I remember when that was on WND, I think they went with the Kenyan BC being a fraud cause it was taken down by ebay so many times and there was nothing to verify the claims that it was authentic. and seeing that it hadn't yet been subject to any public scrutiny save that of a picture of it posted on ebay, about three or four times, who could've told? Kenya only uses British style date formats. It's impossible to use both, no one would know what any date meant. Would 8/7/2009 mean Aug 7th? or July 8th?

Wikipedia says they use both, but without any valid citation for it. Other sites on the web say they use both, but cite wikipedia as their source for it. Wikipedia seems to have started this wrong information.

And in '61 they were still a British colony. They sure as hell used only British style then.

You seem very confident. Have you ever been to Kenya? When going to foreign countries, especially third world countries, you'll find that logic isn't always the norm. I just checked a Kenyan newspaper online, and found that both date formats are used on the same page. The British format DD/MM/YYYY is at the top, and "December 31" is used in the article instead of "31 December." I'd post the link but YouTube won't let me.

I already found lots of stuff like that. The question isn't whether they use both long formats, but both short formats. It's impossible they could use both short formats without something to distinguish between them. The Philippines, for example, uses dd/mm/yy in Filipino, but mm/dd/yy when writing in English (due to American influence.)

That works because they know which language is being used, and thus which date format is being used.

But the BC is in English, and it would be British influence in this case. And all the short format examples I could find from Kenya are, without exception, dd/mm/yy. Maybe they use mm/dd/yy for Swahili, I don't know, but they certainly use dd/mm/yy for English.

You literally CAN'T use both without some way to distinguish because there'd be no way to know what any date meant for the first 12 days of each month. And the parents b-days, as well as the dates next to the signatures are in mm/dd/yyyy format.

Let me just say that I'm not convinced this document is real, Obama was probably born in Hawaii, and I think he's hiding his information for other reasons. But don't be so confident that you're right about the date thing until you've been to Kenya and verified it for yourself. As I said before, countries that have been through rough times don't always have the most logical systems.

It's one thing to not have "the most logical system" it's another entirely to have a short date format that's completely ambiguous for almost half the days each month. Even a country that's been through rough times will still quickly standardize between those two formats, or stop using short date formats altogether. You can use yyyy/mm/dd in combination with either of those two, and you can use any or all of the long date formats, but you can't use those two short formats at the same time.
