Man, I miss this game. KHII and BbS were easy to do no damage runs on, but this one just had the right level of challenge to it.

About the fight, I usually get my combo interrupted before I ever pull off the finish, his stun frame would end before the third hit, then he would hit me before I could react. :/

Using Guard, Counterattack, 1 Combo Plus, and Blitz, you can keep him from doing anything more than the attacks you see here.

And really, he's not that hard to deal with when he powers up, either.

you got to be careful which keyblade you use such as lady luck keyblade the counter is too slow so if you use that its basicly impossible to get no damage

my cusion says it doesnt matter what keyblade you use if your intune with the weapon you can overcome any obtiscules. like me i beat the whole game on expert with only the kingdom key. got every item in the game i only died about like twice because jafar is a pussy and keeps floating in the air. but yeah.

EQUIP IT IF YOU DO! who cares if you lose 1mp it's the keyblade with the 2nd longest reach (losing to Ultima) and the 3rd highest power+str (losing to 2.Oblivion & 1.Ultima) and equip ars arcanum, it's real helpful, try to spam x then cura then spam x and repeat. Also DODGE ROLL IS YOUR FRIEND and so is his brother GUARD

you get metal chocobo when you beat cloud (seed 4) in the hercules cup

you get olympia when you beat hercules (seed 1) in the hercules cup

when you get the yellow trinity you also seal olympus colliseum's keyhole

my key setup was:

kingdom key (def)->jungle king->three wishes->pumpkinghead->metal chocobo->oblivion->ultima weapon. i know you cant have oblivion or ultima, if you don't have MC or olympia use pumpkinghead or jungle king for their reach

Yeah,I think it can go as high as 14 or something like that with acessories and a keyblade that has +2 mp.

I did that too, although it wasn't no damage challenge. But I managed to loop his attacks, only DURING his powered-up form. That's why he can't even use Dark Aura.

There is no Easy mode in the US version of Kingdom Hearts.

This is on Expert, not that it matters. I don't take any hits, and the ONLY difference between the difficulty levels is the damage enemies do; their health and their AI is exactly the same.

Yeah, Riku's special stuffs didn't happen in the video because the player/sora kept hitting him, so Riku wasn't able to do his special attacks.

If you have one Combo Plus equipped (4-hit combo, in other words), Riku reacts to your combos in the exact same way every time (he changes it up slightly at about 75% of his yellow bar). With Guard, Counterattack, Combo Plus, and Blitz, you can get him into a loop and he won't be able to use most of his attacks.

it is a hard boss.

its a solo fight and you dont have second chance at this part of the game (unless you overleveled to level 53. >_>)

That depends on the weapon you pick at the start. Shield gets Second Chance at 18, Staff at 48, and Sword at 51. One more reason the Sword is the weakest choice.

i cant do this because i started with the staff, and i dont learn the first combo plus till level 66. im level 45. theres NO WAY i can gain ELEVEN levels just to do this strategy, thats IMPOSSIBLE. i wish there was a strategy for me =/

You can't do the no damage strategy, true, but just follow the setup I give in the video info of the video response to this video and you should still have no trouble beating him. Just make sure you jump into the air when you need to cast Cure, since it's safer.

yeah, i can get him down to half green half black, and then he somehow kills me, so, i try to heal but the healing takes so long to go through from when he says heal and the actual effect. Riku shoots in there and kills me before i can heal. it sucks

Its easy. I mean, I've choose the Shield, and did it on lv 44, with no damage. Always think:

"The Stats dont matter in a no damage Battle. You gotta carefull, and should have a plan."

As for Riku, just Dodge Roll every attack, attack him from behind, and stay left beside the yellow consoles, when his does the Sinistra Aura. Thats all.

Lol, nice job. It seems that everyone uses the Olympia Keychain. Have you tried it with the Kingdom Key? It's a lot harder. When he uses Dark Aura, it's impossible to use counterattack... Pretty Damn hard. Anyway, nice vid. Keep it up.

He only did all that stuff because you LET him do it. Riku is extremely predictable and easy to control if you know what to do, that's what makes this strategy work in the first place.

Don't knock it just because you don't understand what's going on. I've got my entire setup posted in the video info of my other video. Try the strategy out yourself and see how it works.

Because he couldn't.

After a 4-hit combo, he's programmed to do a specific attack (or pair of attacks, after you've taken enough health off him). These counterattacks take priority over all other attacks (he'll ALWAYS do them after the combo, in other words), so you can get him into a loop and make him unable to do any other attack.

Olympia. It's the best keychain you can get at this point (yes, better than Metal Chocobo, thanks to its critical hits and crit rate) You get it by beating the Hercules Cup.
