  • @watson800 hey, don't worry about it I wasn't mad, I was just like...okay? Haha no problems here! But thanks for replying your awesome.

  • Love this sketch. They get L&H down perfectly, and it's takes a bit of the methane out of an overinflated movie . . .

  • @watson800-i hope you are not talking to me, because I never said anything about gays. I love Laurel and Hardy, and I thought Brokeback mountain was a well made film, but if you combine the two, I'm sorry but that's just dumb. No gay bashing here, this skit is just a bad joke and I'm bashing that.

  • @Kingdragyn18 Sorry about that. No, I wasn't talking to you. I just got kind of pissed off by the whole Anglophobia and homophobia of the previous comments. But yeah, thinking back on it now, this sketch doesn't do Harry and Paul any justice. The Peter Serafinowicz version is way funnier. Feels like actually watching Laurel and Hardy strangely enough. But yeah, sorry about that.

  • NOT FUNNY, screw you for messing with LAUREL AND HARDY.

  • @Kingdragyn18 Its just comedy and anyway, its funny

  • Don't take it so seriously,it is only playing with cinematic history an genres, placing it in a contemporary time. After all it is only comedy!!

If you do not like it fare enough,I think it is clever and funny, only my opinion!!

  • @MrSPENCER5150 absolutely true

  • Comment removed

  • The comments posted about this really funny sketch say allot!!

  • I think this is actually more parody of the Brokeback Mountain than of Laurel & Hardy, they've just chosen to make it to look all more ridiculous having two guys getting it on and succeeding very well at that.

  • The funny thing about this sketch is the very fact that it makes Homosexuality look embarrassing and to be frank as a 28 year old where it has been since the 80's thanks to many musicians and evening tv stars on prime time television is now Fashionable to be gay! Yet as we know Homosexuality among men usually turns into Paedophillia which after nearly 40 years has been covered up! Laurel and hardy were of a generation when it was illegal and thus should have remained so!!!

  • As much as I like Paul whitehouse, He and Harry Enfield aren't fit to wipe the Boots of Laurel and Hardy. Will their Comedy last into the next century? I don't think so.

  • hhahahah love this sketch so much

  • @dougster94 me to

  • Saw this last night on dave when u switched the channel at the 'anal' part and actually thought to myself "can't remember this part in the box set lolz

  • how dare you even go near the calibur of s&t with this really sick shit! NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!BAD TASTE!!!

  • I'm rather surprised by this sketch! I didn't think it was funny at all

  • ...desperate has-beens - so sad....

  • It's about time you lot got a sense of humour ;) Parody is one of the oldest forms of comedic address get over it :)

  • i love when people say "we" kicked their arse when

    a. was before "we" were born so theres no "we" nubnuts

    b. they clearly couldnt kick the average british girls ass

    c. the victor writes the history books, actually look up what Britain was dealing with at the time - uprisings in India and parts of africa and the very real threat from the French, and yet they still sent troops in to America, REALISTICALLY it was either take America or keep thier empire.

  • Ah yes, no finer sight than two great comedians being made fun of by two poor ones.

  • @fodsaks No surprise coming from an 80 year old

  • @comfy1 Sorry... Who's 80?

  • @fodsaks 2 days to reply, I rest my case.

  • @comfy1 I'm sorry, I still don't understand what on earth you're talking about? You're implying that I am 80?

  • thumbs up if you think that he might be a queer!

  • lolololololol my last name's hardy. :)

  • that was funny

  • I'm a life long L & H fan, and this didnt bother me at all. You either find it funny or not. Whats all the pointless arguing? I wish YouTube removed the ability to comment.

  • not even really that funny, but as a big L&H fan... at least they are being introduced to a new audience... hope the youth gets it enough to check out the real comedy.

  • Made me chuckle.... Ta Davey.

  • I'm a Die Hard Laurel and Hardy Fan but this just calling Laurel and Hardy homo sexual. Not funny. L&H=Humor. Not this.

  • @jiledenie04 No, I don't think it's calling L and H homosexual at all. It's a spoof and showing what Brokeback Mountain would have been like if L and H had played the leads!

  • @julieannu

have to tell you... Stan and Ollie would not have thought this was funny... and actually... it wasn't... english comedy has come nowhere since python and the goon show.

  • @kingarthurup Do some research before you make such an unqualified comment

  • @comfy1

    LOL...

I have forgotten more about real comedy and Laurel and Hardy than you will ever know you koolaid drinking homosexual obama voting butt cheese.

LOL... no no silly libtard lessons are for butt cheese!

  • @kingarthurup It works everytime, baited and hooked and by the way I'm from the good old U of K so I wouldn't been voting for Obama. I suggest you take some blood pressure pills and calm down LOL

  • @comfy1

I knew you were a brit, it is on your channel libtard... and as far as calling you a koolaid drinking homosexual obama voting butt cheese, this is an insult that spans the Atlantic.

It is my way of saying that you would have voted for Odumba had you not been demonstrating in the streets.

    You are a libtard.

  • @comfy1

iT IS CLEAR THAT YOU ARE RETARDED IF YOU THINK ARTHUR DOESN'T DO RESEARCH! STAN WAS VERY OUTSPOKEN ABOUT OFF COLOR COMEDY RETARD.

    ROTFLMAO

  • @comfy1

LOL unless I am speaking to you RETARD RETARD!

  • @comfy1

Some retards are so retarded that they deserve to be called retard retard.

  • @comfy1

ps You say that RETARD was used twice in one sentence. Don't you use punctuation marks as the end of sentences in the United Kingdom?... It is called English...lol.

but I like tony's explanation better RETARD RETARD!

  • @corky1

Yes, it was phrased corectly retard retard.

ps, your homosesual fantasies are very cute in a retard retard type of way.

    LOL

  • @kingdickup I will leave you two RETARDS to your RETARDED youtube world of bliss.

    LOL

  • @kingarthurup

YEAH!... WHY DO WE KEEP PULLING THEIR ASSES OUT OF THE FIRE AFTER WE HAD TO KICK IT IN 1776???

LOL--- (I HEARD THE BRITS ARE REALLY GOOD AT RIOTS AND SLAP FIGHITING THE FRENCH THOUGH!)

LOL....wow... you really got me there!

you libtarded koolaid swilling odumba supporting butt cheese!

    Best wishes!

  • Bit wrong but painfully funny! For those who think it's an insult to L & H then stop reading into things that much- it's a simple cross generational combination to knock out a quick laugh. Plus have you noticed all American humour these days is just shock value? At least in England we still know how to make trully funny comedy: Harry an Paul Rule!!

  • Americans make me laugh. You people are a disgrace to your own backwards country. You self-righteous bastards.

  • Fuck off sb12345999 they are two of the best comedians it's humour you soppy little cunt

  • if u dont like this then u have no humour

  • Disrespectful to two great comedians.....done by two bad 'comedians'

  • Y'know Ollie, I've been watchin' you! And I know you been watchin' me! You're watchin' me, I know! Ollie my friend, how would you...

  • This silent film redux is surprisingly funny, mainly because it has butt fucking.

  • Love this sketch -- very funny in itself and it gives a proper taking down to a rather over-inflated movie. And it doesn't besmirch L&H in the slightest . . .

  • loooooooooool!!!!!!

  • And the people commenting that L&H films were homoerotic or that they would laugh if they saw this are completely wrong.

  • If I felt that I needed to write and perform a L&H parody that was both blatantly disrespectful and poorly executed, then I would at least go to the trouble of devising a half-way clever premise. This is a two-and-a-half minute gay joke that substitutes shock value for comedy, and apparently fools many people in doing so.

I still like Paul Whitehouse, but I have now lost a lot of respect for him.

  • I don't think it's the sheer juvenile stupidity of the concept -- surely one of the easiest and cheapest ideas they could have possibly done -- but rather the complete lack of understanding of how L&H's comedy actually worked that bothers me. The mannerisms and timing were off, the filming style was completely inaccurate, the one reference to an actual film of theirs is from something made several years after silents ceased to exist, and so on.

  • Oh the wives.. lol !!!!!!!!!!

  • funny as Hell, and FTR I loved the Movie BBMtn.

  • this is bullshit

  • terrible

  • it's just wrong

  • You know it's okay to be gay, don't you?

  • @SASR no I did not, because in my country we are publically executed for being gay.

  • I see you've mastered sarcasm at least. You're too clever for me!

  • @kavan8tor what? The UK?

  • what? The UK?

    make some sense u retard.

I was being sarcastic, SASR got it.

  • @kavan8tor Yeah, my comment was quite retarded, even I have no idea what I'm on about now.

  • they're not getting at L & H being gay for real. its just funny trying to do a L&H adaptation of a film about gay cowboys. theres no more reading into it.. jesus christ people get a grip! enjoy it for what it is. or go find something else to do with ur time...

  • grope back mountain will never be the same to me again, the poms have always been better pooftas than the gay yanks.

  • i prefer 'broke-butt mountain' ...but this comes a close second in sheer hilarity!

  • hey yank go find a country to bomb

  • @hodabs

YEAH?.... WHY DON'T YOU GO FIND A RETIREMENT AGE AND A MUSLIM ASS TO KISS!

  • HRMOKeefe: If you think the Brits are so awful, perhaps you should stop using their language when trolling on YouTube.

  • i think your missing the point here.

  • I think you have missed the point of the film. Also I believe that Cigarettes are a french invention.

  • @AustinMini1963- so true! ciggies are french cigar-ettes! female cigars basically

  • @HRMOKokslop It really is no surprise that half the world, maybe more has such a dislike for America when you have no give and take

  • @rabthe45bravo Their language? i though it was universal, americunts and ausifags, indians and almoust the rest of the world uses it too.

  • And I agree with a poster who said the BBC will not show L&H because of "non-pc" scenes and themes. Their willingness to show this against them truly stinks, and reveals their hypocrisies. How non-pc and offensive can you get?

  • L & H were NEVER about homosexuality. Sharing a bed was about the poverty of their time. They were invariably in hotel rooms/digs or whatever they could afford in their situation. In the 70's, on bank courses in London, you were sometimes sharing the same double bed as someone else - because the bank were too tight to pay for separate ones. Times have changed, but sex has to enter into everything. I love the comedy of Harry Enfield, and the Fast Show, but this is no tribute to L & H.

  • My only complaint is that Stan's hat is all wrong. Couldn't they find a genuine bowler is all of Britain?

  • Brilliant and well done! You have hit on the essence of Laurel and Hardy's humor. It was always homoerotic in that they were usually in some domestic situation, often in bed, albeit fully clothed. Hardy's "wife" was always complaining about the time he spent with Laurel. In those days, it was funny; nowadays, it's political.

  • That was Hilarious! Especially when Ollie got stuck inside Stan. That was so Very Very Wrong! Always love a good sick twisted Comedy. Perversions always make for Great Humor.

  • @CMKetchum How about when he got out? With the popping sound & all?

  • Brilliant! I love Paul Whitehouse, he´s the best actor in the world (greetings from Finland!).

And of course this is a tribute to Laurel&Hardy, don´t let the homofobics spoil it. Laurel&Hardy has always been a gay icon, you´d be a fool if you don´t realize what they´re representing. Nice catch Enfield&Whitehouse, combining a modern classic Brokeback Mountain with the old classic, Laurel&Hardy. And with a laugh. Thanks!

  • erittäin hyvin sanottu siellä perällä

  • i too think it laurel and hardy could have seen this then they too would have laughed.

2 different types of comedy merged by 2 of the greatest double acts. :)

  • put it this way, would laurel and hardy have laughed at this is they could have seen it?

i think yes. and for that reason, its comedy. lighten up and laugh.

  • i'm all for pushing boundaries but this is so shit it defies belief. if you're going to send someone up, the idea is to be funnier than them, not less. a cheap shot.

  • 14 and already an old git

  • Priceless!

  • Lighten up fuckwad and get a sense of humour. This is without a doubt the funniest thing I have ever seen. The way they are stuck together like two dogs rooting then that "pop"as his dick comes out is priceless.

  • i got a sense of humor,if i didn't i would probbly find this funny

  • made me laugh but original better

  • This is hysterical! I haven't laughed so hard at anything in a very long time!

  • OMFG! Is nothing sacred??? LOL!

  • Hehe, this was very amusing, moreso after reading all the comments left by the homophobes and excessively devoted Laurel & Hardy fans.

  • i don't think this sketch does any more of a service to gays than it does to laurel and hardy to be honest.

  • 2:10 LMFAO!!!

  • nothing like as funny as their version of the original 'basic instinct' with margaret rutherford in the leading role!

  • i covered up my face at most of it. those of you who said theyd prolly never watched ollie and stan are prolly wrong tho cos i seen they had added some of their mannerisms in.

also, when ollie dipped stan it kind of reminded me of when stan kissed ollie in march of the wooden soldiers.

of course im sure they never would have done anything like THIS.

  • This video is a disgrace. Make fun of your mothers.

  • hahahahahaha

  • it could happen.....

  • i love harry and paul but this aint funny.. its just takin the mick out of the two people that ade comedy

  • This is far from being the best harry and paul sketch. However I don't think they made this sketch to humiliate laurel and hardy - they were just making parody of it, that's all. It is relatively funny compared to some of the stuff that you find on BBC three nowadays that's for sure.

  • its not a sideswipe at past comedy legends. Its not really funny but the concept is great. Not everything comedians do work but it'd be a sad day if they stopped trying anything a bit different, risky or potentially offensive

  • this is the kind of thing i'd expect from shitty little britain, not these two

  • Hate to tell you but Stan Laurel was British ;)

  • how is that relevant?

  • I'm making the point that Stan Laurel came from 'shitty little Britain' as you put it. It's humorous on various levels. Comparing the sanitised pap turned out by modern. Hollywood to the innocence of Laurel and Hardy. Poking fun at the fact that they used to share a bed and it's making some of you feel uncomfortable about homosexuality. I'm sure in the 1930's people objected to Stan Laurel dressing as a woman and his knickers falling down or the scene where they get the wife of the judge drunk.

  • thanks for the lecture but i was talking about little britain, the shitty sketch show, nothin to do with stan laurel being from uk. or anything else you mentioned in your essay.

  • Perhaps it would help if you used capital letters for the name of a TV programme? Or, failing that, make it clear you are referring to a TV show. I'm not a mind reader ;)

  • no you're not. ok here's the conclusion.. jump to it!

  • That's wrong in every sense.

  • I can appreciate that some people find this disrespectful to two comedians whose work will live on long after Enfield has been forgotten. Indeed, I find it a bit unpleasant myself.

However, the main point here is this: that sketch simply isn't funny.

Harry Enfield used to be excellent. Now I think he's washed up and, in my opinion, this clip confirms that.

  • Agreed compared to the fast show, and harry enfield and chums, this is rubbish.

  • Absolutely shameful. I appreciate iconclasts, but this is not even humorous but a lazy form of contempt for past masters.

  • That's gross, honestly...a bit too far...the one thing I find funny is the stupid look on Stan's face as Hardy humps him. XD

  • How is it disrespectful?? Its only a bit of fun, god i hate it when people take these things too seriously. Political Correctness gone wrong! Its funny, end of! Paul Whitehouse is histerical haha! Just his face makes me laugh :)

  • This is typical of the bbc, which is run by a bunch of left wing pathetic liberal wankers. To allow this so called humour to go on air, and yet they never ever show those classic shorts from the 1930's by the boys.

  • I agree with you.I hate this.

  • I agree, smilerbwfc.

  • I saw this on TV. I couldnt help laughing, but it is a bit disrespectful. I spose its taking the mick out of two different things, really.

    Funny

  • I am as big of a laurel and hardy as you can get and I thought this was hysterical. I think they would too

  • HAHAHA, i totally agree with you man, it aint disrespectul, if theres anyone from the 19th century who could take a joke i reckon it would be them

  • Yeah, these two should have been sued for doing something like this to the name Laurel& Hardy.

    It is just very disrespectful.

  • I'm sure that the boys would have found this funny themeselves - unlike you they had a sense of humour...

  • Bastards.

  • Absolutely urine funny! I rate this beyond funny! It's awesome.

  • That is definatley one of the worst things I have seen in my life. I could only watch 2 mins of it. Why would they want to do that to Laurel and Hardy? Who ever told these men that they are funny are sorely mistaken. They need to get a job that they are fit for, shoveling horse manure.

  • Cheap, tasteless and not at all funny.

  • The worrying thing is that SOMEONE at the BBC must think this is funny.

  • I think it's fair to say that Paul and Harry have run out of ideas now

This is an insult to Laurel And Hardy

  • I thought it was brilliant... I can`t stop laughing, Whitehouse & Enfield are both fantasic!!!

  • whitehouse & enfield scraping the barrel! how can this shit get on tv nevermind youtube? there will be a time when they'll be forgotten but stan and ollie? NEVER!!

  • I agree with all you guys.

This just pissed me off as I was watching it.

    Utter shit.

  • I pride myself on having a loopy sense of humour, but that is just NOT funny; if anything, it is an insult to two of the greatest comics we have ever seen. YouTube should ban this trash: Enfield and Whitehouse have plummeted to new depths in my estimation.

  • pitiful

  • Utter shite, two has-beens(yeah i liked them twenty years ago)trying to shock to make up for the fact they cant write a decent comedy sketch.Just really, really poor!

  • I'm disappointed. I grew up watching Harry and Paul, and they did have their funny moments. But even when I was 14, I can safely say I would have deemed this crude, school-boy humour. The concept could have been potentially executed humourously with a little subtlety, but such is sadly absent here.

  • That was disgusting and an insult to the memory of Laurel and Hardy. Stan and Babe would not be pleased!

  • I just can't fathom how anybody with a sense of humour can find this funny. I admit that my opinion may be linked to my deep love for the work of the late Mr. Laurel and Mr. Hardy, but nonetheless the hat joke was the only thing that even bordered on slightly funny. I viewed past comments and almost spat at the computer screen whenever I saw a comment saying that this is hilarious. Laurel and Hardy were innocent geniuses; their memory should not be pissed on like this.

  • i agree!

  • Pure Shite

  • I'm a great fan of a lot of comedy from Harry and Paul but this is just shit. I'm also a Laurel & Hardy fan so I'm probably a little biased.

  • Correction DONKAMERO.

  • This is a disgrace to Laurel & Hardy. DORKAMERO is gay for uploading.

  • Its sad how far humor has gone...Keep it classy folks, like Laurel and Hardy. A simple Stan-like cry or Hardy's tie wiggle is hilarious enough whether its 1930 or 2007.
