I have a Dell Inspiron laptap 6400. Currently I have to keep the screen on the lowest possible brightness, otherwise it does this high pitched ringing and will eventually go completely dark.
i have one of these inspiron 6000's and the screen is black, but if you hold a flashlight to it, then you can barely see the screen. i'm assuming i have to replace the bulb right?
where can i buy one of those, i can't find them anywhere???
If its just the bulb just $12 but I have to figure out the shipping. If its an inverter I would have to find out for you. I would know that better tomorrow. If you never put in a bulb before be VERY VERY careful.. I might have to do a video on it to help you with the install.
i never have, so a vid would be very helpful, especially if you used this inspiron (like i said, i have the same one). let me know when you get the shipping done!
(con't) Was never red. Only orange, + got darker orange as laptop ran. The only other thing is an outside power line about 20ft. from house, But the feed from that line anchors outside room where laptop is kept! Bulb replaced by warrantee after burn out was put back together loosely, All rubber caps covering screws R missing and hinge on the left VERY loose and nearly fell off! Holding togther with strong rubber bands! It takes them weeks to fix! What 2 use for detection of EMF radiation? Help!
I had my bulb burn out on my HP laptop, but it turned an orange color that lingered and got worse. I called GEEK Squad since it was only about 1yr old at best, and he tech freaked out saying that it indicated an incredibley HIGH level of EM exposure and was wondering what my laptop was near. He said it had to be dangerously high. He asked of other interference. I do not even have a cell phone. But I do have those mercury vapored fluorescent curly light bulbsX2,1radio,1cordless phone in this room
Thanks for the kind words.. If you talking about an LCD monitor for a desktop its exactly the same. It has a bulb and yes it sounds like its getting ready to go on you. You can find bulbs very cheap on ebay. not hard at all to do. If you need a hand we can always help you out.
hiya! i hav a dv1000 and the lcd is on but you cant see it because its very dark
i thought at first the video chip was gone but when i had a lamp to the back to the screen i was able to see it.. :/
would it be the bulb? becuase I didnt see a red haze... the colors were perfect

Any ideas? Is it the bulb and inverter?
luckboxFTW 2 years ago
That is the inverter.. that is the transformer in the inverter making that noise. I see that a lot. If you replace that it wil solve your issue.
They are very cheap on ebay.
Let me know how that works out for you.
Hope that helps.

I can get both for you.. If needed. IF you were in the Orlando / Kissimmee area I would say bring it in I will pop that in for you.
The office phone number is 321-332-0710 Im not going to be in the office tomorrow until 3pm - 6:30

All LCD's are pretty much the same. I wont be able to show you on this unit but I will show in general how to put a bulb in/ take a bulb out.
I will try to make that today.

I've enjoyed several of your vids. Nice channel.
This bulb - is it only in laptops, or in the stand-alone desktop monitors, too?
And is taking a longer and longer time to warm up and come on in the morning also a sign the bulb is going out?

You are an incredibly nice person. Thank you.
And thank you for refraining from mentioning what I just now noticed in your sidebar:
"The signs are the same on Laptop / notebook LCD's and monitors."
LOL. Duh on me. The computer-challenged, limping along in a cyber-world. :D
