100mph is usually still very controllable, I don't know about in this vehicle...but we can be thankful the runaway cars aren't corvettes or something that could really go somewhere fast.

Next time you do a top speed test you should do the top speed. You didn't even floor it. I know cause my wifes car is a 2007 Prius. If you're doing 90 and floor it, it will shoot right up to 108 mph. While that may not be very fast to me,its still faster then what most people go. My Acura TL type S has a top speed of 154 mph. That may sound cool, but it takes about 15 gallons of gas to only go 300 miles or so. The Pruis on the other hand only takes 8 gallons to go 500+ miles. Advantage Prius!

The thing is that the Toyota and the Chrysler were built for different reasons, but I just think it's important to note how much cheaper the Chrysler is compared to the Toyota.

It only weighs 2450 lbs. The fastest I've been in it is 112, although it could probably go 130, but the speedometer only goes to 112, so you'd have to break the speedo in doing that. If you over-ride the automatic by downshifting and allowing the revs a slight head start, it has a lot more power than letting the computer manage it. I am not the only one that does this, when you go to manufacturer autocross events, they bolt plastic plates over the shifter so that autocrossers cannot downshift. it allows you to completely manage the rpm.
Not for nothing, and I'm sorry I don't have it on video, but I got pinched recently in my 07 Prius, going 101 miles an hour. It's official, I've got the ticket, the points and a comment from the Judge, that "The court is ... surprised that you were able to reach that speed in a hybrid"
i'd take civic hybrid over the cheese wedged shaped prius thank-you very much. i like toyota's but they need to redesign prius to be more sporty and competitive with the civic hybrid or HERES AN THOUGHT FOR TOYOTA why not take the best selling corolla and make it into a hybrid now that would be competitive with civic or any other hybrid.

Uhh... It says in the manual to avoid high speeds during the first 500 miles or so to help break in the engine and stuff...
