hey Seniorita, you subscribed to me(thnx) so i thought i would give you some extra information on this device. if you look around you will be able to get for half the price. im actually gonna get one within a month. it also has all the capabilities of a fone but you will need a bluetooth earpiece. it also is not pocketable so its really not an alternative to a fone. hop i helped

but i wantet to aske if it would be meaningfully to exchanche a media pc (normal pc) with the htc shift

I totally agree with jasnodo. I don't see the benefit of a portable pc that's between pocketable and a 12 or even a 14 inch tablet pc. 17 in laptops i think, on the other hand, are too big to carry around. If you have to carry a computing device that won't fit in one of your pockets, you might as benefit from using a screen that's larger 7" and minimize eye strain.

i like the idea of it but i think it is to big it floats between the pda market and the laptop market, in my opinion i think people will choose one of those it is to big to be carryed like a pda and if you want a laptop you will just get one, i love the idea but i cant see people buying it

For almost the same price, I would recommend to buy a much more powerful laptop 17 inches (satellite from Toshiba for example) and buy a PDA such as the HTC TyTN II which is much more portable and has the same hardware specification (keyboard, wifi, Bluetooth, gps,3mps camera,...)

Seriously can you make phone calls with it?

Hugo might be mistaken when he said you cannot. He mistakenly repeated that it ran Ultimate, im pretty sure 60GB HDD is a mistake too.

If you can make phone calls with it I'm buying one.

If you cant make phone calls/send sms etc (all the normal phone functions) then thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard and a gigantic failure and flop lol

you probably can make calls with it but you most likely have to wear a headset or a bluetooth headset or something and he isn't mistaken about the 60GB HDD because it not a normal its pretty much a big memory card inside it HDD well im sure you can do anything a normal phone can do and then some so if i were you i would buy it because i know im gonna lol

Im pretty sure it can because of the htc website it says it has 3G connectivity.

In HTC's website it says: 1.8-inch 40 GB or 60 GB hard disk (manufacturer's option). you can look it up if you want.

i think you can send sms and probably you can make calls but with headphones, because HTC is a phone manufacturer, so that would be stupid.

1.2GHz i think is very little for Windows Vista, but i think it runs pretty well, dont you think?

Anyway it looks like e nice device, i would like to buy it.

what is the purpose of the sim card? can i send an sms with it? will the device function without a sim card inserted...and why did Steve Ballman state that a bluetooth headset would be capable of managing a call? btw beautiful machine

it's a tablet pc and phone. if you haven't got a sim card you can't use the phone functionality(i.e. calls, sms, video call). you can't access the internet thru gprs / 3g, but you can surf with the use of wifi/wlan.

you need a bluetooth headset or a wired headset for voice calls(incoming /outgoing), i mean you don't want to put the massive device on your head when you going to use it to call. :-)
