Before you speak badly about this PRINCIPLE AT THE KIROV I suggest you take a look in the mirror and if you still think you are better than they are then say what you like but just know that a) she is famous and well regarded for a reason and b) Alina uses her extensions to her advantage and I'll bet that all those people out there who criticize her for it WISH they were as lucky as her her to have them.

It would have been better if they had kept her in the corps longer so that she could develop her style and her technique. She isn't that bad, but I think it's simply daft of those companies to let the girls have their main-role-debut so early. Once a dancer has a bad reputation, she never gets rid of it.

Look at the Darcey Bussell's and Marianela Nunez's who were dancing principal roles at that age (infact marianela was invited to joined her first company at 14). They had such phenomenal technique and such a mature presence on stage, that they were noticed and were offered those early promotions.
@Kruemelinchen90 Somova does not even compare to such artists, and I find it ridiculous that such a highly regarded company would promote her (no matter what her age).
wow she obviously has made great progress since then, otherwise she wouldn't be principal. with her, it's weird sometimes; she suddenly looks as if she weren't very turned out, which is absolutely impossible with a kirov ballerina, though. she clearly is weaker in this video than in the newer ones; especially her arms lack softness, and her piqués at the end were rather mediocre. but even then it's surprising how she's in controll of her long limbs, expecially with that crazy hyperextension...

At the beginning,it seems as if she has not so much control for the turns and her piques at the end were not beautiful.The first leg goes too high up and it looks like"jumping".
she has definitely gotten better. It's still more than I can do so I will say that was pretty good.
