  • they are not all dead only a minority is still alive as they are in captivity & they were last seen in the atlas mountains in morocco were they are known to be originated from

  • look at that mofo

  • Fuck Morocco

  • Could possibly have strong blood

  • This Lion is built a bit like a Tiger, with the arching spine, rather than just a straight back spine like most KINGS have!

  • who will win if this lagendary barbary lion face off against the tsavo maneless lion

  • i thought a male barbary lion have a huge mane that go all the way to its stomach?

  • @Sparta861 This isn't a Barbary (Barbarian) Lion no hair is on its belly and it's mane isn't dark enough and it's too small. The Barbary is extinct. There may be sone lions with dna strands but the pure untainted King line is extinct.

  • That ain't no Barbary. The mane should covered to its dick

  • @AnimalKingdom500 they will extint again. arabs dont care about nature. they also extinted the desert leapord here in israel

  • @yanivporzanski so jews do care about nature eh fuck face?

  • Fuck you ass whole you have to say Palestinian Lions who will eat all your fake dirty asses and pussies soon wanka hahahhahahahhahha Fuck you and fuck those who gonna talk for you too. !Shit on you !

  • ethiopian lions have hair under their belly. type ethiopian lion in addis

  • I thought barbary lions had the mane going along their bellys

  • he is a barbary

  • @IBroLLyISePhIrOtH Too small and no hair on his belly.

  • @BarbarianLion

2 small??? that thing is almost 11 feet and 550lbs

  • @IBroLLyISePhIrOtH Yeah that's big but a Barbary Lion is thicker built. That maybe a younger one they were on par with Tigers but over 3 times stronger ( the original ones)

  • @BarbarianLion

Mmm a full grown male Siberian tiger is the biggest cat in the world , google.

  • @IBroLLyISePhIrOtH Of course but the original babary lion was wayyyy stronger. These lions today are not like the Lions of old. To much human contact has weakened them

  • @BarbarianLion mmm how big is a barbary lion?

  • @IBroLLyISePhIrOtH I don't know about the original (none of us do) we weren't even thought of, but they were bult wayy thicker than African Lions. I guess it varies I been tryng to look for consistent numbers but they all say they are bigger indeed than African Lions but none are dead on.

  • @BarbarianLion

Thanks for share this info dude.

I love bigcats , tigers , lions etc.

Send me a friend request dude and thanks again ;)

  • i thought these were extinct wtf

  • I agree with manolo that it is not a barbarian lion I dont see belly mane

  • @Jorgeneto59 This isn't a Barbary (Barbarian) Lion; it's too small.

  • even this huge male lion is not barbary lion ,

barbary lion more bigger than this

  • dam they big as fuqk

  • dan they big as fuqk

  • a real barbary lion has its mane extended to its belly

  • Aslan!

  • The Barbary lion has quite a distinct face, very different to other lions

  • Moroccan strength

  • @ThaOneChrisJONES

    NOT LION MADE MAGHREB ...

  • @kambe1520 your wrong, a tiger is much bigger and stronger then lion

  • This could infact be a Barbary Lion, apparently they are closely related to the Asiatic Lions and like the Asiatics they have a flap on their belly ( which should be covered by a mane ). But this guy looks bigger then an African Lion and has more mane then an Asiatic, so this could be an actual Barbary Lion.

  • people wo vote on the top comments are obliuos lion fans , the are great animals but a Siberian Tiger is the stringest big cat 100% fackt so sorry guys.

i like al cats, but you must ghet the fackts straicht Sibiran/Anur Tigers are the strongest

  • @Ni83co strongest doesn't mean that they would win in a fight, I do believe a Siberian tiger would beat any lion if a fair fight occurred but it's not all about strength, also lions hunt in prides whereas tigers are solitary so the lions would win on that count, but the tiger would run or more likely walk away after checking the odds as it would't have been seen, so a fight would probably not occur.

  • @lforsdyke no big cat on the planet can beat a fully grown adult male lion in a fight because that is what they do male lions are built for combat. not hunting combat all a male lion does is protect its territory from other lions and other predators. a female lion may lose to a bigger or stronger cat like a tiger or jaguar but nothing and no body fucks with a male lion

  • this is not a barbary lion. barbary lions are exctinct. this is fact. there are only a few african/barbary lion crossbreeds left in some zoos. anyway, barbary lions are much exaggerated. experts say barbary lion weight and size can be compared to the african lions.

a average male bengal / siberian tiger is bigger and heavier than this one. a tiger could bring him down easily. no doubt, lions are not so tough as many people say.

  • @whitehollow1 dude it extinct in the wild

  • thumb up if you think barbary lion stronger than normal lion

  • damn.. u cud see those muscles erupting out of those limbs..

  • Thats no Barbary but hes definitely a big guy. Id say hes 550+ Lbs maybe 600.

  • ASLAN.

  • @Zavfir73 soo true. If he cld talk tho

  • is this the berber lion ( atlas lion) ??

  • @taouiri yes :)

  • @kineguide

then why r u saying BARBARY lion??? say BERBER lion cuz theres people called the berber people in north west africa

  • @peleth No its a African subspecies of lions they ruled africa until nearly becoming extinct in the wild they were hunted and shot down on sight they truly are the reason lions were crowned king of the jungle they were actually around the same size as a Tiger now imagine if they were still roaming in the wild today...!

  • Comment removed

  • @whitehollow1 This might be a Barbary Lion. Barbary Lions are only extinct in the wild. There are numerous & confirmed reports of captive Barbary Lions; most of them in Europe (like in the Port Lympe Zoo).

  • @whitehollow1 Also, though it is theorized that Barbary Lions might be similar in size to African Lions, there is not much proof to confirm this. And actually I read a report on past Barbary Lion weight records and based on a (limited) number of Lions they found a specimen that weighed 600 lbs. & a several others that were b/w 500 to 550 lbs; all being hunted down Barbary Lions. Again this was on a limited number, but it is something.

  • @whitehollow1 No Bengal or Siberian Tiger could "easily" bring down this Lion. This Lion is pretty large, somewhere around 540 to 600 lbs. That's big, even for Tiger standards. A large Bengal is about that size. And a "modern" Siberian is probably slightly smaller than a large Bengal. And with that thick mane, how is a Bengal or Siberian Tiger gonna kill this Lion? Tigers typically aim for the neck in Tiger on Tiger fights, while Lions aim for the back legs & stomach in Lion vs Lion fights.

  • @mofoprada man !!! there is no point talking to this whitehollow or blackhole person because he ll exaggerate everything about a tiger without any scientific proofs and would try to convince the world that tigers are more powerful as compared to the lions.... when the whole world calls the lions as the king of the beasts...

by the way I have never heard anyone calling a tiger by a prestigious title ever !!! have you??? I m telling you dont waste your time on this whitehollow !!

  • @Osorioo

Ah man, you've been on safari?? Awesome!

  • barbary lionesses have manes LOL truly queen of the beasts ♥ :P

  • This does appear to be a Barbary Lion despite the lack of belly mane. He does however, have the loose flappy belly skin. This is probably a zoo with a warmer climate than Northern Africa.

  • @darthinfurnus I have been to South Africa where we saw the same Lions as this one.. But the South Africans had blacker manes and had hair on there belly and legs

  • he has no belly mane,so hes not a barbary lion

  • @manolodlospavos Hahaha, that has nothing to do with Brbary lions. Babary lions are the biggest cats ever seen before. This one hre is absoultely a decedent of the Barbary lion. Check encyclopedia about the Brbary lion.

  • @zizouzenati decendent is crossbreed, they are estinct in the wild.....for ever.

  • @manolodlospavos No not for ever, becuase the Barbary lion still lives in captivity in france and the USA. And experts want now to release them agian in the wild, back in the Atlas mountians of Morocco.

  • @manolodlospavos Barbary lions are extinct in the wild -_-

  • THIS IS THE MOROCCAN PRIDE!!! these lions where used by the romans for the gladiator games you see what people do to beautifull animals they kill them. Please people dont let the cheeta or other beautifull animals extint

  • Barbary Animals are the strongest lions on earth.

  • Let's say that thisis a pure Barbary Lion---it could be. Imagine if it contnued to evlove in the wold. The muscles would be more developed yet and the fighting experience and it's innate aggression would all combine to bring down the Eastern Tiger house myth.

  • All Lions dominate Tigers---even asiatix ones. African ones destroy them. Thius sub-specie would not even look at a Tiger as something it should defends itself against.

  • huge motherfucker

  • siberian tiger will crab on his pants!

  • What a beautiful sight the Barbary Lion, the most dominating animal in the Colosseum in the roman times. OH just to clear something up some idiot said below, just because the Siberian tiger was the biggest cat it doesn't mean it could be a Barbary lion... in fact the Siberian tiger was a lot weaker in the Colosseum compared to the Bengal tiger.

LIONS BEAT TIGERS why? because they are better fighters FACT don't need to look at the history books its plain fact.

  • @andyrose8519 Also Lions are significantly stronger.

  • simple cat :)

  • Magnificent creature , i cannot close my eyes.

  • So, I thought Barbary Lions were extinct. Can somebody explain?

  • @SableWWEOriginalDiva in the wild they are, The last known Barbary lion in the wild was shot in north africa in the early 1900s. they are doing a barbary lion project because they are almost extinct. if there weren't few in captivity they would have been extinct a century ago.

  • i wonder if he's muslim or christian. the lion i mean ;}

  • Was the lion that attacked the keeper in Las Vegas a barbary?

  • wat the diff between babary lion n those at africa?? juz sizes?or another breed or wat?

  • just so you know, although this specimen might have barbary lion in its genetic history, it is not a pure bred barbary lion as all of these are now extinct. There are only trace remnants where in some lions ancestry they may have crossbred with pure bred barby lions some hundred years ago.

  • i think the people that invented the term ''king of the animals'' meant to this lion. hes huge.

  • These Barbary Lions are allso called ''Nubian Lions''

  • thats not a barbary his mane doesnt stretch to his belly that is an african lion. which in most of theses vids their are asiatic lions. an african lion will probably mop a siberian tiger a barbary will destroy him.

  • barbary lions are extinct in the wild

  • what is with you ppl? "No tiger takes this guy down" "I bet this Barbary Lion , will beat those Siberian Tigers?" Jeez.. why is it that you die hard tiger fans and die hard lion fans want nothing more to see these animal fight to see who is strongest? Anyhow, this Lion may not be a Barbary Lion. some zoos think they may have one until proven otherwise.. And if this is a Barbary Lion, it is more than likely a hybrid of an African Lion & Barbary Lion.. More than likely..

  • @pussylicker24 doesnt matter, all barbary or barbary hybrids that we see are caged and tamed so it really is no real wonder if they are pure or not.

  • Actually.....a barbary lion's mane goes all the way under his belly....this is not a true barbary. Barbary Lions are extinct in the wild and there still are some in captivity. They are the biggest lions ever.

  • the Barbary lion the most sucsessful animal in blood sport in the roman times more than tigers and bears..

  • Barbary lions are the BIGGEST lions in the world. they are stronger than Siberian Tigers! i love Nature.

  • there are already extinc in the wild nearly 40 individuals live

  • this is the biggest lion i ever seen in my life

  • yes the barbary and also the asiatic < a lot smaller. both beat the tigers of the roman times

  • I bet this Barbary lion , wil beat those

    Siberian tigers?

  • @101respect101

    I bet not.

  • @101respect101 argeed with you

  • @101respect101 Easy

  • @101respect101 easy

  • @101respect101 You crazy

  • @101respect101 Unless that lion is 800 lbs he stands no chance

  • the lions that dominated tigers in roman times

  • lol i hope u realise that there are tigers that are still heavier and stronger than these. in roman times its most likely the caspian tiger would hav been around. its similar in size and weight to the siberian but is now extinct. The bengal tiger on average is heavier than a barbary lion and a siberian is on average quite a lot heavier than a bengal tiger. Caspian being just behind siberian. Trust me these never dominated tigers

  • they did man and if you think that the siberian tiger is better fighter then you are wrong its sisze is actually a disadvantage in a fight and barbary lions were/are the stronger species of lion (excluding the extint american lion) they are more heavily built

  • lol believe me size does matter. if a frog fought a bull i think the frog would lose lol so size does matter. Also tigers actualy hav much much more dense muscle than lions n that goes for all. They hav a wider larger jaw and hav been proven to hav up to 2x the bite strength of a lion. also i was referring to caspian tigers not siberian. i was comparing siberian n caspian. Honestly dude, u need to research this stuff, tigers hav always dominated

  • a frog and a bull have a big diffenrence in power. Lion and tigers vary sometimes the itger will be stronger and sometimes the lion will be stronger and the tiger does Not have 2x the bite force of a lion.

and also the size diffrence will not guarantee a tiger to win. dave salmoni even said he favours the lion over the tiger

  • @oxman7 Actually, a Lion's bite force is on AVERAGE very similar to a Tiger's. A Lion's average bite force is over 900 lbs. A Tiger's average bite force is around 950, but there have been cases in which different Lions have able to reach bite forces greater than 1100 lbs. (google it or KGB it if you don't take my word for it).

  • @oxman7 Also, Lions & Tigers really don't differ when it comes to muscle development. Many experts have stated that Lions are built very similarly to Tigers (when it comes to muscle formation) & you can notice it when you compare a Lioness & Tigress; they are both built very similarly (genetically & physically). The same can be said about the males, the only difference is that they are harder to compare, because most of the male Lion's muscles are hidden under it's mane, a Tiger's is exposed.

  • @oxman7 Finally, the real difference between Lions & Tigers is size. It's true that the Siberian Tiger is the largest cat, followed by the Bengal Tiger (which is possibly larger now), then by the African Lion. But the problem is that the Barbary Lion has not been factored in this discussion. It is commonly believed that the Barbary Lion can easily weigh 600 lbs. in the wild & exceed 11 feet in length.

  • @oxman7 It is also believed (by studying captive individuals) that Barbary Lions are the BULKIEST of the Lions. They have shorter front limbs (making them no taller than 3 1/2 ft. tall) & a deeper chest (more muscle); which tends to suggest that they are not only the largest Lions, but also the STRONGEST. This is why this cat would be a good challenge for a Siberian or Bengal Tiger.

  • @nyasa87 They crushed Tigers and Bears. The pure blooded ones with the un-tainted lineage. The Barbary (Barbarian Lion) before human contact was un-touched in any kind of combat.

  • Interesting how this lion has the belly fold seen on Indian Lions.

  • @PantheraAtrox of course barbary lions are genitically more similar to Indian and Arabian lions than African Lions.

  • True and since both P Atrox and Spelaea were "sister claves" genetically with the modern lions, but closer to the Indian and Arabian, I wonder if they also sported the belly fold.

  • @TheBuffaloKiller That's bulsshit, Stop making your own theory's

  • lion or tiger? lion definately...

  • That thing is bulging muscle with legs

  • Barbary lions are the biggest lions i ever seen!

  • Well duh, they're the biggest types of lions.

  • this one is huuuuuuuuuuuge

  • If you look good, it has the famous fold under the belly, that is common to the Asiatic and Berber lion

  • @antbrg66 True. By having that belly fold, big mane & HUGE size, it is possible that this lion could have potential Barbary genes. In the end, this lion could be a Barbary Lion, but I'm not sure if it is a pure-bred Barbary. Only genetic testing could confirm this & I don't think that this Lion has been genetically tested.

  • I think this is a crossbreed. But there is a full, pure blood Barbary Lion in Ljubljana ZOO,Slovenia. He god mane all the way down to his balls, and hes really BIG.

  • Thought the exact same thing.

  • woaw sik

  • Its not a Barbary Lion... It has a resemble but its not the original species.... I must admit that he is huge, good competition for a large Bengal Tiger or Siberian Tiger....

  • Do they know for a fact that they still exit??

What are the characteristics of a barbary lion anyway?

  • very hairy cest and belly to .this one, is a crossbreed

  • Can you verify that fact about the "crossbreed"?

  • theyr the biggest lions to exist and they have mane running down to their stomach.

  • Darker Hairs then the African Lion. ( dont know for 100% but i think they live alone not like african lions) they have bigger mane (whole body is in mane) but this is for 50% cross maybe pure maybe not dont know...

Sorry bad english im german but i hope i helped you

  • You are correct about the mane, it can also grow to 11 feet in length, and exceed 600 lbs. By far the largest lion subspecies. They are believed to be solitary lions, since a good amount of their territory was in the atlas mountains. Hopefully with the captive offspring that are left in the world these incredible animals can be reared back into the wild. These lions are truly majestic.

  • @1091Floyd21 no but there are strong examples of lions mostly african lions that share some characteristics with the barbary lions and it is possible to breed the traits of the barbary lions back into the world since most of the genes are dominant

  • I've seen plenty of equally impressive lions. In fact, he's just like any other fully grown mature male! The lions in the video on youtube; "Man killed by lion" are more impressive with better proportions.

  • No thats a Barbary Lion there are only a few left but thats a Barbary...

No tiger takes this guy down...

  • @kambe1520 you think so? try a Royal Bengal Tiger...barbary and indian gir forest lions are the most similar of all lion subspicies, reckonise the fold under the barbary's abdomin, distictict feature of only the indian and barbary lion. and the royal bengal tiger reigns supreme king of kings over the indian lions and barbary is almost a carbon copy except for te mane growing along its abdomin.

  • @kambe1520 No Tiger takes any Lion down---moreover a Barbary. A Liness occasioanlly takes a Tiger down. Look at the videos, etc.

  • @kambe1520 how would you even know? even the bible says itself that Proverbs 30:30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

  • @kambe1520 whats the difference between barbary and african lions anyone know?

  • @kambe1520 Ummmm.... Siberian Tiger.

  • that thing is huge

  • I agree... he might have some traits that are similar to the Barbary Lion, but he is not from the original blood line.... He also looks very healthy, probably 6 to 8 years of age & must weigh AT LEAST 550 to 600 lbs.

  • for me it looks like a big african lion with a dark mane or not fullblooded barbary lion but nice lion looking a lion should be strong, brave
