@totaly52 I drove past "Hitsville" or the original Motown once in 2007 and was amazed at how small the building was. The singers and other workers at Motown back then were very young and that house (Motown) had to be all of 5 or 6 rms. I don't know how they couldn't keep from killing each other up in there. Especially with the way that Gordy had them sing backgrounds for each other, do their songs, take charm and poise classes. I doubt if they got to practice dance steps.

From 1967 to 1971 Aretha was top female vocalist worldwide by Billboard Magazine. The Supremes were on a dry spell. Aretha also toured around Europe from that time period. Wow! Diana is supersexy in this video! The weight looks good on her. Also, her personality was so magnetic that it was easy to be attracted to her. Very few women have had that kind of a personality to go with those cute looks. There is just something about her- like you see in whitney houston. 1-23 to 1-27 Diana is keeping up with the Tempts in them heels and sequins gown that weights about 35lbs..and she still was keepin in step OMG..u better Diana..the fun thing is i remember watching this the night it aired. in 1968. i was 12yrs old. it was night to remember.

Marys so big now she cant even fit into Flos gowns when after flo had gained w eight. I wonder why they are using someone who is NOT a member of the Supremes to use their books instead of Marys for the Flo movie. Our auto industry changed America into a truly urban nation At least in Gordy's writings and ear. Troops in Desert Storm who said they heard a lot of Motown being played around Baghdad! Its a pity so many people in Michigan dont appreciate the greatness and global impact of Detroit's culture of art and industry.

You can admire cough up a lung Aretha all you want, however she never sang anything else but soul, Diana could successfully and convincingly sing much more different styles. And now she's too fat, uh um obese to fly.

Everything you said is a flat out lie. Aretha might be the Queen of Soul but Aretha has crossed many genre of music and has expressed herself better in them than Diana. Aretha is a more expressive singer. She has a great bond with music. Diana is good but people think because she is more subte means she is more versatile but really she is just singing the songs they way they are written, she's not really doing anything to make the song hers, unlike Aretha.

@TheQueenAretha aretha was fantastic to but only had appeal to a wider audience on a few songs when you look at her music history around the world. diana with and with out the supremes appealed to a wider audience when it came to world hits. in USA the story was maybe different. Both Aretha and diana are great for different reasons.

@TheQueenAretha i really do not think that is true...she had a couple of big songs like respect here in australia. the supremes were huge and toured consdtantly in europe. i think aretha had a fantastic following but she definitely was not selling across the board with all of her songs. the supremes had many hits withy good sales. aretha had a few hits with great sales. it is hard for people in australia to name a hit of aretha's other than respect or natural woman.

From 1967 to 1971 Aretha was top female vocalist worldwide by Billboard Magazine. The Supremes were on a dry spell. Aretha also toured around Europe from that time period. Plus Aretha is still big in Europe especially in the UK and Aretha hasn't been over seas in over 30 years. Also Aretha has more million selling single than anyone in music. Thats is no lie, like i said before she was able have mainstream world crossover to her.

Love the vid. Wish Paul would have done more dancing to this song. But then, if I remember correctly, they couldn't "get down" too much on the shows back then cause they had to appeal to everyone. That's alright though cause we all know who the very best dancer was, now don't we? All eyes on Paul.

Wow! Diana is supersexy in this video! The weight looks good on her. Also, her personality was so magnetic that it was easy to be attracted to her. Very few women have had that kind of a personality to go with those cute looks. There is just something about her- like you see in whitney houston. Though the both of them are "skinny" by African-american standards, they are the exception. You would take them over any other women. Those kind of women just gets your attention easily. They're rare.

I'll give Diana r-e-s-p-e-c-t for trying to sing Aretha's song but Ms. Franklin gets
her propers when she sing it. Nobody does it better. It would of been much easier on the ears if it was the Temptations and Aretha sing it. I 'm not a diane ross fan at all. Paul you were so smooth, the fans knew it but the industry big wheels slept on his talent.

I am seriously mad at ms ross. Diana Ross. First, she had a relationship proffessional or what not, with Eddie and PAUL, (they discovered her and they used to be called the primetts) secondly Michael Jackson had a HUGE crush on her that lasted a LONG time.
OMG! THREE of my dream man...one who I even named a damn youtube channel after. Liked HER. Ugh, so not fair!

This tv show "TCB Takin' Care Of Business" was a giant success. The soundtrack album reached #1 on U.S.-album charts. Some times later a follow up "G.I.T. On Broadway" was aired on tv, and a soundtrack album came out too ...
A friend of mine said: "THE MOST UNBELIVABLE SHOW I'VE EVER SEEN ON TV!" Diana's performance was so great, I really want to see the complete show again!
