Thanks for that, glad you enjoyed it... It's good that posting videos like this can help to demystify some of those "what's that sound?" questions that arise from hearing old tracks from the 60s/70s, especially as the sounds giving rise to those questions often come from instruments like Mellotrons!
Yeah It's True One Of My Friend got the MEMOTRON (It's a Mellotron that's Using CD) and don't stop to searching sounds I've got another question, The Sound that starting at 0:30 Is That the Intro of "I Know What I Like"?
I think it probably is the same sound used at the very start of "I Know What I Like" mixed in with everything else, it sounds like it's also used at the very end as well - to my ears it appears to have been very heavily delayed, but it's still fairly unmistakeable.
Tony's magic mixed with Steve's to make one hell of a unique sound.

To reply to your question about what happened during the studio version.
Its mike playing on a real cello (see the booklet for details). He also played cello on Suppers ready.
Though I do believe that tony doubled him as the sound is not as lush as a real cello but has some harshness to it (and something unnatural)
Tony played his clavinet trough a fuzzpedal with a volume pedal swell on the live versions.

I think Tony was using a Hohner Pianet (different than a clavinet) into a fuzz and amp. It's on many of the tracks in this period.
