@AnthonyPudduMusic WELL FUCK YES!!!! the trip rec SLAYS compared to the 6505+ and it has waaaaay better cleans .. and im not a mesa fanboy .. DO IIIT! greeting from the eskimo!
@AnthonyPudduMusic I would, you would be getting a heck of a deal. I just got a triple rec 2 weeks ago. Like it much better then the 6505+ I was using.
@smaragdboa the music man. there isnt sooo much difference in sound quality between recto and 333xl. and music man makes some of the best guitars ever. but get the BFR if you can, not the jpx.
@smaragdboa no problem. friend of mine has 3 musicmans, he's absolutely addicted to them :D (betrucci bfr, steve morse, steve morse Y2D) and i owned a 333xl for a short while. i honestly liked it better than any dual recto i ever played.
If you found a Triple Rec for $1100 it was a used one. Mesa has fixed pricing on their amps. But its still a Mesa. I'm getting mine this week (used). it was either that or a Peavey XXX (an amp w/ massive gain and no tone).
the three people who disliked this video obviously lost their hearing and destroyed their computer monitored by watching this video. that's why i used headphones on 1080p.
hey is it a problem when you're triple rectifier dosen't have enough gain for legato or is it just that i have weak hands? also the tone on my triple rectifier sounds nothing like yours, how do i get that tone? thank you
we play death metal, tuned to B... Which amp would you recommend Mesa Dual Rectifier or Peavey 6505? It sounds like the Peavey has more raw power? WHat you reckon?
how does this compare to the dual rectifier? i have a dual, but im looking to get a triple and im wondering if it is worth the extra 100 bucks to go triple instead of another dual.
@xlMetallicalx15 If the triple is a two channel and your dual is a three chanel Id get the triple. BUT If they are both 3 channels then you should just stick with the dual, the only time your going to need the triple is if your band is playing big venues or Wembley Stadium, and their isn't really a difference in tone, I a/b'ed them. Hope that helps!
@rohanclassic Mercury is not the heaviest metal. The heaviest naturally occurring metal is plutonium. There are other heavier metals that have been synthesized in labs, but I'm not sure what they are. I don't have a periodic table handy...
@tenhundredkills Osmium is the most dense metal, hence the heaviest for it's volume. Molar mass does not correlate to mass in grams... and the periodic table tells you only the molar masses.
Who gives a shit though? I love Ola's playing and I might get a new amp soon. love his videos.
Hey man! I see you have played through probably almost any imaginable badass amp, your videos are needless to say great and bring out characteristics of all those different amps. So I see there's at least one real badass amp you haven't reviewed already, that is bogner uberschall. So if you get chance crossing with such amp, I would really like to see you make vid of it ;) Thanks mate!
Yessir, was lookin for some demo's on dual recs, came across your videos, and needless to say all very good. Ill check out the facebook page in a minute, but quick Q, you think 1100 is a good used price for a mesa dual rec, from a local shop that i trust far as its condition...or is that more like ballpark.
@JMetal98 1100 is a good used price. I've seen them as low as 1000 but never lower than that, and if its local then you don't have to pay shipping, so its a pretty good price!
@JMetal98 As a U.S. guitarist, I can only say one thing-It all depends. In great condition for a two channel head jump on it. For a three, its not bad but there are better deals-you could talk them to 1000. The dual channel has a bit more oomph than the 3 channel on the high gain channel, but the cleans aren't as nice. It all really depends on what you're looking for. Sorry for not being a major help
@Blickle71 Went with a 5150 2X12 combo. Right now I just decided I didnt wanna spend that much, hopefully next summer I will re-consider the idea, and have both, be a fun combo of amps to have. Likin the 5150 so far. Had a 5150 head once, pretty sure it was messed up cuz it didnt sound as good as this one, lol.
@JMetal98 - I know guitar center has a few of them used for 1100-1200. I bought a used triple a few months ago and spent like 1400 for it. But just remember with it being used you have no idea when the tubes need to be changed. I changed all the recto/pre amps just to be safe. That was another $150 direct from mesa.
Yea i may still get a mesa eventually, went kinda back and forth on amps for a while, and ultimately I just decided for what im currently doing i dont wanna spend 1200-1500 at minimum. Far as amps, was looking at the mesa's, but also some various ENGL models. I really love ENGLs but again, some other bills in the fold to go out and buy an amp for that price at the moment. In time.
Btw jackson, I too have a jackson, i love jacksons..lol...i had an ESP at one time, it was ok too, just more of a thin neck fan personally. Really wanna get another guitar to set them up a lil diff, but not a pressing issue at the moment.
@JMetal98 i have a dual rec that i got used for $900 and its amazing, and my friend got a used triple rec for $1200, try out the amp at the store first, but that price seems good
@JMetal98 i live in florida, i went to sam ash i think it was, and saw a dual rec go for 1100 brand new man, id keep looking for a better deal but if you want it get it.
Hi dude, about half a year ago i commented something like "lol satanic shit" or smthing to your video.. and im now gonna take it back since my music taste has changed alot.. you kick ass :P
I've got to try a fair number of good high-gain amps, even some of the ones you've already demoed (except the soldano, diezel, DARs Fortin, Koch and Modena of course) and personally, i just LOVE the growl and midrange of the Mesa MArk series. Mesa rules!!

the amp sounds great in this video maybe its a better recording amp than it is live. ive played rectos many times and its just so muddy low end and fizzy distortion. i cant understand why everyone has one
i just got my mesa 2 channel yesterday and i'm so lost. i have such a great amp and can't get a good sound :( your help would be greatly appreciated. I also play an ibanez 7 string, feel free to email me also. Riccoxtbs@yahoo.com thanks again. hope to hear from you soon.
I have probably asked this a million times (cant really remember), but are the pickups in the MTM2 stock, or did you replace them (and if that's the case, which ones?)
Hey Ola I have a question for you.Are there any heareable diffrences between dual and triple rectifirer.Cause I read somewhere that Triple has tighter sound .What's your opinion about that?
@PossesedbyBlackMetal IMO I don't think that one is tighter than the other. I've never bothered to much about which version of the dual rectifier to get. They're all GREAT!
@PossesedbyBlackMetal I know I'm a couple moonths late and you might not care to hear my opinion but the only difference between the Triple and Dual Rectifiers is 50 watts. the Dual has 100 and the Triple has 150 but seriously there is only like a $100 difference between the 2 so I'd go with a Triple.
@PossesedbyBlackMetal yeah mostly because you have more head room, if you want a tighter sound you can always get a tubescreamer for that extra low end
@PossesedbyBlackMetal Depends, I have the early 90's 2 channel models. Dual and Trip. There is a distinct difference in both. Dual is tighter and more compressed.
hey fella just wanted to ask a question ive got a mesa roadster and noticed you use the maxon od808 alot is that a boost for channels 3-4 i use a hk warp factor pedal on clean and sounds amazing but wanted a boost pedal for the lead channels love the playing

How low do you have your guitar tuned? This sounds exactly like contra shattered soldier.

@fearedse
Hey Ola I have a question for you.Are there any heareable diffrences between dual and triple rectifirer.Cause I read somewhere that Triple has tighter sound .What's your opinion about that?
PossesedbyBlackMetal 7 months ago
@PossesedbyBlackMetal IMO I don't think that one is tighter than the other. I've never bothered to much about which version of the dual rectifier to get. They're all GREAT!

@fearedse im a pretty new musician so im out on the market for a mesa which do prefer a dual or triple recto?
wiggitywiggitywort 6 months ago
@PossesedbyBlackMetal I know I'm a couple moonths late and you might not care to hear my opinion but the only difference between the Triple and Dual Rectifiers is 50 watts. the Dual has 100 and the Triple has 150 but seriously there is only like a $100 difference between the 2 so I'd go with a Triple.

@SEIJITV
No,no Its ok but I heart some opinnions that triple has tighter sound .
PossesedbyBlackMetal 5 months ago
@PossesedbyBlackMetal yeah mostly because you have more head room, if you want a tighter sound you can always get a tubescreamer for that extra low end

@PossesedbyBlackMetal Depends, I have the early 90's 2 channel models. Dual and Trip. There is a distinct difference in both. Dual is tighter and more compressed.

I'm not gonna lie. I don't like rectifiers generally, but this sounds pretty damn good.
