Rubella-mild disease. However, very severe when contracted during pregnancy.

Relatively mild rash, but can be more severe in adults.

Maternal rubella associated with severe birth defects: congenital rubella syndrome

Deafness, blindness, mental retardation, spontaneous abortion.

Prevention- Active immunization-rubella vaccine.
