  • I'm trying ti find Ron Hood's Survival Basics', but it appears to have been deleted. Where can I find the full video, anyone?

  • took forever to get to the actuall video

  • Sorry if i insult any one that is not my goal here, but i feel that learning this stuff is a big waste of time. OFC it is fun to see an do but if you are in a situation where you need to resort to ''primitive'' tools or weapons you don't need to know any of this. All you need is common sense. how you think people came up with this stuff in the first place.... try using your own brain instead of others, think of your own solutions, it makes you smarter more independent an more confident.

  • What knife is the large one; where can i get it and what would the price range be?

  • thats not a knife this is a knife 5:20

  • you wouldn't need a grinder... an unmodified sawblade can be thrown to cause just about as much damage

  • Rest In Peace Ron Hood. 1944-2011. You are a legend. You will be greatly missed.

  • 1:46 yeah thats gonna getcha laid

  • Hey, what is that big knife he has that looks like a mini machete? thanks!

  • Really cool videos. I don't know much about camping and the related, so this really helps. Thanks for the information.

  • Who doesn't like throwing sharp objects? Coo video, nicely edited!!

  • why did native americans have to fall and still get badly treated IT SUX NATIVE AMRERICANS FTW!

  • Good video, but what the hell was that you ate? looked like a leech!! BLECH*

  • If this is a Chakram, then you stole the idea from the Indians. Then you tried to prevent everybody else from using the idea while uploading it to internet. I m confused. Were you trying to make money out of this?

  • @sok8888

You need to lay off the drugs. This is education, similar to what happens in the schools you never attended. How confusing is it to understand that we have 28 videos for sale and they cover thousands of years of skills belonging to all of us. No different than a survival or history book that you buy. But then you don't buy books I'd bet. In fact I doubt you even have a job.

  • @Slamaxe Then this is not educational as you claimed. This is free advertising for you and you are just taking advantage of YouTube, which I don't mind. But don't call it sweet when it stinks like shit.

  • @sok8888

If you don't mind it, why are you complaining? I think I'm done with you.

  • @sok8888 What if he's making money of this? i couldn't be more grateful to this guy for being so nice and uploading survival knowledge for FREE for us to learn. You should be grateful too, so say "thank you" or go watch some justin bieber vids.

  • @Slamaxe I don't have a job right now, however I do have more sense than to resort to PRIMITIVE, unfounded, and blatantly presumptuous insults on another's intelligence in an attempt to forgo any obligation to respond rationally. Logic seems to be of little consequence whilst you are here.

I've watched you make a fool of yourself. You have no tact. You are a baboon.

  • I need to buy this video, just awesome!

  • isnt a chakram a shaolin weapon which does not look like that, apologies if this is not the case.

  • click 5 and on top of the stick wfooOoOoOo

  • I didn't actually think this would be as effective as you've demonstrated it to be.

Also, chakra. KAGE BUNSHIN NO JUTSU

  • What is enlightenment?Want to really wake up from the lies?intuition, healing powers, it is all part of human nature.Search no more, THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM is the end of the road.

  • @RoseannStewart I don't want to reach "the end of the road" while I still draw breath.

  • Curved throwing stick. Used for rap around technique. I know how to do this. Hits the tree rapps around hits back of the tree killing whatever is there. Hence you just got squirrel for lunch. But I don't want to make a video on it because then everybody would be using it. Who knows could loose populations of squirrels.

  • i like his kinfe O.O

  • awwwsomeeeeee

  • You're much better than that Dave Canterbury guy

  • I was in the Army with a John Hood. Could have sworn that I met you guys back in the 80's, but maybe not. Anyway, I love your videos! I'm a wilderness survival fan.

  • i like this chakra axe idea, that would make a good weapon...but i cant steal the info..great, now i can never make a chakra axe....and im doomed to know of it....

  • dont steal this info? dont give it if your not giving it;)

  • @longfootbuddy I think you misunderstood. Use it if ya like it but some folks are copying the ideas and then claiming them as their own. This is just a modern example of an old technique.

As for the credits folks.. You are right. I plan to up date this after we get the next issue of the magazine out... I hope! I plan to post more videos too. Thane for watching

  • @Slamaxe but these thingys have been around for years no ones stealing your knowledge I don't understand

  • too much fuckin credits...I left before it started, IF it ever started

  • @d00by2 oh too many credits my extremely short attention span wont allow me to focus for more than thirty seconds unless something exciting is happening. u r sofa king retarded

  • that knife is fuckin awesome!

  • Chakra comes from the wheels of the waring tribes around the Nile in Africa in Ancient times. The Chakras are the energy centers of the body (7 major or 21 minor), its pronounced Chuck Run (there is no Sh in Sanskrit Text).

    Great video by the way.

  • 2:00 intro too long

  • ur not prmitiuve

  • @ibrahim71 obviously you are with that rare form of ancient spelling

  • intro was way too long! but cool anyways

  • its chakram not chakra but very nice weapon

  • I think you got the word wrong I think you ment Chakram. The Chakra is not a weapon but more a center of being.

    Cheers

  • @teb0atoz

You are right! I was hoping no one would notice because I made the mistake so long ago... almost before the internet! When we did the video I was thinking of the seven vortices of the Chakra and the whorls of the wheel of energy... and somehow in my befuddled mind I chose to use that word... too many whorls and too much energy.

    I stand corrected.

    And thanks!

    Ron

  • hello how long it take to make

  • lol 6:50 is wood sex

  • what multitool and knife are you using also am goin 2 make 1 of these with my dad the axe part loks fun and cool to use

  • I was curious about your survival knife. I havn't seen much on the Tonto style knife as a survival knife and just wanted to here what you have to say about it.

  • whats the tanto knife you used called?

  • Man, if you were a professional frisbee thrower you would keep yourself well fed.

  • hello I like you, especially when eaten with the snail !!!!!! I too feel I know you, hello

ciao mi sei simpatico specialmente quando ai gustato la lumaca !!!!!! lo sai ci voglio provare anchio , ciao

    saluti dell'italia

  • @bulichi... I suspect you aren't very bright. I hope you don't reproduce.

  • @Slamaxe hahahaha good one im sure he wont in his lifetime! :)

  • @bulichi just because you know how to survive out in the wild it doesn't make you a redneck, now surviving is really an art, and by the looks of it Ron's probably a master at it.

Really, look and listen to what he has to say, one day you might wind up in the middle of the wilderness and then you might understand the value of these old surviving-skills!

  • @bulichi how is he a idiot u are and how is makeing a redneck mean ur stupid well heres somehinh is that a northreners r ignorant

  • @bulichi i second that, but dont worry i am sure that if or when you do reproduce it will be with one as dumb as yourself and your children wont have the propper genetics to last very long.

  • man, thats a nice knife you got you there

  • People can get some nasty parasites that can ravage their bodies from eating raw snails, raw plants, and other uncooked things found in nature.

Nature is crawling with parasites: vibrio, flesh eating bacteria, round worm, and the list can go on.

That is why careful people boil their water and COOK their food.

  • I want to see him eat another insect.

  • Its comforting you would never have to use any of these against another human. The sight of you swallowing escargo on the hoof would be enough to scare just about anybody off!

About the chakra-axe though, do you run into problems with the blade cutting into the binding cords while chopping?

Also, I believe they make smooth cutting discs for circular saws that dont have teeth. One of those might save having to grind it down.

  • Good idea bout those blades... I'll have to check that out. The only ones I know about are the carbide tile cutters but there might be others.

This is only a temporary tool so cutting the cords is not a big deal although I haven't had much trouble with it. Thanks for asking!

  • brilliant

  • pretty good, would be a nice show on discovery or history channel

  • Mighty fine knife you got there.

  • I would like to make a crossbow device that could shoot a chakra. Any advice?

  • make a crossbow that works on the same basis as a slingshot, put a wide piece of metel (or something that doesnt easiely cut) in the middle and then it would work the same basic funtions

  • thanks rsviderpkk1ng !

  • Great vid Ron! The wife did a fine job running the camera!

  • @bowmasterpigo13 Oops! I am so sorry! Accidentally clicked that "thumbs down" button whilst I was reading and I cannot reverse it! It should be reversible! I have seen this happen, often on YouTube!
