cool videos, i learned alot but i constantly had trouble finding the lessons i wanted

It is, in facts: that base is the "Sunken bird base", made beginning from the bird base!

First, the thinner the paper, the better is.

Second, with your favorite wordprocessor/graphic software/by hand, draw/color/cut one or two squares of paper from an A4 sheet of paper... and you have all that it takes: notice that it's just what I did for all of my tutorials.

You don't necessarily need origami paper.

For some reason, whenever I read how to do this on the Web or in my Origami notes, I always got stuck on two particular steps. After watching your video, while my folding could use a bit more precision (but I DID use an old piece of copy paper this time, after going through about three or four sheets of origami paper, with no success and much frustration), I actually have a reasonable facsimile of the star! Thanks for ALL your origiami videos ... I've used them many times.

Eh, that step requires, as I show, to go slow and to make the adiacent square's angles near to the one you're folding...

Probably, the ripping or not may more or less easily happen according to the type of paper you're using...

After the opening titles, in the subtitles it's written that some parts are required before doing this part: and in the description you can find all the links to those parts!

To stuff everything in a single video, from the plain square to the finished figure would force me to go too fast: but it would not be my style!

i've always been wondering this.. how come in all ur videos about origami, theres a part that flashes the finished piece, but then goes back to ur regular folding instructions?

YT gives the chance to use the frames (the images) at 25%, 50%, 75% of the whole length for to use them (just one at a time, by the way) as the thumbnail of the video.

In this way, I can manage things so that you all may see how that origami model is gonna result... before you begin do make it! ;-)

I use Storyboard, a software part of the suite Easy Media Creator by Roxio: but it's a suite bundled with a DVD writer...

Somewhere I've read about a free software called Wax, but I haven't personally tried, so I can't express a judice about it...
