I saw this band in Stockholm like six years ago and been a fan since then, but their records are kinda impossible to find.
They started as a heavy metal band in the veins of Judas Priest, Accept but then started to play more soft glam rock. I have nothing against Europe or anything but it's kinda annonying that alot of the good hard rock and heavy metal bands back then had to give up their ideals and play what the fucking radio stations or record companies wanted, who also owns the rights!
immitators of EUROPE!!!!!!!!!!! fag,,,,this band is so much better than europe for me,,listen the album eye to eye,,it's one of the best hard rock album everrrrrrrr
Just wanted to thank you for posting this (at least by now). I saw it´s the only video you´ve posted, so thanks for taking your time on posting. Best wishes from Spain.
satt med jocke & hans tjej sångaren i en skräddar shop i bangkok 1989 satt med walkman och lyssnade på denna platta och fattade efter dom gått att det va sångarna i 220 volt ... kanon platta
god i love this song.had it once on tape but i lost it.ive been searching for this cd for ages but i cant find it.please can someone help me.where can i get it?im from finland i was in sweden 2 days ago but it was nowhere to be found.PLEASE HELP!!!
I saw this video here when it came up (like 2,5 years ago) and I bought "Eye To Eye" in something like 3 days because of this song. I love 220 Volt (not just for this particular song).
I had paid a lot and waited for a long time to find this on CD.After a trip abroad I cannot find it in my belongings as some of them where never recovered from around Holland...I remember this green sleeved CD very clearly .I loved every song on it.I wish that somebody could post them here...Miss them very much and remind me of one of my best periods in life.
One of the best melodic rock releases ever....I love this cd! 'Money Talks', 'The Harder They Come',and the super ballad 'Love is All You Need' are my personal faves
To be true, taking my share of the game Behind it I'm one and the same I'm letting it all unwind I will live my life like I want to Live and love like I planned to To make it all worthwhile Love is all you need Solo So long broken dreams, I go my way My way alone and then I may Show you just what I mean Love is all you need
Nunca vi el video clip, pero rayé con esta canción en el verano de 1990 y no la he podido olvidar nunca más, aunque hacían 18 años que no la escuchaba ! ! !
What is sad is that "Eye To Eye" was a wasted release for these guys. It's the most underrated release ever - and if those idiots at the label had really stood behind the band and pushed this one - 220 Volt could have been freaking HUGE in America.
This is one of the few records where I actually LOVE ever single song on it. I like great Commercial Hard Rock, and this CD is simply incredible. Too bad it's out of print.
Europe was great, and 220 Volt was pushed to be commercial like them. But 220 Volt were great on all levels-great songwriting, playing, hooks, and attitude. It could be that the fact I know Mats Karlsson personally that I'm biased-ha! I think that there was room for all the Swedish bands to try their hand at commercial success after Europe. Almost every band from Sweden around that time gives full credit to Europe for opening the doors for other bands to try to break through internationaly.
@buhovo They are not imitators of Europe. Hair Metal was the thing at the time. They jumped the train, as did Europe. Actually 220 Volt were both formed (1979) and released their debut album (1983) the same years as Europe.
The record company tried to turn them into Europe on this album.Even on this syrupy ballad their talent still shone thru Eye to Eye was a very polished album but still much better than most bands trying this formula.

Couldn;t have Yngve Malmsteen try to help this band back in the 80s?

Love Is All You Need
(M.Karlsson / P.Olander / P.Hermansson / M.Larsson / J.Lundholm)
I'm a man, with feelings I never have shown
Who tried to succeed on my own
How could I be so blind?
So long broken dreams, I go my way
My way alone and then I may
Show you just what I mean
Love is all you need
