cohesive piece. The record label it was recorded on mixed them all together, gave it a beat, and here it is.

yeah man, its fake. i mean, it is really him on the track, but it was assimilated by some guys who make beats and then they took some vocal samples that he had recorded and never used and they threw together this song as well as like 4 other songs on this EP. just listen to the song and you'll be able to tell that its not a "vocal take," but more of a somewhat decent cut and paste job. its super sampled and edited. sucks, cause it could have been cool.

I actuly looked in to this stuff and found a page, some of what it said was this "The first real track of the album, Trees, is a definite highlight that gets things going on a strong note. yeah man, its fake. i mean, it is really him on the track, but it was assimilated by some guys who make beats and then they took some vocal samples that he had recorded and never used and they threw together this song as well as like 4 other songs on this EP. just listen to the song and you'll be able to tell that its not a "vocal take," but more of a somewhat decent cut and paste job. its super sampled and edited. sucks, cause it could have been cool.

The Return Of Dr Octagon, apart from being one of the most forward thinking progressive hip-hop albums to come out the U.S. in the last 5 years is completely legit and appears within the discography of his own website.
