My best friend is marco (mark lewis) who was on the 2009 programme, I was there in the adience for the final.

I know for a fact that most didn't keep the weight off incl the winner!

@Karlzapke its imposible to keep the weight off without the support network, those screaming trainers forcing you to exercise like a donkey its all a bit of a con. As a man who has lost 10 stones twice then put it back on i know its very hard because food is a integral thing for fatties and im not talking carrot sticks and ryvita.

@britturk123 yes I agree with you, it is hard, its just a shame some of the contestants have been given this opertunatey and didnt change their lives. marco has kept his weight off but boy he works hard at it. only problem is bless his cotton socks, he loves food and eats large amounts although he tries to resist. most of the time its habbit and your minds use to a certain amount. i cant quit smoking, its what u eat really that counts but all cigs kill. keep singing adele song bud, was v good!

I find some of these shows questionable. Everything reputable I have ever read about weight loss always suggests that slow and steady is the key to keeping the weight off long term. But these people are losing sometimes half of their body weight in just 6 months. How likely is it that they will be able to maintain the exercise regimes they've experienced during the show in their normal lives? Just thinking about the bigger picture is all...

He reached his taget weight, all he has to do is mentain it. He doesent have to work out nearly as hard/often because he has no more weight to lose! Keeping the weight off will be easy for him!

@mantaishere True, its the only way to lose weight diet healthily and exercise but minimaly depending on your condition for life . Its unrealistic to expect these so called losers to keep up with the regimen that they have been given on the show and therefore they will undoubtedly fail ive lost 10 stones twice but i put it back on twice, obece people have a wierd mindset when it comes to food, its an adiction i look so good when i lose the weight and jabba the hut when fat but still its hard .

i hate the way katey looks, typical trashy blonde "glamour" attempt. Never liked her thru the series, even less now.
