  • This is what is missing today. Class, style, elegance, and REAL talent. Real music and a real voice singing real melodies.

  • @lavernemariebutler

I don't mind no "class," "style" or "elegance" in my music. However, I will agree with you that "real talent" is what is missing from music today. People don't sing well live anymore and most of the music sounds so bland or mediocre, even the "smart" music that middle class educated types listens to is not all that good.

  • also it shouldnt matter what the person does in their personal life or in their spare time or what they wear. talent is talent regardless. stop judging everyone who isn't your ideal. so much idiocy on youtube.

  • elegance exists the problem is people are too busy looking for the bad and not seeing the elegance and when it disappears they go "OH I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS HERE" get a life. elegance still exists. LOOK FOR IT OR SHUTUP.

  • A more elegant time......

  • So classy, so talented, so beautiful and stylish!

  • I've always loved Nancy Wilson, both as an artist and a woman.

  • so beautiful and classy..... she si a great role model if more of our young people would simply watch and learn

  • Wow, talent and grace have gone the way of the dinosaur.....extinct!! Thanks for the memories, YouTube and Ms. Wilson.

  • I love Nancy Wilson. She is such a wonderful singer. She also is a great actress. I once saw her play a role on Hawaii Five O and she was great! What a wonderful voice and what a wonderful person. My very best, Nancy!

  • Well, folks . . . Ms. Wilson certainly does a tasty job on this . . . but to hear another just as fine . . . check-out Dinah Washington's version . . . the great D.W. . . . married eight times . . . dead at 39 . . . Gary in Arizona . . . courtesy of Vic561.

  • Call the fire department somebody, cuz she just set off a three alarm burn. Loved the way she worked those stairs to the stage.

Sorry, but way too many women today don't seem to understand it doesn't make you less of a women if you're a lady.

  • Not bad!! I think we got some of that rain that was coming up the coast today.

    Jim

  • Pure Elegance, Grace and Most of All Talent

  • Wow! this is heavy...

  • listen to this son rushlinda36

  • I'm LOVING that voice and listening to A REAL AMERICAN IDOL!

Thanks for this clip,a beautiful song sung by a beautiful lady!

  • Lovely! Pure beauty....breathtaking.

  • Breathtakingly beautiful!

  • OK? Class & sass! :)

  • Beautiful...just beautiful...all the way around!!!

  • I dont get how she can be so good... i just dont get it

  • I've been a huge fan of Nancy Wilson my entire life (thanks in part to my dad). She is the all time greatest voice and song stylist EVER!!!

  • Yep, she's one of a kind.

  • WOW ....thats all I can say ....WOW!!!!

  • I heard mp3iiffy is the best site to download songs like this. Google mp3iiffy.

  • I heard mp3iifffy is the best site to download songs like this. Google mp3iifffy.

  • she's a CHARMETTE... so very charming...a lady she is indeed!

  • Great singer, great beauty.

  • Diva !

  • Nancy is giving a lil Nichelle Nichols from Star Trek, Honey!!! Brava Diva!!

  • Oh, the good old days when black people had dignity. Hip Hop has done a huge disservice to the Black community.

  • that is false.

hip hop is one of the greatest expressions of art that originated by the black community

if you're referring to the unfortunate popularization of misogyny and violence, I don't blame hip hop, I blame the source and system that created and perpetuated them within the black community in the first place

  • @bummedoutforlife there is no comparison between the soulful beauty and expression of a great vocalist like Nancy Wilson and the garbage that spews out of the mouths of the low life hip hop/rap generation.

  • @68lincoln whoa whoa

    not all hiphop is bad

  • @garnerean unfortunately, bigots like you are still spewing ignorance like objectifying an entire race of people by a genre of music. There's no dignity in bigotry and there are far more white Americans who think like you than there are hip hop performers. That's the downfall of America.

  • @garnerean AMEN! Thank you.

  • Yo. There were some pretty raunchy blues songs back in the day.

  • Her voice is still this good in concert.

  • chaka khan tear it up also..

  • Etta Jones owns this song.

  • @vova47 Thanks for turning me on to Etta Jones! I love miss Nancy Wilson but Etta's version is wow!

  • Comment removed

  • @zane5153 You are welcome, Etta was one of the great singers indeed!

That's not to say anything disparaging of Nancy Wilson, of course.

  • @ioneking -(LOL) Your feeling the need to protect Ms Wilson from my comment is adorable. You apparently are not able to understand that I was giving her an extemely high compliment by stating that because of her many gifts, she doesn't need to "perform" the song,to get us to pay attention,All she has to do is stand there and sing....Oh, BTW,I think Ms Wilson is going to be just fine with, or without my opinion,so I think I'll keep it just the same.(LOL)

  • @tet43..(LOL) I see you are very much correct and i must laugh at myself for being so foolish to lash out like that at you, not knowing you were only giving a compliment. But i guess it was just the way you said it really seem like an insult, but' i am truly sorry and i wouldn't want to leave such an bad image or repensentation under the Beautiful Ms. Nancy Wilson, Please Oh! Please forgive me?....(LOL)..

  • @ioneking Hey apparently 5 others felt the same way.Since my intention is being misunderstood, i'm removing the comment. Thanks for helping me to see that!

  • she does a cover of the sandro song named in spansih asi i wonder what is the name in english

  • Nancy is one of the greatest singers of all time, and I truly love watching this video, she is so sexy and classy. If you enjoy music like this you should also check out Anita O'day "that old feeling" that is another great performance.

  • See, this is the problem with people who don't have adequate historical or artistic reference points in order to build INFORMED opinions to make themselves at least appear intelligent. I love her facial expressions, and bummedoutforlife is exactly right; It was normal stage etiquette for the day and singers were trained in how to use their hands, faces, etc. Check out Sarah Vaughn et al to get my drift.

  • THANKS !

  • beautiful, classy, talented.

  • perfection.

  • Nancy Wilson simply takes my breath away! Such class, style and elegance! Her vocal chords are truly amazing. One of America's greatest singers by far.

  • wow shessss SKIINNYYY!

  • You DO know that tv show was over 40 plus years ago. She is STILL lovely and talented and can out sing all of those 2 for a dime pop hoochies. And there you have it!

  • ok, she was over-doing it with the emoting via facial expressions deal. But boy is she one sylish lady who can sing. Dead classy.

  • I have noticed that among jazz singers. Their facial expressions are a little odd and a bit distracting. Theirs voices though are sublime especially Miss Wilson.

  • Wow! No gyrations or "rump shakers", and she's fully clothed. I guess she's gotten by all these years on just.....TALENT?!! Maybe sometimes that's all it takes to become an industry icon.

  • HELL YEAH!!

Aint it great just to see some one do it with just the voice and their presence.

  • Yes - it's wonderful! But, unfortunately, I think it's becoming a thing of the past.

  • Amen! Thats how it ought to be!!

The genius of Fancy Miss Nancy!

  • but... times have changed

I agree that voice should be enough

    but during these times

    this was the norm

the way she is dressed in the vid is the way that was revered by the media

    unlike the norms of today

    so yes

lets go back to the days when talent mattered.

  • @lalamama4real TALENT WHAT'S THAT? OH HER SINGING VOICE. NO CARES FOR THAT ANY LONGER.

  • @lalamama4real i know right? nancy wilson got by all this time on talent? the nerve of her! the utter audacity! the unmittigated gall! lmao...i SO agree with you lalamama.....i'm sorry but beyonce, ciara, rihanna, keyshia cole, just to name a few "contemporaries" out here today, need not take a page from miss nancy wilson, they need to have their butts in CLASS and have nancy school these girls on what it means to have talent, poise, class, and sophistication.

  • @lalamama4real

Some rump shakers are very talented. See Tina Turner.

  • @kives1985 LOL! You got me on that one. I guess there's something for everyone. Just glad Nancy took the more "sophisticated" path. :)

  • I need a cigarette.......

  • It don't get no better that...

  • Breathtaking....love ya Nancy.

  • does anyone have the song Joe?

  • I don't know which version I like better this one or the Etta Jones rendition. Oh well, what a delightful dilemma!

  • I love her voice!! Eternally Beautiful!

  • Damn Her stage presence is amazing so much feeling an emotion in her face Wow!

  • The Chaka Khan version of this is also very good.

  • I've heard both versions of this song from Nancy Wilson and Jimmy Scott and have been fortunate to see both of these artists LIVE! They define music.

  • I actually have this song by many different artists and this is the best. I think Nancy is one of the best artists of all time

  • Vivica Fox should portray her in a movie...i love Nancy Wilson's music...

  • Are you crazy!?

Shes a low life piece of trash!

Thats worse than Beyonce playing Ross!!

  • Damn she was fine. So jazzy!

  • Such an amazing vocalist. Love that pure, straight tone. Perfect control of the vibrato. But ... if you want to hear her admitted inspiration, give a listen to Little Jimmy Scott. You'll hear Nancy in his amazing voice and slow-motion phrasing.

  • drvinnievegas----------------Little Jimmy Scott is a bad dude...awesome talent.....ive been hoping to see him live for about the last 7 years..everything he sings just grabs the crowd and he sings so effortly(sp) too !!!

  • Nola, yes he's one in ten million. Grabs your heart with every note. He was here in Pittsburgh last year and I lament that I missed the show.

  • I have just discovered this woman.

    Love her!!!!!!!!

  • your all rookies i have been a nancy wilson since the 60's

  • Really a beautiful woman too and in hindsight I wonder whether she could have had an African American'Barbie' doll named after her... the 'Nancy doll', nice thought tho', hmmm!

  • WOW.

  • PERFECTION

  • Yes, I second that!

    PEFECTION!

  • Beautiful!

  • Nancy Wilson, is the great female "Song Stylist"

  • the love of my life , Linda Colleen Evans, reminds me so much of tthe Baby, would love to see you again Linda. thanks for this post.

  • jesus... look at those sexy eyebrowes... she is THE woman!

  • The dress leaves everything to the imagination...such class, such expression ooooh baby.

  • All the great female vocalist, Diannah, Sarha, Ella, Dakota, Gloria, I guess it all comes down too preference.... In my humble opion nobody deivers more emotion and eludes more charm than the Baby, nobody come close, I need a cigareet and I don't smoke

  • That dress ought to be against the law

  • The look, the feel , the phrasing, captivating charm, and sexy beyound words........ she would't have too sing,, but thank God She does..... come home? I aint leaving for work even.

  • She looks anorexic in this video. I don't recall her ever being this thin (at least in my mind)

  • wow you think she looks anorexic!!!! i think she looks Gorgeous but to each his or her on lol

  • She is pretty thin, but most folk were back then with the exception of a few. Today, we're an Obese country...Seems like everybody's body is out of whack with exception of a few(smile).

  • Actually, it was probably the other way around. Nowadays we are so obsessed with being thin. Back then you didn't have to be a size 2 to have a career. The women were shapely and now they have to be sticks!

  • True. Most Folk were naturally then back then is probably what I shoulda said. I've always thought Nancy was a fox. I just never seen her that small and that was a shock. Even in the early 90's people were regular lookin thick or slim. Nowadays hell I don't know what to say.

  • B E A U T I F U L L Y C L A S S Y. . .

  • She is soooo classy. I'm 23 and I love this kind of music.

  • i was so close seeing her in concert 6 row

  • ho!!! it's my favorite song

t' makes me sad to hear this song :'(

  • Her record with Canonball Adderley and an allstar rythm section is highly recommended!! She sings so beautiful in her own original way...

  • ROFL Anyone who truly believes that Amy Whinehauss is a better singer that this wonderful vocalist needs to ask for a full refund for their auditory congiguration. Listening to Nancy Wilson's beautiful voice and the intelligent way she applies it is one of life's most exquisite pleasures.

  • 'configuration' oops:)

  • STYLE baby!! A voice!! Nuff said!!

  • This is great! Thank you for posting this! Wonderful to see Nancy at her peak- and in color! This must be about 1965.

  • Huh? I'm sorry...I'm an Amy Winehouse fan, but she is NOT, could NOT, will NOT EVER be...better than this woman!!! But of course that's just MY opinion. : )

  • Remarkable! I truly missed this era of when television was a real source of entertainment.

  • From the album "Tender Loving Care". If you can find this album, I assure you that you will not be disappointed. You will want to be with someone special, sharing a bit of your favorite wine. Nancy's voice will take you to places you will want to visit over and over again. She is simply the best.

  • I concur... The "Tender Loving Care" album is a must have!!!

    Sweet Nancy Wilson!

  • Do you have the album, and if so, who was the arranger/conductor. It sounds a lot like Oliver Nelson, but that might be wishful thinking on my part.

  • I have it on CD and on vinyl..The arranger/conductor for that album is the great Billy May...It sounds like they're playing the arrangement from the recording in this clip...

  • she ripped that

her and amy winehouses versions are the best

  • Please what an insult to Nancy Wilson.

  • well said-an insult t us for even having to read that comment.

  • no, lol not an insult, frankly AMY WINEHOUSE is better than her.. sorry :(

  • The Baby is so expressive, so beautiful,so Nancy

  • simply flawess !

  • loved it loved it really a good song smiled during the entire song

  • song of songs, she does it right!

  • Now that's what you call a beehive. I've seen Nancy perform live many times, always sounds as elegant and beautiful as she looks.

  • This is a WOMAN!!! No one touches her elegance, poise, sophistication. Even before she opens her mouth, hers is a powerful presence.

I will forever be awestruck by Nancy Wilson!

  • She just fantastic. I have always been so awed by that phenomenal voice. Just like when she sang My One And Only Love, hearing her sing this song gives me the chills! By the way, Chaka Khan also sang this song, a little differently, but also very well.

  • this is the best version of this song

  • OMG, I am having myself a Nancy WIlson day! I keep finding one great video after another. She is just oneof my favorites, and she takes me to an emotional place that I have not been to in a long time. You know what? It feels good. I am just going to chill when I get home and play some Nancy Wilson albums and just enjoy the rare relaxing moment.

  • I've never seen video of her earlier days; she looked and sounded so mature; I LOVE YOU NANCY!

  • complete perfection from a true star.

  • Ms Nancy at her best......

    Your greatest Fan

  • Pefection.
