the "egg-shaped" shoes are actually just like regular platform stilettos (which yes are hard to walk in as it is). The exterior is just added material to form the odd, yet beautifully crafted shape (egg-shape). They are not like the Christian louboutins that beyonce has been seen to wear in her videos and in press, which were actually designed to be worn, walking en-point like a dancer.

There are two divisions of fashion in the fashion world. One is ready-to-wear and the other is haute couture (i.e. High fashion). What you see here is a blend of both where the boundaries of what is ready-to-wear and what isn't are blurred. Those shoes are aimed to be "stylish" but rather aims to be anti-stylish. McQueen was not the kind of designer whose goal was to be stylish. And that is the reason why those shoes are amazing.

I don't think you're actually supposed to where how the outfit's are STYLED in the show. The shoes/hair were all for show. The dresses/leather pieces can be really normal looking and wearable if you pair them with basics.

I totally agree. The purpose of this is to show off the dresses, those hair styles, shoes, make-up, etc., are all for the show. That's what fashion is all about, going beyond border lines, creativity, uniqueness. It's an art. But anyway, those dresses are very aesthetic and like L4z1n3ss said, you can pair it with basics. Anyone with good style knows the rules to fashion. ;)
