WEll, I thin you're adorable and I LOVE your hair. It's blonde and pretty and those strangers are just pointing because they're jealous. Walk with confidence and stand tall. Even if you are an alien, be proud that you're different! I love Tokyopians. They're really nice and very hospitable.
You weren't kidding when u said that ur hair was long lol what is it that miss about matsue? And do u see yourself going back back to matsue in the future?
Im moving to a small town of about 75,000 people in japan :s any advice for small town living? I have a car too but i think i would be the worst driver in japan
Well, having a car will definitely help you out. It was quite a pain to have to walk everywhere lol. At least with a small population like that the traffic shouldn't be too bad. I think you'll be fine :).
Hello padawankim just wanted to say that I've recently started watching ur blogs about ur experiences in japan and I wanted to let u know I enjoyed them =) lol I still think u should of named ur pet plant hehe and Im gonna agree with cessnaace ur a great story teller and I gotta say I'm a fan of urs lol
Being noticed is stressful. But it leads to being treated as a guest in Japan as you experienced in Tokyo.
Life in a big city in Japan is very convenient and much more secure than other big cities in the world. Go for it if you have a chance to experience it.
On foreigners - yep. Tokyo is a town of 30,000 resident native English speakers and many of those live in a bit of a bubble where they never quite figure out that they are supposed to try and fit in. I think it is good for foreigners to go and live in the countryside for a while. There again, so did Pol Pot...
Love the observations. My first time in Tokyo, I had the opposite experience getting help. In Fukuoka, people would fall over themselves to help me but in Tokyo, trying to look confused, and even ask for help in Shinjuku station and EVERYONE walked past ignoring me.
I have just been in Tokyo for about a week, and the first time I took the train was the most horrible experience ever! I ended up walking around for about 2 hours looking for my train line and I looked at a map for like 5 min but no one came to help me... I wanted to :'( I'm glad to hear that you had a good time in Tokyo though!
Aww, I'm sorry :(. I think we ended up walking around for about 2 hours, too. It was only supposed to take us about 30 minutes to get to our hotel lol. That's too bad no one helped you!
You can't turn a corner here in the Tokyo area without seeing a foreigner. It is kind of a draw back to me to living in this area. I've never heard gaijin desu ne. It kind of makes me a little sad because I feel less spectacular in being here... but I do love that there is something to do any time! The first day I tried to take the trains around here, a Japanese man with amazing English skills helped me! It was nice. I eagerly await your videos from Tokyo!
It seems that you had a good time in Tokyo. That's wonderful! I hope you enjoyed the train ride as well. I know it is loooong but the scenery is guite nice. And you are right, big cities and rural areas are so different. Maybe next time you live in Japan, you will be TokyoKim.
I hated roppongi because of too many foreigners. I stayed in Asakusabashi, close to Akihabara.

You're also a good and interesting story teller. I hope you will continue doing Vlogs after you leave Japan.

Yeah, I've always lived in small towns. It is nice. I would maybe like to experience living in a big city someday, though.

Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun, too bad about the rude foreigners. You must be sad to believing Japan.

C'mon Kim - no one takes a picture of the big fish unless you're a total nuuuube... LOL
Yeah - Matsue IS the big city to us Shimaneans. :P
about 100,000 folks in Matsue vs about 30million in Tokyo... overwhelming for me too when I visited back in Feb.

Hehehe! Yeah, especially when my hometown has a population of about 16,000 lol.
