Absolutely beautiful. You definitely don't see many G41s up and running anymore. Matter of fact, I saw a G41(M) for the first time yesterday at a local shooting range (brought in by the grandson of a veteran). Never seen anything so ridiculously complicated before in my life, and nearly had a seizure when he loaded and fired it (if it had broken... there's not a way in hell to fix it).
The G-41 was developed from the world's first semi-automatic invented by ...Mexico. You heard that right. The patented 1887, 1908 Mondragon was first. It is presumed the G-41 was heavily influenced by the Mondragon design, since "The Weimar Republic of Germany and later Nazi Germany purchased rights to license manufacture the weapon along with Austria and Japan".
Its no coincidence they are both gas powered and look similar.
@55Mizzou Absolutely right but people seem to have a selective amnesia about that. Many less-than-secure people would be outraged about that fact. Worlds first Automatic and Semi-Automatic rifle: Mondragon. Wiki it folks.
Nice! Im about to buy a mismatched G-41 Walther and I was wondering what type of blanks/blank adapter you are using? I'd really much like to take this out in the field with me at events!
thanks man. you just made my german project way more fun.
