In a marathon, you can't start out in a full on run. You need to pace yourself because if you start out in a sprint you'll lose your energy quicker. I have never run a marathon, the furthest I've ran is 4 miles xD but this makes me want to run one.

The slip was on his body, he simply broke out of the mental state that kept him from hitting the wall so when he trew his hands up in victory, out of his mental shield, he lost the balance due to exaustion and fell, it was not the mat that cause it.
