I've always liked this song, it use to be Sunshine Superman was my favorite by Donovan. Over the years it has changed and it's either Catch the Wind or Colours, that I prefer to listen to now. Anyway these songs by Donovan hit the airwaves during the "british invasion", believe me he had quite a few hit the charts & Sunshine Superman was probably his biggest as was Mellow Yellow. I found out that he was scotch, so obviously they weren't all from England. Thx4 the video & song..
it's from a "greatest hits" collection released sometime after '67 (the original single is much more spare and folky). if you have trouble finding it, write to me and i'll send you the mp3 -- meesoolee at gmail dot com
yes i know. the scene from "bambi" is set at dusk. but i'm not exactly interested in trying to illustrate the words to the song. i'm exploring the feeling or theme -- a sense of peace and harmony, tenderness, togetherness in a relationship. and always interested in provoking an emotional response somewhere between irony and emotional honesty.
it's donovan... i got it from a "greatest hits" compilation. let me know if you have trouble finding it and i will figure out a way to send you the song as an mp3.

I love the sparse, folk version of this song, but this version is very much superior.
