for everybody thats dogging van gundy this was the only time that francis EVER made the playoffs with van gundy's coaching and using yao as the first option. all he asked was for him was to 1. get yao, one of the best centers at the time, the ball first and 2. not as much dribbling cause there were times he would get past someone then back up and try to do it again. basically get the big man the ball and be more efficient which is the job of a point guard.

I think STEVE Francis, AI, did not get the right teamates because their teamates did not have the heart, and most of the time, the coaches were only milking the nba for pension money so they could drive mercedez. Dude I agree completely. I loved Francis as a player, but to blame Van Gundy is ridiculous. The only year Steve made the playoffs was with Van Gundy. T-mac now is injured goods, but I could say that about Francis 2-3 years ago. T-mac hasn't got the Rockets where they want to be, but I don't believe it was his fault. The Mavs series looked almost to be fixed. The Jazz were a terrible matchup for the Rockets. To say Steve is better than T-mac is almost ignorant lol.
