@shuque71 Amazing!!!!!!! I spent my childhood listening to all these songs with my Dad as well, Im 32 years old, and my 8 yr old daughter feels Dr Hook like me and my Dad did. Tradition so to speak
went to see this band in 1983 (ish) in Edinburgh Playhouse.
Since then then I have seen the rolling stones, rush, ac/dc, paul mcartney,u2, and many more amazing bands, but that night in Edinburgh is still the best ever......
they seemed to enjoy it just as much as us and you felt they wanted you to be involved all the time. my dad played there albums all the time when i was young so maybe that helped. as someone already says 30 years on and still classic stuff.
best live band ever. saw the boys at the apollo glasgow. ray walking down the aisle and people going 'what the f&^*! ran down and danced with him - great night.
In the 70's My neighbor, who had never been to my house before, stopped by to say Hello and this song was on the Stereo. The man listened, and said "Something tragic happened in that man's life". Drank a beer, smoked a joint and went home and shot himself in the head. Of course, we freaked. But something happened to him during that song. You could see it in him. It was a trip. I felt so bad for him and his family. Just thought I'd share that with you all.
I have this DVD. it's a BBC production. I love this band. even though they were so messed up, they still sounded great. the guitar on Penicillin penny really has a great groove. look for that tune on you tube.
Ah Ronja, your channel is superb, believe it or not I never seen the Medicine show before, just heard their albums, now I'm hooked thanx to you my friend : )
One of my favorite tunes. not sure why they said it was a flop. The emotion alone in this song can be felt and seen.

I grew up listening to Dr. Hook's songs thanks to my mom. I'm so glad I know what real music sounded like.
