let's put it this way if i own a store and i can either hire 1 person at $40 an hour or hire 5 people at $8 an hour. reasons dictate that the later is a better choice for a company.
Lol I am a cashier at Wal-mart. One of the assistant managers came through my till and was a total jackass to me. He walked away and hit a customer with his cart. The customer was pissed and I had to calm him down. 10 minutes later they call me into the back office. And the person above the Manager that came through my till told me this is my first warnign and that I was very rude to the Assistant manager. I was amazed. I was actually speechless.
I get a kick how some of the customers treat the employees like trailer trash. Had one customer tonight who thought he was a Privileged customer who could speak to an employee how ever he wanted to. The employee was me and the customer found out quickly that was not the case. Of course I no linger work for Wal-Mart, I walked out after I finished with the customer. I had gotten sick and tired of employees who wanted the check but did not want to work. Then you have the customers....
@TheRubberDuck139 Then you have the customers who feel they can treat an employee like a piece of trash. Bullshit, I have quit better jobs than this. I have never been treated so poorly in my life by an employer or a customer in my life. I picked up the job just to make a little extra cash. I figured that after I got done with the rude customer I had two choices. 1. Get fired (which was going to happen, or 2. quit and walk out with some dignity. I chose number 2.
nitajo45 i can tell you have no clue wtf your talking about i worked HARD for them aksed nothing and for a thank your they fired me because a manger coached me for here say your cant do that then she said she has stuff on security tape never gave me a copy or provied one for my case so shes full of it
i worked at store 1203 ruskin fl i am white and male only people who got away with stuff there was lantinos and mangers i have have the manger who fired me telling all on tape they tryed to take my unembloyment away and lost HEY WALMART JUST BECAUSE YOUR THE BIG NOW DONT MEAN SOME ONE ELS CAN COME ALONG AND BE JUST AS BIG
You have to fight for wage increases if that means unions or whatever. You have to threaten them or you'll get nothing. Wal Mart is nothing more than a cheap sweat shop labor exploiter. They exploit and encourage cheap foreign sweat shop slave labor and US laborers down on their luck to make a profit for avery few wealthy. This eploitation has been allowed to take place by trade deals passed through congress by paid off congressmen. You have to fight fire with fire.
@Freedan111 Why are you a scumbag? Why are you above other human beings? Why are you arrogant and cocky? Why are you ignorant to the root cause of their argument? Why don't you understand that in order to become a billion dollar corporation, people had to be taken advantage of? Why are you blind to the fact WalMart can pay livable wages but will not because its shareholders are more important? Why are you a douche-bag? Why did your father shoot his load in your mother instead of on?
Cry some more please. No one is FORCED to work at Wal-Mart. if you are to fucking stupid/lazy to find a better job then you have ONLY yourself to blame.
It's not the job that people do not like, it is the treatment and poor pay. When I worked for them in 98 it was supplemental to my husbands income so it was fine. Now, it's my only income as I make it thru nursing school while raising my daughter. With the economy being the way it is the advice on find another job is a joke. Why is it wrong for people to want to keep a job and demand more pay?
It's a shame and shows the mentality of those of you that think nothing is wrong with working for one of the largest retailers in the world for years and still be living paycheck to paycheck because your income is under the poverty level. That a family of four has to have govenrment assistance to make ends meet after putting in 40 hours a week at walmart. People like you is what is wrong with our country, not people asking for more pay!
I know plenty of employees from walmart that have been there for years and have watched employee benefits and perks disappear. I worked for them in 98 and there has been a huge decrease in benefits and perks at walmart. The only thing that has stayed the same is pay! The cart pushers that were recently pushing carts around during a tropical storm at our store so customers could get in and out and have dry carts are paid 7.35 an hour. 7.00/hr was what i started at in 1998.
Also, people standing up for what they believe in, whether it's equal rights, more pay, etc. is what this country is all about. If people never "gave lip" as nitajo45 put it then we would all be working for less than we are now and Amercia would have its own sweatshops instead of hiding them in the countries where people aren't allowed to have a voice.
I work at Walmart. I'm a single mother, work 28- 35 hours a week and am attending nursing school fulltime. I appreciate what I have. I do not agree with saying that Americans that are speaking out about low pay and unfair treatment are not hard, good workers. I worked as a part of management years ago for walmart, so I have been on both sides. As a supplemnetal income walmart is fine, but not to support an entire family.
@Tails0600 ok then you know you have to work for your money so what is it that you want ? nothing is free and until you finish your college then maybe you will be in charge of employees and then you can see what they are going through and then you will see things differently. you cant put the owners of walmart down because they probably started just like you ...thats life.....until you get where you are going in life , you cant change it .
ok walmart employees if you dont like the people you work for then find another job. These days maybe you should be glad that you have a job instead of bitching. if you didnt go to college or didnt graduate then feel lucky that walmart will hire you at all. they have a right to make money . its called capitalism. Its how the US became the great country it is.. so just stop it already.I guess you think that they should just give you a check and let you stay home.

@DarrelfromZeeland you are so right... some people would love to have those jobs and do what it takes to keep that job.. its crazy , people have no respect anymore... they all want something for nothing...
@nitajo45 It's a sad fucking day when Mexicans make 100 times better workers than Americans. Mexicans appreciate what they have and don't give any lip. They definitely don't have the huge sense of entitlement that Americans have. No respect anymore. This is what happens when we ban God from our schools, ban the paddle, abolish the draft, and allow unions, rock music, rap, the ACLU, and liberalism in general to exist.
@nitajo45 I've worked for walmart for 12 fucking years and only make 3 dollars more than what I made when I first started. They raise there insurance every year. They hire only part time asso. now so they don't have to pay benifits or insurance covarage or very little. A dress code...that you have to buy yourself thats not tax deductable. They will fire you for any little thing to make you fear them. I went to college and graduated...it's hard to find a job out there. I am a walmart vet.
@TheZowwee i worked hard for 3 years i wanted to do security and grow with them then i got written up for something i did not do and started to fight it the person who did do it when to my manger and said he did it wrote him up to i was not a manger or any thing how is that fair and it was just a few days b4 my wife gave birth to my lil girl all i know is things are not right with the company its time something was done i have my manger on tape they tryed to take my unemployment away i won
@nitajo45 u have no clue what your talking about or saying u got to be a kid talking like you know something well im 31 been there did that still learning and u never know who has collage or a highschool daploma here is some thing u dont know i worked there i worked with a man who had YEARS of collage cant get a job teaching because he has to much dont talk about what you dont know kid you have no clue walmart is a big nasty monster that needs to come down
@TheDadrobb I am 46 yrs old, dont tell me that I dont know what I am talking about .walmart is not suppose to be paying 100,000 a yearThe economy is really bad right now. people have to do what they have to do in order to survive. no one ever said that life was gonna be perfect.Geez you kids have this MEME altitude. you are not entitled to have every single thing that you want. you have to work for the things you want. I have worked my entire life Nothing is ever as good as you want
@TheDadrobb Walmart owes you nothing. no one owes you a thing.I dont understand the young people today.. it seems like they think that because a company doesnt give them what they want , it makes them bad people. life is hard for everyone.not just you .and money is not everything.....but life is hard.and it always will be.so dont blame others.some are just lucky and some work hard to get what they have why should they have to give it away just because you think they should.
@nitajo45 ok the hell they dont they owe me and my family big i hace all ways held a job as soon as i was old enough money is not every thing your nuts money makes the world go wrong i cant tell teco hey dont shut off my power pay u haha money is not everything i worked hard from the i worked deli seafood meats instock toy ect... never asked a thing but as soon as a manger messed up and i tryed to fight it bam its my job not hers for messing up
@nitajo45 your on crack your telling me after all the work i did for them stayed late came in on days off and after getting fired for something i did not even do they dont owe me hahahah well i got it on tape the state of fl vs me and i wone the judge even said u can go on what others say
@nitajo45 and really college what does that mean i worked with a man who is doc neil whoed in seafood had so much college whould not get a job teaching he had to much of a education for his field so he has to work for bs pay, i got paid good just got treated like scum for nothing well im white and all the spanish people got away with crap but any how
@nitajo45 You are a typical idiot who looks at things from the inside out, rather from the outside in. #1. Just because people didn't have $32,000 a year to buy a piece of paper stating they are now employable is not the problem. #2. Going from one corporation who takes advantage of its workers to another, isn't the problem. #3.Feeling lucky in America cause you have a job isn't the problem. #4. I'm not going to tell you the problem cause you're to ignorant to not see it already!
Jesse Ventura and Alex Jones should consider having Rob Walton of Walmart with like minded people, associations and supporters exchange information with their critics to find out who speaks the truth. Or to exchange information and have public debates like the do in criminal trials. Nonviolent peaceful organizations with research to sift out fiction from facts.
I really got under your skin, didn't I? You already prove that your life right now isn't something you are proud of. Why aren't you trying to change yourself/life instead of blaming it on somebody/something else? Passing the blame is easy, man up and face yourself in the mirror.
Are you Working at Wal-Mart? Do you hate Wal-Mart? Do you make Minimum wage or close to it? If you answered yes to all these questions then CONGRADULATIONS you are a loser in life. I hope this fills you with pride in knowing that no one cares about your life.
Why would anyone want to hire a whiney little bitch like you? Are you out there trying to find a better job? No, you are waiting for someone to offer you a better job. Lazy assholes like you deserve to be poor for the rest of your sad life.
It's funny how people like you bitch and moan about Wal-Mart but you still work for Wal-Mart. Don't like where you work? QUIT or STFU. Have a nice day.
carnut476 supports Walmart like so many that accuse their critics or being liars or that they hate white people without credible proof especially court cases.
It is best if you do not watch or listen to critics of Walmart and just observe their pledges with their actual deeds. I suggest that everyone who supports them, should buy and read the book "Made in America" co-written by Sam Walton to compare the book with what Rob Walton and his management actually do. Google Sam's Club 6625+Management.
an average pay of $10.86?!?!?! wow I with 5 plus years of retail and a formal education had to plea for $8.25 a whole quarter less for my "college" job. And get trated like crap. Sad to say the CEO and I are fellow alumni....
also, the only stocker in the history of the ephrata store to do 280 cases an hour, while most do 70 an hour or a bit more, but doesnt mean anything,(costumers watch in awe which is kinda nice)i think HARD work should mean something no matter where your working, just my opinion :)
bla bla if U work hard at any job,you should get paid more then the slackers around you.I was in construction, have worked concrete for 5 years, and a bit of plumbing, got deppressed a while back quite my good paying job, then got a job at walmart nightshift,i work just as hard stocking shelves in the water/soda and juice sections as i did doing conrete all day outside, and get paid much less,i find that amusing. Im lifting 25 to 100 pounds over and over.
walmart should just hire all mexicans... no complaints & no lawsuits... mexicans really do the work and actually give good customer service... so much better than those lazy ghetto ass blacks & whites
Easier said then done, bud. Have you seen the economy? It's been likes this for well over 10 years. How many high paying jobs that don't require you to have gone to college or university for 15+ years have you seen posted around? Zero....
@CAFTait Exactly! Which is why these fourth-grade dropouts should get on their knees and thank Walmart for hiring them when no other company will. Ungrateful bastards.
After four years, I was at 11.30 an hour. They denied me seventy-five cents an hour pay increases with no reason (I asked for one and was denied). I was hired narrowly before they started the pay cap but they got rid of me when they could.
i made $10,40 hrly wrkn night shift also day shift throwin trucks. there is good things an bad things in all company u dont like how you treated find a new job quit crying
While I despise dirty tactics of getting rid of people right before benefits kick in and other nonsense, you have to remember it is a market economy.
Arguments like "living wage" are unfounded. Most walmart jobs are low skill level, and thus low-paying. You are not designed to be able to support a family off a minimum wage job. Such jobs provide work experience and opportunity for a person to move onto bigger and better things. You want more money, become more skilled. Lose the entitlement
at my store, they are gettin rid of all full time ppl, and ppl who been there for a long time or who get payed more. they are gettin rid of 1 full time person and gettin 2 part time ppl at less pay... now this isnt fair....im suppose to be full time, but i barely work 33-35 hours a week!
because it's retail. you don't even need a highschool diploma to work there. if you compare it to other retail positions it actually pays more. i know someone who works there and they get paid more there as an associate then when they were a manager at another store.
Where the hell did you get that $8.23/hour "average pay" figure from?? I've seen many OTHER studies suggesting that Walmart CLEARLY pays its employees pretty close to the industry average.
Walmart Watch is NOT a "source." Tell us the ORIGINAL source for that claim!
Just because YOU'VE had bad experiences at Walmart, you REALLY think it's ok to extrapolate that to the WHOLE Walmart set of employees? HOW would you know that most Walmart employees feel this way? Did you interview em? Did you do a random poll?
@whoo689 They started me off at $8.10 an hour and I do one of the hardest, most labor intensive jobs there. I'm also a single man in my mid 20's an that's not even enough for me to live let alone people with families. Also, a lot of the bad things people are reporting about are unfortunately true. I've seen it and experienced it. I know who work at a brand new store that just opened up who are also reporting bad experiences. The older associates say that things were far better 20 years ago.
@JonErich 8.10 shit they started me out at 7.30 an hour I just quit today!! did you unload trucks thats what I did I unloaded trucks from 4pm to 1am and Im part time lmao!! WTF!!
@oAINGIRYo Yeah, I unload trucks and work 4pm to 1am. Where are you from? What they start you out may very from state to state. Also, I work full time so that may have something to do with it. Still, someone in that position should be paid more, I'm not sure where you're from, but what they were paying you is what a lot of fast food places would pay 16 year olds in Maryland.
@JonErich I from Az yea it really low pay for even here thats minimum wage!! We should get paid a whole lot more for what we do at that store! I would even hear it from csm's and Asm's saying we had the hardest job in the store all the time! but I think everyone at walmart should get paid more! damn slave mart lmao!
It's RETAIL, you dipshits! Retail workers, unless they're managers or something like that, usually DON'T MAKE A LOT! So WHAT? These jobs were never intended as careers. They're low-skill menial labor. Go tell someone who gives a shit.
I don't see why you're not also targeting Target or Kmart. Yes... Target and Kmart treat their employees SOOO WELL. Come on... This walmart-only hate is ridiculous. Admit it. Get a life.
Since when is the fact that a corporation makes BILLIONS somehow a reason for you to bitch and say, "Aha! Look how much they're making. Give me more of that as an employee, rather than helping me improve my skills and be a more valuable worker, because you've got enough to share"? You people are morons
PROVIDE FOR OUR FAMILIES??? Uh... these jobs are NOT intended to be CAREERS! It's menial labor that almost ANYONE with enough training could easily get the hang of. It's LOW-SKILL, in other words. It's not fucking rocket science. I don't see why you feel ENTITLED to be paid "enough to provide for my family" when walmart could easily replace you with someone who DOESN'T need as much money.
@whoo689 There are a lot of people who work at Walmart who literally have no place else to go. People who have had careers for over 30 years who were laid off because their jobs no longer exist. They are in their 60's and have two choices. They can go to college which is expensive and hope they can get a new career before they die or they can go to Walmart, one of the few places that'll hire these kinds of people in a bad economy. So why can't Walmart give just a little more?
I appreciate your good intentions, but its not a charity. Labor is a matter of supply and demand. As long as there is plentiful supply of cheap, unskilled labor, they won't raise wages. Therefore, if you want more money, make yourself more skilled, and thus in greater demand.
@whoo689 Actually you're wrong. Walmart in particular encourages people to stay with propaganda posters saying that 70% of Walmart managers start out as hourly associates. So these kinds of places are intended to be places where you can build careers. Also, why does Walmart get attacked more than the other stores? Because unlike other places, Walmart builds it's reputation around a single man who died almost 20 years ago and who's morals died along with him.
I have yet to hear a solid argument against Walmart.
I worked at a grocery store for 4 1/2 years. I made the choice that it did not pay well enough, and I got an Engineering Degree, and have been an Engineer for 4 years now.
Guess, what, I had to work hard to get to where I am, a lot of late nights studying. Instead of complaining, how about your work at walmart, maybe you should focus on furthering your own career. Complaining is a lot easier though.
its simple people greed,i worked for walmart for 5 years, when sam died all his concepts and beliefs and wat he built that company on,died with him, poor sam is probably still rolling over in his grave with wat his family and top executives are doing with his company, the 3 beliefs of walmart, dont excist anymore,or how many they are i forget
...you have all been possined by your employer with flicker light tech, inspect the water cooler for mind dumbing incredient such as lithium or ketamine;
~you must rise up and defeat this beast which you and the customers have breath life into , collect evidence imdediately, amass a class action lawsuit for dammages inflict on you body, mind, spirt and souls walmart slaves, your redemtion is nie,
=if you don't fuck it up, you will own the new co-operative that arrises out of the Walmart dust !
Lets get something straight Freedan11 Walmart is NOT union and with the millions of unemployed who have run out of unemployment and Walmart near you may be hiring...WE take those jobs if we are offered them...so yeah I guess it sucks to be us workin a job we can't stand hoping we get back into the workforce we once had...I hear them while I shop over the "intercom" rounding up employees like sheep. I say let employees strike union or not and see what happens?
If you continue to work hard just to be broke and poor, YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID. Quit the fucking job and get a real job that pays better. But you won't because it's tooooooo haarrrrrddd!!!
Don't say something like that. You like being able to go to any grocery store you like any day of the week, don't you? Well, if we didn't have people working those jobs we wouldn't have those stores. Someone's gotta do the job.
Someone does have to do the job. They are called Highschool/College students. If you are working in a grocery store (unless you own it or is managment) then don't expect to raise a family on your wages. If you can't get a better job because you lack the skills or your choices you made in life, I'm sorry but you made your bed, now lay in it.
@Freedan111 The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Who in all honesty is ever 100% satisfied with their jobs? The answer is NO ONE, and people who think otherwise are seriously delusional. People in retail work retail because that's all that's available-even many college graduates find themselves in retail because those might be the only jobs hiring. But the point is if we all up and left whenever we were unhappy with our jobs, we would all be unemployed.
If you are in a job that you are unhappy with. You have no one else to blame but yourself. Take some personal responsibility for your choices. It's not Walmart's fault that you can't support a family of 4 on what they pay. Do you think you could support a family of 4 working at McDonald as a fry cook?
@Freedan111 You obviously don't get what I am saying, and I doubt you even read all of what I wrote. Are you happy with YOUR job all the time? You mean to tell me you have not once ever complained about a single thing concerning your job? Yeah, I don't think so.
My wage and benefits out weight my complaints, which I have very little of. My biggest gripe at work is when the bathroom runs out of paper towel. Good pay, good benefits, yep I think I can live with not having paper towels to wipe my hands every now and then.
You don't have to be miserable at work but you CHOSE to work at a place that makes you miserable. It sucks to be you if you are working a job you can't stand.
@Freedan111 What kind of utopia fantasy world are you living in? I wish in reality we did have those choices you're speaking of. Working somewhere is always a "choice". What a joke-tell that to the college graduate who had a nice job then got laid off and is forced to take a job at Wal-mart because that's all who's hiring.
So someone from Wal-Mart drag that college grad to Wal-Mart's office and made him sign a work contract with Wal-Mart? Damn. I'm with you now, it's shameful how Wal-Mart abducts college grads off the street and force them to take a job. There should be a law or something that says high school grads and college grads aren't allowed to work at Wal-Mart. That would make everyone happy right?
@Freedan111 I doubt you have any idea what Wal-mart is like. It is not just the wages that upsets the employees, it's the very bad direction that the company has taken in the past few years, and dealing with the callous and incompetent management, that does. Most associates are now doing the work of five people with so little time to work, not to mention getting called up front to help check, then they get hollered at by management because their departments are a mess and projects don't get done
Walmart does not pay $10 or anything close unless your a manager or assistant, which are company puppets and arse kissers. When the living relatives of walmart pass away and are sent to hell they will give answer to god for the untold greed and evil that they have imposed on their average workers. They would import chinese workers to their stores like they do mehicans if they could get away with it.Robin Williams said it best"it's easy to be a dickhead, all you need is a head and be a dick".
I am talking about this topic for my business and technology course. Yeah, I agree that some Walmart employees love to complain but refuse to change their old ways. They have to work and show others that they deserve extra money or whatever.
What's fair is fair.
Whoever thinks that Walmart is evil might be evil himself/herself.
There is nothing wrong about Walmart in my opinion.

I just don't understand why they need all that money. I mean, I've just found out what M. Duke earns in a year (More than 19 million dollars) and I just don't get it. What does he want that much money for? Only by donating 2 of those 19 million to employees it would make their lives a bit more affordable and he would be losing cents, 'cos 2 million dollars are cents for him. I just can't understand why they 're so greedy.
"Hey Wal-mart"I promise you I have stolen over $5,000 worth of shit from you(in 2010 alone). Thanks for my new ipod you fucken Dumb motherfuckers, catch me if you can bitches.
If you are looking for a job... Try your absolute best NOT to apply at this shit hole of a company... I'm a part time produce associate, started 3 days ago, and am already starting to regret this job. After watching the company brainwash videos about how this is the best associate friendly company, and, seeing how the managers treat the staff after the training, I quickly knew it was a bunch of b.s. Fuck this job, I'm going to college!!!
matter, well that's false. They're an important part of the system, and when it works, it works well. When companies like Wal-Mart find ways to cheat the system, and treat people like dirt, then it's shit. I'm pro-capitalism, anti-Wal-Mart. Just because I think Wal-Mart is a piece of shit doesn't mean I'm a communist. I'd just prefer our businesses were run with some sort of character.
I don't really have a problem with them paying employees minimum wage, after all, their only legal obligation in that situation is to AT LEAST pay that amount. What I do have a problem with is not allowing the workers to unionize, crushing any sort of employee-run groups, making health care benefits too expensive for employees to afford, and for making people work 39 hours a week so they don't have to give them full time employee benefits. People act as if, in capitalism, the workers don't
From the day they fucked me over and fired me unjustly, I refuse to even step foot in a Walmart. The evil and corruption I saw going on within those walls. The managers fucking the employees, cutting our hours to 20 hours a week, but lying and saying we were working 40, pocketing the extra money. Paying kids overseas to make their garbage and sell it pennies cheaper than everyone else to put other companies out of business. FUCK WALMART!!!!!
@pinkypimpalicous You forgot to add listing people as part time but working them full time, so they didn't have to pay ins for them. And under staffing. And making the workers work overtime but cut it at the last min cause WalMart doesn't allow over time. And poor treatment, especially to women and even more so pregnant women.I was 8 months prego and was made to move furniture weighting over 100 lbs while a man mang. stood and told me I better not ask for help."It's not walmarts fault you got prego"
@tpfastback CORRECT! I noticed walmart treats women like crap, especially if they are pregnant. They put ONE person in a department and expect them to do the work of 5 or more and they schedule you 6 hours and expect 8 hours of work to be done. You will NEVER get help when you need it, managers are useless when you need help but surely hiding around the corner watching you, waiting for you to slip up so they can coach or fire you. They are heartless robots.
I work at WalMart in a very small conservative town, employees are worked like plow horses and only the kiss ass brown nosers get any attention from the higher ups. In this town you're very lucky to even have a job so quitting isn't an option for most of us.
Holy shit. IT'S A FREE MARKET, if you are upset with your pay, you get the fuck out.
This is hilarious, it's business, if the employees are getting treated like shit, it means that they have found out you're not worth much, or that the supply of Walmart workers is large. Likely it's the latter.
So go out, get an education or a skill (RESEARCH FIRST, MAKE SURE THE POSITION IS IN DEMAND) And go get that fucking job!
@ScotterS69 its not a FREE MARKET jackass.....its a MIXED MARKET..if your going to throw out economic terms, throw out the right ones. If it were a FREE MARKET, then Walmart would hire 10 year olds to do the work and pay them 10 cents a day.
What everyone here is bitching about is essentially that they want more regulation. In general, the more you regulate, the more you hurt the economy, there are exceptions. Raising minimum wage is not one of them.
The beauty of the free market, yes I'm talking about a free market, is that you can do whatever you set your mind to. If you decide to turn your mind off, you end up at a Walmart. And no one here would hire 10 year olds for 10 cents a day, even in a free market.
@ScotterS69 Actually, it's not a "free market" it's almost all been bought, sold and paid for by small groups of people who already have too much. If anyone tried to start up a buisness to challenge them, Walmart would bury them within the first month. Communism offers more freedom than capitalism now. Capitalism is out of control with companies like this utilizing their multi trillion dollar financial wrecking ball to kill off other buisnesses. Then they start a recession to finish the job.
just found out that the tires that wal-mart sells as "new" are actually tires that the tire companies found to be not up to specifications and are usually years old...your strongly recommended to replace your tires when they are 6 years old regardless of tread wear.....
people say just quit but i've tried that and there isnt many jobs out there besides burger king and mcdonalds. the economy forced me to go back several times.
I work at wal-mart as an unloader and we make the least amount of money. In my opinion we should be getting double what the rest of the store gets. If you want to lose weight this is a job for you. They should take the lawn and gardens associates salary and give it to the backroom associates because we do all the work.
That sounds pretty good to me if you consider a spouse and 2 non working children. If both Parents worked at Wal-mart they would be making almost 40k a year. Which isn't great but not bad either. Way to be deceptive.
Also since when did Americans decide you should make a living wage at any job. It's not like working at Wal-Mart is a skilled trade. If you can't support yourself on one job then guess what, you need to get another job.
walmart does what ever they feel .. they make billions a year and doesnt pay employees sht my wife works there .. and we can barely afford to keep our electric on we get cutt off notices 2 times a month for being behind......
people who complain about walmart employees get a job their if it is so easy if you think they make tons of money for doing nothing quit your jobs if you think this is where the money is at
keep hiring high school kids who use walmart to get away from parents telling them to get a job keep hiring minors who have no sense what the average shopper wants
WHENEVER WE GO INTO OUR LOCAL WALMART WE ALWAYS SEE ALOT OF THE "WORKERS" JUST WALKING AROUND DOING NOTHING...SOMETIMES THEY ARE YOUNGER PEOPLE STANDING AROUND TALKING TO THEIR FRIENDS WHO COME IN THE STORE...HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE EXPECT TO BE PAID $10.00 AN HOUR FOR SOMETHING THEY CAN DO AT HOME FOR FREE....TALKING TO FRIENDS THERE OR ON A CELL PHONE...REALLY WHERE ARE THEY WHEN SOMEONE TRULLY NEEDS SOME HELP AROUND THERE??
Are you talking about Management? I worked in Electronics, I did not even have enough time to take a shit, never mind stand around and talk. If we get caught standing around doing nothing, we can get coached or fired for " Stealing company time". Only CSM, ZSM, Assistant, and store managers stand around and do nothing.
all they do is put stuff on shelves...how do they deserve anything over minimum wage? people working fastfood do more "work"....and get paid way less...you don't here them complaining.
i have worked full time for wal mart for some time now and our store absolutely refuses to give full time employees 40 hours, we only get around 35 hours a week on average, sometimes less. and as for the wages i make right at 10$ an hour and ive been there 5 years, it makes me sick to go to work anymore, currently looking for a new job
It's called making money, go shop somewhere else you dumb cunts. Who says that they can't do that? If you hate your job, get a new one you dumb niggers. Get multiple sources of income, so you don't have to deal with that shit.
are piss water a bigger compoant then walmart fagg an all i see is everyone not workin in a walmart complaing about there schedule an pay but they do nothin personnaly i think there milkin the cloack 4 hours out of an 7 hour shift an doin nothin but gettin in the way of us venders u gotto really walk by my palllett 123 times every ten minutes
not to mention, i get a 40 cent raise every year for doing a mediocre job. i used to work in fast food restaurants and would not get paid nearly as much as i did at sams club. if you dont like the job, then fucking leave. somebody else will be glad to take your job. the company doesnt owe you anything except a paycheck.
i, myself work at a sams club and you ppl need to stop bitching about wages. they pay more than minimum wage for us to do work that is not even that tough. i make $9.50 an hour to stock and crush cardboard. a lot of ppl getting paid minimum wage would kill to have my job.
i work part time in warehouse stocking auto parts and make 11 an hour before that i worked as a custoian for a caprentry shop making 8.10 i know im a student but if walmart wants a better image with the public they will have to give out more cash i rather doubt this reccession is hurting them anyway
Hi There, I'm your Walmart store manager. I sit in the office all day, except for 10 minutes every 6 months when I go onto the floor and put 2 items on the shelf to show how I'm down with the Assocates. I look real cool with that earpiece and walkie. I am such a tight ass that I squeak when I walk. Your child needs to go to the hospital and you'e calling out the day before going on maternity leave? That's 2 points out of 3 (1 for calling out and 1 for maternity leave)! Hey rules is rules.
You spent hours putting up that mod? It looks good but you know....I've changed my mind. Now I want it taken down and rebuilt over there. I'd love to help you but I have morning meeting to attend to. That squiggle is very important, without it the other managers would be sad. Get to it then, cause I got a fresh new pack of green sheets (termination forms) today. Haha those things run out quick ya know!
lazy walmart ppl should make less lol only ppl make a paycheck are the lazesit the managers an whoever says other are lien even the employess crap on them 14 hundred cases in one day with 4 other stores lets trade will see who lazy
pwatever we stand around im praying to god i get done on time everyday even walmart employess admit to me there lazy an therte managers lol34 managers have u ever seen them work i bet not they walk around nagging everyone an t5he lockers wtf u get a token everytime u go to the lockers or somethingf i averagly see the same employee at the locker betwwen an average of 23 to 45 times in a lazy lol u crazy workin 14 hundred cases then goin to 4 more stores in a 8 \9 hour shift were lazy nigger
Strange...there is no Target Watch. Why is that? Could it be that they treat their employees fairly and the mangement aren't chosen from among the biggest dicks in the store? Too bad Target has such a low turn over or I'd go back to working there again.
Oh yeah- Walmart does pay it's employees approximately $10 an hour- Guess how much management makes- they factor that into the average- average worker makes 8 and hour and the managers make about $100 in some stores- Yes $100 an hour- Serveral managers earn over 250k anually-
I know this is going to sound mean- DON'T WORK THERE (when the ecomonomy turns around)- In this economy we take what we can get I took almost a 20k anual pay cut last year- When the ecomomy turns around don't work there. They will continue to pay people what they pay so long as they can find staff. If they lost 20-40% of there staff and can't hire more guess what happens- they increase the rate of pay until they can fill the positions- It is a simple case of supply and demand.
walmart dont care about the employees use them then get rid of them i was just fired from walmart for fighting a write up that had nothing to do with me no im out of a job 2 kids one is 5 one is a new born, at the store i cam from 1203 in ruskin fl its not how hard u work but its your skin color and who u are kiss up to and haveing sex with
Attention Walmart Employees, if we roll back your wages, we save our customers even more money! Our stockholders make more money, and you as the non-important but necesary part of our operation have GOVERNMENT acess to many benefits that we provide in tax dollars to the same GOVERNMENT that provides you welfare; thank you for shopping WELFAREMART
@lkevins1 That's exactly what I think when I see there commercials. but as for me I go the Meijer they have better quality food at better prices.......!
I hate ppl who have to complain about how much they get paid after they willingly AGREE to sell their labor for said amount and then have the temerity to complain after the fact. Many workers have advanced the chain and have become executives. Bad bitchy attitudes will not advance your career, and what business is it of yours how much shareholders make unless YOU own the stock? None! Low skilled jobs are paid less naturally through supply/demand, want a higher salary? Sell a skill few ppl have.
let's put it this way if i own a store and i can either hire 1 person at $40 an hour or hire 5 people at $8 an hour. reasons dictate that the later is a better choice for a company.

TheRubberDuck139 1 month ago
@TheRubberDuck139 Then you have the customers who feel they can treat an employee like a piece of trash. Bullshit, I have quit better jobs than this. I have never been treated so poorly in my life by an employer or a customer in my life. I picked up the job just to make a little extra cash. I figured that after I got done with the rude customer I had two choices. 1. Get fired (which was going to happen, or 2. quit and walk out with some dignity. I chose number 2.

Why do you work at Wal-Mart and think that it's a job that can support a family?
Why don't you quit and find a better job?
Why do you insist that your low skill labor is worth more than minimum wage?
Why do you work at Wal-Mart if it's really that bad?
Why do people line around the store when there are job openings?
Why do people hate Wal-Mart?

@Freedan111 Why are you a scumbag? Why are you above other human beings? Why are you arrogant and cocky? Why are you ignorant to the root cause of their argument? Why don't you understand that in order to become a billion dollar corporation, people had to be taken advantage of? Why are you blind to the fact WalMart can pay livable wages but will not because its shareholders are more important? Why are you a douche-bag? Why did your father shoot his load in your mother instead of on?

It's not the job that people do not like, it is the treatment and poor pay. When I worked for them in 98 it was supplemental to my husbands income so it was fine. Now, it's my only income as I make it thru nursing school while raising my daughter. With the economy being the way it is the advice on find another job is a joke. Why is it wrong for people to want to keep a job and demand more pay?
lilcajun70 4 months ago
And if you want to be taken seriously, or come off as being as educated as you say you are.....use spell check people! Really???
lilcajun70 4 months ago
It's a shame and shows the mentality of those of you that think nothing is wrong with working for one of the largest retailers in the world for years and still be living paycheck to paycheck because your income is under the poverty level. That a family of four has to have govenrment assistance to make ends meet after putting in 40 hours a week at walmart. People like you is what is wrong with our country, not people asking for more pay!
lilcajun70 4 months ago
I know plenty of employees from walmart that have been there for years and have watched employee benefits and perks disappear. I worked for them in 98 and there has been a huge decrease in benefits and perks at walmart. The only thing that has stayed the same is pay! The cart pushers that were recently pushing carts around during a tropical storm at our store so customers could get in and out and have dry carts are paid 7.35 an hour. 7.00/hr was what i started at in 1998.
lilcajun70 4 months ago
Also, people standing up for what they believe in, whether it's equal rights, more pay, etc. is what this country is all about. If people never "gave lip" as nitajo45 put it then we would all be working for less than we are now and Amercia would have its own sweatshops instead of hiding them in the countries where people aren't allowed to have a voice.
lilcajun70 4 months ago
I work at Walmart. I'm a single mother, work 28- 35 hours a week and am attending nursing school fulltime. I appreciate what I have. I do not agree with saying that Americans that are speaking out about low pay and unfair treatment are not hard, good workers. I worked as a part of management years ago for walmart, so I have been on both sides. As a supplemnetal income walmart is fine, but not to support an entire family.
lilcajun70 4 months ago
@Tails0600 ok then you know you have to work for your money so what is it that you want ? nothing is free and until you finish your college then maybe you will be in charge of employees and then you can see what they are going through and then you will see things differently. you cant put the owners of walmart down because they probably started just like you ...thats life.....until you get where you are going in life , you cant change it .

They definitely don't have the huge sense of entitlement that Americans have. No respect anymore. @nitajo45 I've worked for walmart for 12 fucking years and only make 3 dollars more than what I made when I first started. They raise there insurance every year. Or to exchange information and have public debates like the do in criminal trials. Nonviolent peaceful organizations with research to sift out fiction from facts.

Where the hell did you get that $8.23/hour "average pay" figure from?? I've seen many OTHER studies suggesting that Walmart CLEARLY pays its employees pretty close to the industry average.
Walmart Watch is NOT a "source." Tell us the ORIGINAL source for that claim!
whoo689 9 months ago
Just because YOU'VE had bad experiences at Walmart, you REALLY think it's ok to extrapolate that to the WHOLE Walmart set of employees? HOW would you know that most Walmart employees feel this way? Did you interview em? Did you do a random poll?
whoo689 9 months ago
@whoo689 They started me off at $8.10 an hour and I do one of the hardest, most labor intensive jobs there. I'm also a single man in my mid 20's an that's not even enough for me to live let alone people with families. Also, a lot of the bad things people are reporting about are unfortunately true. I've seen it and experienced it. I know who work at a brand new store that just opened up who are also reporting bad experiences. The older associates say that things were far better 20 years ago.
JonErich 9 months ago

@oAINGIRYo Yeah, I unload trucks and work 4pm to 1am. Where are you from? What they start you out may very from state to state. Also, I work full time so that may have something to do with it. Still, someone in that position should be paid more, I'm not sure where you're from, but what they were paying you is what a lot of fast food places would pay 16 year olds in Maryland.
JonErich 8 months ago
@JonErich I from Az yea it really low pay for even here thats minimum wage!! We should get paid a whole lot more for what we do at that store! Since when is the fact that a corporation makes BILLIONS somehow a reason for you to bitch and say, "Aha! Look how much they're making. I mean, SURELY a person in his 30s or 40s trying to RAISE A FAMILY has enough skills to get a better-paying job than FUCKING WALMART shit. Right??
whoo689 9 months ago
@whoo689 There are a lot of people who work at Walmart who literally have no place else to go. People who have had careers for over 30 years who were laid off because their jobs no longer exist. They are in their 60's and have two choices. They can go to college which is expensive and hope they can get a new career before they die or they can go to Walmart, one of the few places that'll hire these kinds of people in a bad economy. So why can't Walmart give just a little more?
JonErich 9 months ago
@JonErich
I appreciate your good intentions, but its not a charity. Labor is a matter of supply and demand. As long as there is plentiful supply of cheap, unskilled labor, they won't raise wages. Therefore, if you want more money, make yourself more skilled, and thus in greater demand.
channell11 8 months ago
@whoo689 Actually you're wrong. Walmart in particular encourages people to stay with propaganda posters saying that 70% of Walmart managers start out as hourly associates. So these kinds of places are intended to be places where you can build careers. Also, why does Walmart get attacked more than the other stores? Because unlike other places, Walmart builds it's reputation around a single man who died almost 20 years ago and who's morals died along with him.
JonErich 9 months ago
I hit the post button WAY too soon.

ScotterS69 9 months ago
OK-instead of bitching about not making enough money-GO WORK SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Its not rocket science folks, find another job that pays what you need.

Don't say something like that. You like being able to go to any grocery store you like any day of the week, don't you? Well, if we didn't have people working those jobs we wouldn't have those stores. Someone's gotta do the job.
justicelawman 10 months ago
@justicelawman
Freedan111 10 months ago
@Freedan111 The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Who in all honesty is ever 100% satisfied with their jobs? The answer is NO ONE, and people who think otherwise are seriously delusional. People in retail work retail because that's all that's available-even many college graduates find themselves in retail because those might be the only jobs hiring. But the point is if we all up and left whenever we were unhappy with our jobs, we would all be unemployed.
Nikkirose1316 10 months ago
@Nikkirose1316
If you are in a job that you are unhappy with. You have no one else to blame but yourself. Take some personal responsibility for your choices. It's not Walmart's fault that you can't support a family of 4 on what they pay. Do you think you could support a family of 4 working at McDonald as a fry cook?
Freedan111 10 months ago
@Freedan111 You obviously don't get what I am saying, and I doubt you even read all of what I wrote. Are you happy with YOUR job all the time? You mean to tell me you have not once ever complained about a single thing concerning your job? Yeah, I don't think so.
Nikkirose1316 10 months ago
@Nikkirose1316
Freedan111 10 months ago
@Freedan111 What kind of utopia fantasy world are you living in? I wish in reality we did have those choices you're speaking of. Working somewhere is always a "choice". What a joke-tell that to the college graduate who had a nice job then got laid off and is forced to take a job at Wal-mart because that's all who's hiring.
Nikkirose1316 5 months ago
@Nikkirose1316
Freedan111 5 months ago
@Freedan111 I doubt you have any idea what Wal-mart is like. It is not just the wages that upsets the employees, it's the very bad direction that the company has taken in the past few years, and dealing with the callous and incompetent management, that does. Most associates are now doing the work of five people with so little time to work, not to mention getting called up front to help check, then they get hollered at by management because their departments are a mess and projects don't get done
Nikkirose1316 10 months ago
Walmart does not pay $10 or anything close unless your a manager or assistant, which are company puppets and arse kissers. When the living relatives of walmart pass away and are sent to hell they will give answer to god for the untold greed and evil that they have imposed on their average workers. They would import chinese workers to their stores like they do mehicans if they could get away with it.Robin Williams said it best"it's easy to be a dickhead, all you need is a head and be a dick".

What does he want that much money for? Only by donating 2 of those 19 million to employees it would make their lives a bit more affordable and he would be losing cents, 'cos 2 million dollars are cents for him.

I'd just prefer our businesses were run with some sort of character.
seriousguynogames3 1 year ago
I don't really have a problem with them paying employees minimum wage, after all, their only legal obligation in that situation is to AT LEAST pay that amount. What I do have a problem with is not allowing the workers to unionize, crushing any sort of employee-run groups, making health care benefits too expensive for employees to afford, and for making people work 39 hours a week so they don't have to give them full time employee benefits. People act as if, in capitalism, the workers don't
seriousguynogames3 1 year ago
From the day they fucked me over and fired me unjustly, I refuse to even step foot in a Walmart. The evil and corruption I saw going on within those walls. The managers fucking the employees, cutting our hours to 20 hours a week, but lying and saying we were working 40, pocketing the extra money. Paying kids overseas to make their garbage and sell it pennies cheaper than everyone else to put other companies out of business. FUCK WALMART!!!!!
pinkypimpalicous 1 year ago
@pinkypimpalicous You forgot to add listing people as part time but working them full time, so they didn't have to pay ins for them. And under staffing. And making the workers work overtime but cut it at the last min cause WalMart doesn't allow over time. And poor treatment, especially to women and even more so pregnant women.I was 8 months prego and was made to move furniture weighting over 100 lbs while a man mang. stood and told me I better not ask for help."It's not walmarts fault you got prego"
tpfastback 1 year ago
@tpfastback CORRECT! I noticed walmart treats women like crap, especially if they are pregnant. They put ONE person in a department and expect them to do the work of 5 or more and they schedule you 6 hours and expect 8 hours of work to be done. You will NEVER get help when you need it, managers are useless when you need help but surely hiding around the corner watching you, waiting for you to slip up so they can coach or fire you. They are heartless robots.

This world is full of so many morons.
ScotterS69 1 year ago
@ScotterS69 its not a FREE MARKET jackass.....its a MIXED MARKET..if your going to throw out economic terms, throw out the right ones. If it were a FREE MARKET, then Walmart would hire 10 year olds to do the work and pay them 10 cents a day.
tbscrazy12 1 year ago
@tbscrazy12
ScotterS69 1 year ago
@ScotterS69 Actually, it's not a "free market" it's almost all been bought, sold and paid for by small groups of people who already have too much. If anyone tried to start up a buisness to challenge them, Walmart would bury them within the first month. Communism offers more freedom than capitalism now. Capitalism is out of control with companies like this utilizing their multi trillion dollar financial wrecking ball to kill off other buisnesses. Then they start a recession to finish the job.

I work at wal-mart as an unloader and we make the least amount of money. In my opinion we should be getting double what the rest of the store gets. If you want to lose weight this is a job for you. They should take the lawn and gardens associates salary and give it to the backroom associates because we do all the work.
hemi2796 1 year ago
21,200 for a Family of FOUR
19,200 Average Wal-Mart Salary
That sounds pretty good to me if you consider a spouse and 2 non working children. If both Parents worked at Wal-mart they would be making almost 40k a year. Which isn't great but not bad either. Way to be deceptive.
Also since when did Americans decide you should make a living wage at any job. It's not like working at Wal-Mart is a skilled trade. If you can't support yourself on one job then guess what, you need to get another job.
