This time will be different. This is not AoC, Warhammer Online, Aion, LoTRO, or Rift. This game will bring MMO gaming to a new level, and be the new MMO that all the others will get their inspiration from. Just like WoW did.

As soon as GW2 is released I'd expect WoW is going to lose a LOT of members, if not most of the percentage. Either that or Blizzard would have to do something huge to keep them on the same page.

Typical watered down mmo. Nothing exciting here. A bunch of eye candy. Typical Monsters standing around or walking back & forth is one area ready for a player character to attack & kill them while the other monsters also standing about 20 feet away or so, do nothing while a fellow member of their race, army or herd do nothing to help defend against the player. Then typical players running from place to place gathering quest ro run out, kill some monster & run back to turn the quest in.

@ZoKi671 Guild Wars will have both open and instanced pvp. The pvp in GW will return. But then you have the World vs World which is kinda like a Realm vs Realm/Server vs Server type thing. Gonna be crazy.
@ZoKi671 As far as I've heard, WvW will be server vs server gameplay in which you enter the fray with your character as is (whatever level, equips, and such) as soon as you choose to join the battle. And there is no choosing parties or what match you'll be in as WvW is an on-going eternal pvp which decides what world gains favor of the gods for benefits. So there is no zone for WvW, it's an open pvp world you just jump into for the sake of your server.

The release date is still unknown. November is a PREDICTION Gamestop posted. First playable demos will be at Gamescon in Cologne, Germany August 19-22. Many speculate a beta will follow shortly and ArenaNet stated they wanted to release Guild Wars 2 close to open beta. So expect it around Q1 of 2011

@PCgame4life that's why it has a lot of players in the first one :) they know what it's like not having enough money to pay monthly for a game so they want to make it to where a lot of people can play. i advise you to get all 4 guild wars games out right now. you can get the first 3 games for like 30 bucks and then the EOTN expansion pack is like 20-30 bucks so pretty much all 4 games for the price of a new console game and there is so much stuff to do :)
@etpark5 I have guild wars nightfall and i dont like it one bit. I ain't got a problem with paying monthly fee its just some MMO's are good but you dont want to play it every day until your reach a high lvl. I think if its going to be a monthly fee MMO it needs to be the best to get a big community otherwise ppl will stick to the MMO they like. Only a complete low life muppet would pay a monthly subcription to multiple MMO's.
I am very curious what the system specs will be... Cause I cannot run Assasin's Creed on this laptop... But, I think they will have an eye for lower specced people :)

@joshXdave Well the graphic's in guild war's have always been better than WoW...but they decided in guild wars 2 , to make it even better. They decided to finaly make a WoW game style for the player, but they took it one step further with "Persistant world's" Which hasnt been done before....So that is gonna be epic...like if "I blow up a bridge, and you wana cross it..you gotta wait till someone fixes it, and this will apply to everyone who wants accross".

@tashand Haha, having played FFXIV alpha and now playing the beta I'd say if you liked FFXI go with both, since only 1 has a reoccurring fee. ^.^

@Zandrake0191 Its a sensible thing to do to not get too attached to a mmo buy spending too much money and time on it cause games get dated and new ones come out. I know gamers spending thousands and thousands of dollars on an mmo, they will reget it eventually.

The release date is still unknown. November is a PREDICTION Gamestop posted. First playable demos will be at Gamescon in Cologne, Germany August 19-22. Many speculate a beta will follow shortly and ArenaNet stated they wanted to release Guild Wars 2 close to open beta. So expect it around Q1 of 2011

@PCgame4life that's why it has a lot of players in the first one :) they know what it's like not having enough money to pay monthly for a game so they want to make it to where a lot of people can play. i advise you to get all 4 guild wars games out right now. you can get the first 3 games for like 30 bucks and then the EOTN expansion pack is like 20-30 bucks so pretty much all 4 games for the price of a new console game and there is so much stuff to do :)

@etpark5 I have guild wars nightfall and i dont like it one bit. I ain't got a problem with paying monthly fee its just some MMO's are good but you dont want to play it every day until your reach a high lvl. I think if its going to be a monthly fee MMO it needs to be the best to get a big community otherwise ppl will stick to the MMO they like. Only a complete low life muppet would pay a monthly subcription to multiple MMO's.

alot of ppl say "WoW has no chance after ........" Warhammer, Age of conan, Everquest, etc. but it never died.. i aint saying WoW is the best MMORPG but alot of people plays it, and with Cata there will just be even more players.

@Nicro327 i just wanted to point out that, everytime a new mmo comes out, they go like ahh wow sucks, and this game will beat it. but it never has (Well not entirely). and these games i listed is just some random games that came through my mind. Perhaps you never seen these kinda comments before but i have. just wanted to point out that WoW is one of the greates MMORPG's ever, and guild wars 2 looks awsome, but if it gets more players than wow, only time will tell.Hope you got my point this time

@MrSic100 I would very much like it if the 7 year old WoW players never shift to GW2 though. In WoW I met people like them, and if I tried to help them, they would start screaming over the mic and stuff about how they are better than me when I'm lvl 80 and they are like lvl 40.
