This tune is a traditional Russian gypsy song. The tremelo is mimicking the Balalaika. Little truth there :)

Unbelievable!! I just posted this song recorded live by myself with just a hand held tape recorder at his farewell tour in LA 2 years ago. In the process I noticed this amazing video. This song is one of the only songs that always makes me cry no matter what mood I'm in. I would love to have the original studio recording of this English version. This is totally magnificent!!! It's a traditional Gypsy song sung by Russian Gypsies. I think it's been sung in every language under the sun by now. Basically it explains the Gypsy carefree way of living. They liked to spend their evenings drinking, singing, dancing and well you can guess the rest. Having a Gypsy Grandma this song sends me. yes, his passion, especially at the end, is astounding. here a man in his 70's, and today in his 80's (and he is even better physically and vocally today than he was ten years ago when this was filmed) singing, dancing, and performing like this. he is a huge inspiration.
