Ray is just one of those characters who's inherently good but is forced to fight on the side that isn't good. He's like Golbez from FFIV. As much as you'd like him to side with you he won't/can't.

I actually felt sad fighting Ray.

I'm sorry I love this game like no other but I cannot stand re-translations. So many things about them irk me and I like the messed up names and dialog. Special>Deathblow, Bolt X>Valhalla, and Bow>Bosch.
