Bloody brilliant little clip to show the bastardry of our government - and it's now 2009! Unbeleivable. Let's hope the recent legal action by the small environment group stops this insanity.
ever since the franklin dam protest got hawke elected labour has know that green gets votes ,nother example is ingram,s'' save the snowy campighn"policticly impossible due to watr demands between jindabine and adelade, but greens vote fr him and he got labour elected again, vote fr forest,s not bullshit!
It wasnt that i didnt like what you had to say it was to let you know that brown mountain is in victoria. However i realised that both side of the argument are very one track minded and that it will be an ongoing issue that both parties will never listen to each others opinion, so it will never get resolved. Sorry if it offended you.
I think the reason people are so passionate about saving the bush is that so much of it has gone. I'm sure they are also concerned about peoples jobs, however the loss of forest affects *far more* people for a *far longer time* than the repercussions to timber workers of stopping clearfelling.
Why not protest to the people that make the decisions on where the loggers go to and leave the middle bloke alone, they are only trying to feed their families.
Well, the people who make the decisions - the politicians - *are* being lobbied, it's just that it happens behind closed doors (and occasionally out the front of parliament house). The protest that occurs in the forest is only one small part of it - obviously for loggers the most visible part.
You people who are so against logging need to understand both sides of the argument it is not all cut down the trees chip it and stuff the bush. Do some more research.
their is so many nat parks for your kids and their kids to see the small percent they harvest [and regenerate]each year is not going to affect anything
I am devastated that my kids will not be able to see this forest. As guardians of the forest the Brumby govt. are negligent and should be made accountable for their actions
Brilliant, it's about time Vic Forests was brought to count on the wanton destruction to our forests all in the name of economics.
Govt will eventually learn our resources are not commodities, they are life giving organisms with as much right to exist on this planet as we do.

How stupid that you place your life at risk to capture this footage while hiding in the bush.
