  • I would have liked to have seen Clapton sing this song, Roger didnt seem too into it...

  • david gilmour sings this song better than roger^^

  • ERIC CLAPTON YOU SUCK

  • I prefer the Gilmour accent, however this sounds nice and different with the Clapton's signature. Indeed Waters love female backing vocals. It is always there!

  • Nos estamos viendo Roger.-

    Gracias !

  • How i wish how i wish i was as good as Eric Clapton!!!

  • Eric Clapton sucks

  • @GreenishV you really are a dumbass!

  • There goes Eric Clapton adding more notes than necessary

  • @JustATadpole vindo de Clapton jamais serão notas demais...o que fudeu a musica foi o vocal veio.....essa musica é de DAVID GILMOUR ou seja do Pink Floyd...

  • Just edit out Matt Daman and you would have the perfect video.

  • @HellsAngelsofNC i didn't sad that waters can't play music,i have the screaming face of empty spaces on my arm and i seen ALL Pink Floyd's exibitions!

he is one of the most important composer of history of music and i love him but, technically, nothing compared to Clapton's skills, and this is not my opinion: it's a fact!

say that Clapton whishes to strum guitar like Waters is pure ignorance.

  • in my opinion simplicity is the mark of the original version...

I don't like this one in spite of the fact that I love Waters & Clapton music.

  • Roger Waters looks somewhat like Richard Gere lol :)

  • 1:02 Is that Eric Claptons signature on the guitar that Roger is playing? hahaa

  • clapton ruins it imo

  • @Ali74 Really? Captain obvious attack again

  • First time i seen this, just GREAT!

  • amazing! one og my favs

  • There goes Roger Waters with his back up singers, he just loves them

  • Good cause ! Bad vocal xx

  • 0:30 free skip to the song bottom

  • Matt.....DAMON

  • @ThePigBlimp Over The Line! SwineDirigible

  • There being 3 female backing vocals throw off the integrity of the lyrics, being the earnestness of two individuals being reduced to recollections due to distance... Shame

  • Ya puedo llorar?

  • i wish u were here!!!!!

  • It's different than Gilmour's original version, but it's nice too! Although I'm a big Claptopn fan (even have his guitar) I think he doesn't really add much quality to the song. It's just not his style

  • 0:27 thank you.

  • it's also very nice with water's voice even if gilmour is so much better !

funny to hear clapton playing gilmour...

  • wooooow

  • Gilmour's voice is soooo much better

  • @anenhas he is the lead vocalist

  • Heavenly!!!

  • Mom I miss you.

  • Damn this is great music!!!!!

  • that room has eric clapton, roger waters AND matt damon wow.

  • That's what i call heaven !!!

  • I can't understand, Eric and David are both one of the best guitarplayers that ever live. I'd like to hear Eric, he play so good this song, i loved it. I like a lot to hear David too, he is the maker of the song, and he plays it awesome. Look, I loved hear them both.

  • eargasm, but never better than guilmor and waters together

  • 2:01 am I the only one who hears negro in a cage?

  • @animalolz no you're not the only one.

  • @animalolz hahahaha!!!

  • what the fuck is this roger and gilmour dispute nonsense, just listen and shut the fuck up you ignorant young fuck head morons.

  • Matt Damon: "could you please shut up!!! im listening the best song ever..

  • Attention rest of world - not all English men talk like this

  • Is Eric trying to scrape something off of his shoe?

  • "old pink floyd number?" :V You bitch !!!!! this is a masterpiece >_>

  • Eric wishes he could strum that guitar as good as Roger Waters.

  • @HellsAngelsofNC And you wish you can strum guitar as anyone of them...

  • @hary202 No Shit, everybody wishes they could play the guitar as well as Waters.

  • @HellsAngelsofNC u can't play guitar,I suppose.........Waters is the worse guitarist ever...

  • @pent0thal87 Oh, my bad my bad, i didn't know you knew Waters personally, heard every practice hes done and every live performance, studied his music, and added your statistics up to find out that he's the worst guitarist ever...

  • @HellsAngelsofNC well he is far from the worst guitarist ever but Eric Clapton is far better than Roger. But that's also because guitar isn't roger waters main instrument i think

  • @Dvermoet Exactly. Waters main instrument is the bass and it's not like he's considered one of the best bassists of all time either. Waters is, however, one of the greatest composers of music the world has ever seen.

  • @jbelcher74 exactly! :)

  • roger has an awful voice compared to david

  • nowhere nr as good as d gilmour`s acoustic, even with 1 o the finest gee-tar players helpin out.....

  • THis is a song where Roger an David colaborated 50-50. they have said it many times, a rare thing for them to sit and write at the same time. i say that make it so fucking special. Best band ever!!!

  • i wish you were here ...hachiko

  • clapton>gilmour. this vid isn't the best example, but anyway that's my opinion :)

  • Matt Damon is disrespectful!

  • Q grandes q son en una buena cancion

  • this song needs david gilmour

  • this is terrible....well waters vocals are terrible....

  • GREAT!

  • How I Wish I Was There

  • Roger has his place, but it isn't performing Wish You Were Here. Love Clapton, and he gives a great performance here. But I have to agree, David Gilmour, Wish You Were Here.

  • this is not a roger song, and it's not a blues song. I love Clapton, and I love Pink Floyd, but this did not work for me. What are those background singers doing there? we just want Dave

  • Matt Damon!! 2:19

  • damn this is what good music is all about, why aren't there more artists like this out there who are young enough to pick up the torch and carry it on and keep GOOD music alive, rather than the punk boys and ungodly awful female singers who are turning out fluffy dog crap and call it music!!!

  • he is not singing, he is speaking the lyrics :(.. Gilmour we want more of you!!

  • What ? 81 Dislike?? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? ¬¬

  • Anytime Eric plays is enjoyment for me. He is amazing

  • roger waters is just terrible... maybe i'm just really used to gilmours singing.... or maybe clapton should have sang instead

  • Waters is GOD!!!

  • GOT to have a 12-string

  • Oh, those three beautiful backup singers are just the icing on the cake! What a lovely touch.

  • Roger is sure stoned there

  • there is no floyd without SYD (first) AND waters AND gilmour AND mason AND wright which is why i thought the whole argument was soooo stupid for so long...egos robbed everyone of some great music

  • Roger Waters IS Pink Floyd you dumb asses don't comment if you have nothing intelligent to say...do any of you think Gilmour was the driving force behind that band? if so you are idiots

  • @bradleypark1 FUCK YES YOU ARE!

  • @bradleypark1 doesen't change the fact that gilmour is way the bether singer

  • @mip93 The truth is that Roger wrote the majority of it and without him there would have been no band in the first place...and gilmour's singing is shit, that's why he's a guitarist

  • @bradleypark1 Gilmour's singing is far from shit!!

  • @bradleypark1

    gilmour wrote most guitar parts

  • @igessthsisgrwnup that would be awesome if people only wanted to hear guitar but that was not all that made the band

  • @bradleypark1

lol i wouldnt rather have just heard gilmour than roger sound liek shit with his old ass voice

  • @2:17

Matt Damon: "Look honey I can't talk about this right now, I'm doing some kind of charity, we'll talk about this later."

  • i admit gilmore would be able to sing this better, but back in the 70s waters would have been able to aswell, and anyway his voice is more suited to songs like In the Flesh ect...

  • The difference between Gilmour and Clapton is Gilmour sings with the guitar, and Clapton just plays with it.

There is nothing more to say on the matter.

    Peace, Y'all.

  • Roger Waters is a different kind of singer than Gilmour, I like both of their voices and if you are a true Pink Floyd fan then you would second this motion.

  • waters has a bad voice. he wrote the tunes but gilmour brought them to life with his voice and guitar work

  • @flowerdrop1 don't ham it up! waters have a great voice too! Just different, we're all used to listen this song with gilmour's voice but waters' tone is one of the most particular in the rock history! indeed when he was young he sang a lot of beautiful tunes! Listen dark side!

  • i think that both clapton and gilmour are exceptional guitarists. I cant really put one above the ohter. And the idea that one his better songs than the other is neither hear nor there. It is simply the fact that the song being played on my computer right now is absolutely amazing.

  • dem womenz is ruinin da song

  • I don't see why are there so many negative comments about this. Of course that Clapton is no where as good as Gilmour, matter of fact i don't really like him at all. For me, he's just an amazing guitar player with few fucking good songs, and that's it. And David, he's something else, he has heart and soul with all of that clapton has. But talking negative about this. Look guys, Roger wrote the song, and he can perform in any way he wants to, if it had been me instead of eric, would kick ass.

  • @AlenSpikic Cream? John Mayall Blues Breakers? Derek and the Dominos? Clapton is a wonderful guitar player. Equal and different than Gilmour.

  • @davidturner9823 "he's just an amazing guitar player with few fucking good songs". Where did I say something different to that? As Jack Bruce said it when Jimi Hendrix had an request to jam with Cream: "Eric was a master guitar player, Jimi was force of nature". And it really says it all. Same goes for Gilmour, he has heart and soul. And if I can choose one stuff where you can hear that, listen to comfortably numb pulse solo. Really says it all.

  • Wish I were there T-T

  • QUE MARAVILLA!!

  • 77 Assholes ho dont diserve ears!

  • Is he singing the same notes, just lower?

  • @krollaostmedburger yea hes singing the octave lower but it sounds better in the correct octave

  • @GNRMetallica13 yeah It sounds more alive when David sings it

  • fuck i iced So Goood

  • i fuckn hate hugh fuckn grant.

  • Clapton who?

  • @Deadrops ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¿who?!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @baudouful

    #sarcasm

  • that's an amazing combination: Waters and Clapton, Claption and Waters, doing a great acustic arrangement of this storic song..

well done, never seen before ;)

  • Clapton es dios nada mejor que escuchar al mejor guitarrista , tocando una de las mejores canciones de la historia

  • I think it's pretty fascinating to see how much Roger has tried to make it 'his own', as such. They've changed the original backing guitar, the structure of the solos and even the melody. I love Roger but it disappoints me that he seems to care more about owning the song than playing it as it was intended, which was already perfect.

Also, the backing singers need to go.

  • @AmyLeeFan1Aleera

I think that Roger has trouble with the high notes. Also, a song is a living thing, and after playing it thousands of times, it isn't a bad thing to keep it fresh. Clapton accompanied Roger on his first solo tour, if memory serves, and they played this song differently even way back then.

  • if your gonna put a stand in ....clapton will do

  • david gilmour, wish you were there!

  • @J94R Even Claton couldn't save that song...

  • what? i didn't know richard gere was in pink floyd

  • que lindo es me coito vaginal

  • david guilmour Rules!!!!!!!!!!

  • isnt the same as when david things

  • By reading all these posts i can tell all of you are split about the whole Gilmore-Waters thing. well guess what you dubm asses they were pink floyd together! they both wrote and played the songs together as a band! you cant like one and not the other and obviously non of you are true floyd fans and can all fuck off for talking shit on either one of them!

  • @1sancho84 Rolling Stone: "David G: "He forced his way to become the central figure...that's what he really wanted, to be that central figure. I felt, and I'm sure Nick did too, that it was not the best thing to happen. As productive as we were, we could have been making better records if Roger had been willing to back off a little, to be more open to other peoples' input. It wasn't like we were all there leaning on him to look after us." Thats why we dislike Waters, talented YES, asshole YES

  • @sloftin76 Is this really david gilmore!?!?!?

  • @sloftin76 Is this really David Gilmore!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @1sancho84 I was quoting what David Gilmour said during a Rolling Stone interview about the conflicts between Waters and the rest of the band. :)

  • @1sancho84 Don't like as much as when Gilmour sings it, but I'm thinking that the playing and backing vocalists make up for it.

  • Genios dos musicos admirables, tuvimos el honor los ARGENTINOS de tener la visita de ellos

  • But where is Gilmour our God ??

  • clapton sucks....sry.

  • As far as I can see, there are people who still go way ahead and try to show others who the boss or the winner may be between Roger Waters and David Gilmour, it seems they care and need to show this, that is a pity, this song does not talk about it and if we remember this song sung by Gilmour, perhaps that was just an accident of the album producer, who cares really? I make no mention to Clapton or Waters because there is no need to show further admiration or thankfulness.

  • Great version honestly, and I love Waters and I LOVE Clapton, like if I was gay and if Clapton would accept, I would blow him for he is a God. But Gilmour should be singing and playing this song. Just my opinion <3

  • talking about trading hero's for ghosts... Bring Gilmour next time plese.

  • ... here in heven

  • "how i wish, how i wish david gilmour was here..."

  • Bunch of jerks saying that Gilmour is greater than Waters. This song, specially, is better in Gilmour's voice, but they're equaly great musicians. Most of the Pink Floyd's lyrics were wrote by Roger Waters, the great brain in the band with Syd Barrett.

  • @gabrielwark it's true pink floyd wouldn't exist without syd barrett, but pink floyd wouldn't have become who they were if it wasn't for the combination of roger waters and david gilmour. pink floyd losing syd barrett could have been the best thing that happened to them. think about it

  • I was monotheistic, but now i have accepted that there are at least TWO God's.

  • Roger sings it just fine. He has to sing in a lower key cuz his voice doesn't go as high as Gilmour's...either way it still sounds good. Just accept it for what it is.

  • pure art Roger

  • Fuck Hugh Grant.

  • this is fucking glorious!

  • Gilmour +1, Roger -infinite...

  • @disadams The Wall, case rested.

  • @olof07 Dogs.

  • Gilmour dose a best job . just watch live 8 youll see , roger and Gilmour do this song together and Gilmour smile cuz roger just kills the song. dont get me wrong , roger can sing his share of songs great but he cant sing this song for shit.

  • Roger is awesome! Fantastic version of his great song.

  • hello there hugh grant ;)

  • wow wanna sing any lower? sounds shit

awesome guitars + chorus, that's about it

  • I meant "like" instead of "live"

  • I don't understand how people that declare themselves PInk Floyd fans continuously attack Roger Waters. If you don't like Roger Waters, if you don't love him, you don't live Pink Floyd!

  • La negra del centro, que trasero tan jugoso.

  • AWESOME

  • I like David Gilmour voice on this song... Sory Roger

  • @ridi97 I like Eric Clapton's guitar on this song, sorry David ;-)

  • magic version

  • the backup singers sound great. They shoulda sang the whole time. And Eric coulda laid off the solo's for the first few bars... but its still a good effort and worth the listen

  • i love eric clapton but david 's solos are so much better

  • it sounds like bob dylan singing...

  • justin bieber..... i said i mention it as it seems to be on every comments section of every song i listen to.I wish he was here I'd give him some bovril

  • I wonder why people always tend to start fighting who´s better and in what...Gilmour and Waters are both on their own level...in their own ways.

About this song, yes Gilmour sings it technically better and that version is pure awesomeness, but think about this exact event and the sad atmosphere where they are playing this one. The more melancholy and down singing type of Waters fitted just perfectly. Awesome performance!

  • Anyone who doubts who the brains and the balls behind Pink Floyd was only has to listen to the Amused to Death album in its entirety. 10 times better than Momentary Lapse of Reason...

  • Matt Damon is talking to his agent and trying to make a drug deal.

  • Matt Damon: "no, I kno,.... Yeah I'm in awe right now. Fucking Roger Waters and Eric Clapton!"

Caller: "wait. Clapton? Gilmour isn't there?

Damon: "well...no sir, but Clapton is tearing it up."

    Caller: ..........

    CLICK.

  • @Majoritis that is hysterically funny

  • ES MUCHO PARA UNA SOLA PERSONA , DOS GRANDES, DE LOS MAS GRANDES

  • rogers and gilmour are caught in something that i call 'harmonic indifference.' i have been in radio for many years and love them both. i have seen the waters solo make a very unrecognized plight. RW is a great singer as is DG. both completely different in what they do. either can pull off PF songs because they are both so instrumental in who PF is. Just enjoy the differences. both are awesome.

  • Gimour's voice is way better than Waters'... It isn't even comparable...

  • Gilmour can piss off. Waters is and always will be Pink Floyd!

  • @SBC233 bro , the Pink Floyd is Barret , Gilmour , Mason , Wright and Waters ... dont only Waters ...

  • Todo bien con Roger pero este tema lo interpreta mejor Gilmour... creo haber leido en mas de un comentario "David Gilmour"... sera por algo...

  • we want gilmour

  • @sexi1708 you want gilmour.

Gilmour is very great but rogers is magic !

  • If only when Roeger Waters says "I wish that you were here", he's thinking of David Gilmour.
