Although they had no hard evidence of it. They started ripping his engine apart on the 401 looking for NOS. All of his upgrades were done over the ECU they found nothing and gave his car back to him with his motor in pieces. Had his license suspended for 3 months.

Now, they only crush cars if you're going 50 kph or more above the speed limit. My issue with the street race law is that it give the officer way too much power. I agree street racing is not good, it's stupid. However; there are many people out there that like to drive a modified car in a responsible way and those people are unfairly targeted for loud exhaust, wide tires, etc etc. Even if they're not doing anything wrong the police do stop checks on vehicles all the time.

I did it when I was young and am greatful that Ive moved on (grew up). I went NHRA bracket racing for years but now I'm road racing a legends car.

Im assuming not all posters on here are from Ontario Canada. First - 50Km over the limit is considered 'Street Racing'. My Cousin charged a Woman = who was driving a dodge caravan at 170 - with Twins in the backseat. She freaked the fuck out, Then he told her 'you want me to call childrens aid and tell them you were doing mach2 with babies in the Car". SUV's, Minivans, regular folk.. its the number - not the car. I drive a G35 Coupe and have zero tickets.

Good luck homie. Local tracks are not cheap. The insurance is sky high and, paving a 1/4 mile plus is not cheap. It cost me 6K+ just for my driveway.
The cop does not get your fine money. Where I live the police don't even get the money it goes into provincial coffers.
I don;t like the fact I pay more income tax than you because I make a lot but if I don't pay, I get in shit and fined. That is life.

My issue with the street race law is that it give the officer way too much power. I agree street racing is not good, it's stupid. However; there are many people out there that like to drive a modified car in a responsible way and those people are unfairly targeted for loud exhaust, wide tires, etc etc. Even if they're not doing anything wrong the police do stop checks on vehicles all the time.

I used to have a rule even before this new law came out, doing over 150kph and the cop is stopped on the highway - Speed up.... below 150kph slow down and take the ticket

Really? well its 2011 now, havent seen anyone street race ever. Markham is full of track people. everrryyyybody who has a modified car knows cayuga and mosport!
I have to point out though: Toronto has one of the most fastest drivers on the highway, whether im doing 120km/h on 100km/h limit, theres people still passing me at least 160km/h... not just one but many zoom by. I believe the track is more fun than hectic streets.. no?
