MAN! YOU SUCK!!!!! (Just Kidding) What's up Tony this is Donald, I was just showing my Wife some of your videos, The first words out of her mouth were "You better have him teach you something" I told her that you said you would. I like that HUMAN LEAGUE. If you do sell any of your boards, Keep the MOOG. You'll be kicking yourself if you don't. KEEP ON JAMMIN'
I like your demos. This is a fine little song. If original it could be a hit. I like it best with just the piano and the phatty. Arps are distracting from the fine melody. I would replace them with a pad, string wash...melodic. Even the beats seem to distract from your really fine vocals and the cool melodic movement of the piano. I would keep it simple...you have the skills to just solo it.
Hey thanks for your input. I agree with you on the Arps are a little to much. Drums also. I'll redo and try some pads. Maybe take out most of the drum parts or change the beat all together. sometimes simple is best. Anyway, for the first time since i posted videos of me singing and improvising on the keyboard, I really did need another musicians valuable input to pull me in the right direction musically ! Thanks Much!
Just one guy's opinion but I REALLY like your vocal style and the quality of your voice. I was thinking of a quote from Vangelis where he says we need to leave room for the melody to breathe. He says the spaces of quiet are as important as the notes. I have been trying to apply his simplicity to music but often over orchestrate things. You have a great voice, let it shine.
Geez...I lokk at your Stage I and I look at my Stage I, and the two synths look totally different. Mine has been modded to the point I can't recognize it as a Stage I. They sound very similar, though. I love that patch you've got going. Great song and video!
Thanks Much. One can only hope that we can keep our uniqueness in one self and especially in our personal musical instruments. Any more addtional updates of your LP? I'm thinking of spray-painting mine Orange. what ya think? Hehehe Just kidding man.
Couldn't agree more. The instrument is an extension of the artist, IMO. The more unique the rig; the more unique the sound. I let my instrument inspire my sounds. Therefore, I modify my instrument rig for more unique sounds. But that's just me. As for painting your LP orange, I advise against it. Brass or bronze plating would look awesome though! Just something to consider... ^_^ My next video will showcase the Coco Bolo wood sides with brass inlay, as well as a unique filter module.
