  • blacked out rear bumper??

  • @victorresm Soon I will be doing the front and rear bumper as well as the emplems.

  • where do u buy this stuff?

  • @jayocular I got mine at home depot

  • Definitely did this to my 2011 ram came out awesome, Definitely put it at and angle when spraying like a cinder block and index cards for over spray control

  • how long does it take to put the wheels back on?

  • THis stuff works good i put it on my rims then coupled weeks later rolled my car and my rims were unscratched and still looked good

  • Does anyone know if this stuff would fade through wear and tear such as just regular driving and weather, rain, snow, etc.

  • @SwagKing1996 I have driven my truck through rain, snow, and a little off roading and the product holds up well. My original coat has been on there for 9 monhs now and still looks good.

  • @ericwmolina Thank you I was looking for some clarification on that! I will definitely try it :) Just one more question if you do decide you don't want your wheels plastidiped anymore is there a special way to remove it or what?

  • @SwagKing1996 This stuff is just as easy to take off as it is to apply, check out my other video, I demonstrate taking it off and re-applying a new coat.

  • You Should Do The Same To Your Grille.. Black it Out! It Would Look Badass!!

  • How many cans would you recommend?

  • you used Regular Can 429ml or Aerosol Spray - 311g ?

    thanks

  • how many cans did you need?

  • Hey, nice video, I plan on doing this to my explorer this weekend

  • how long does it take to dry?

  • @JAYSERR93 Not long, 30 min's but just be carefull, it totally doesnt cure for like 24 hours.

  • Citizen Cope!

  • Badass truck dude

  • How much plastidip you need to make 4 rims?

  • @PCREVOLUTION I used roughly 3 1/2 cans, but it all depends on the size of the rim and how many coats you perfer to put down.

  • do small rocks n dirt chips from winter weather make it peel in spots?

  • @JJ0KERB0I I havent had an issue with debre but I am sure if a big enough rock flys up it will peal this stuff. I dont do much off roading, but I do hit the ocasional dirt road if taking the dirtbikes out, and I havent had any issues then.

  • @ericwmolina awesome ill give it a try. hopefully all goes well. nice vid btw

  • hey man that looks really good. I'm about to go try it out on my GTO. Well see how it goes.

  • @maxleal0 Firestone Destination AT

  • Best thing is you can remove this stuff easily by peeling it. Great way to protect your wheels in winter weather,

  • Hey how long has it been on there? And how many can did u use

  • @megashadow333 been on since march of this year, and all is still good. I think I used 3 cans do do all 4 wheels.

  • I cant wait 2 do my 2003 dodge ram 1500, does plasti dip work on chrome rims??

  • @megashadow333 PlastiDip will stick to chrome, no problem, this stuff sticks to just about everything.

  • that looks sooo good bro!!

  • How would you clean them?

  • @wannadieessay I usually use soap and water with a sponge, but I have taken them to the car wash and even preasure washed them(gently) then to make them look real good use some armorall.

  • @ericwmolina Ok thanks!

  • yea those rims look good .

  • those ram wheels look awesome, nice job

  • @frankrizzo. I have a g35, I plast dipped the rims 3 coats, then 2 layers of glossy black valspar interior/exterior, then 1 coat of clear coat valspar interior/exterior too. The rims came out flawless, and yes it peels right off. Just give the coats time to cure before doing more coats.. and make sure you do it evenly.

  • @EricPasion1 Nice, I have been waiting for someone to figure this out.

  • @ericwmolina No sanding required? also u dont have to re-balance your wheels?

  • @wannadieessay No sanding required, just make sure you have a clean surface. I did not need to have the wheels balanced, and have put a lot of mile's on my truck since and have had no issues, now I am not saying that may be the case for everyone but as long as you spray this evenly on all surfaces you shouldnt have a problem.

  • Hi i just did mine. I have one question for you. How can i wash my rims without damaging them. Im scared if i wash them the plastidip will start to come off. please answer this comment before i wash my car. thanks. Nice work bro!

  • i did mine today but i had a lil problem, when o put back the tired one of the nuts or screws what ever u call them, and when i screwed them on tightly it started to come of, do u know why is this happening? im i not leetin them dry? did this happened to you? thanks. u did a good job with ur rims

  • @klachi7 I had that problem as well, but it didnt rip the PlastiDip to bad so I left it alone, also my lug nuts sit down in those wells pretty far so you really couldnt notice. In your situation I would probably take an exacto nife down in there and clear it out a little before putting it back toghther. I dont think it was the drying time, since it is a rubber material and will always be a little plyable. This stuff is awesome, if worse comes to worse you just take them off and spray them again.

  • @ericwmolina thanks for replying.. what i did was kind of cuttin it off with a cuter then, sort of spry it where it started to ripped off.. I know people could and would not notice it but i kind of feel like it was a bad job when that happened.. i hope they last for a while, otherwise i will have to spend more money to paint them instead... do u think theyll last ?

  • @ericwmolina I was wondering if it was possible to put a layer clear coat on top of the pasti dip, maybe it might still peel off the same.Have you heard of anyone trying it ?

  • @FrankRizzo762 I tried to clear coat on a peice of scrap that I plastidiped but the results were bad, I think I just tried a spray enamel clear coat from Home Depot, but you may get better results out of something else. Remember though that this is a rubbery plyable material that may not hold a hard material such as a clear coat. It would be nice if PlastiDip came out with something to either clear them or a glossy finish PlastiDip would be cool too.

  • @ericwmolina Yea the plasti's looking real good on those wheels, vids like these are good convincers.I have a black car,and It's not that I don't like the flat black look, but I just want it to match as close as possible. Some forums have pics of people who've done it,and it looks good, some even have plainted over the plasti, and looks good.People said if you always the plasti to fully cure, you should do light coats of the clear, but I guess I will have to try it for myself to find out.

  • @ericwmolina I have one more question for you; how would you wash them? I'm scared if i wash them the plasti dip will start to come off. could you please give me some tips on that? thanks.

  • @ericwmolina wait i guess i a aleady commented on your video right? haha how dumb of me. well the question was How can i wash my rims without damaging them. Im scared if i wash them the plastidip will start to come off. please answer this comment before i wash my car.? thanks once again for your help!

  • @klachi7 No problem, they clean up fairly easy, I have washed them many ways, but I tend to wash them by hand, just saves you from worrying about it. I have ran them through a local car wash with no issues, and have also pressure washed them at home, I believe mine is 2200 PSI, but just dont get to close, but as I said earlier your best bet is to wash them by hand, soap and water is fine, and I even use some armorall to get them looking really good.

  • @ericwmolina Thanks once again for taking some of your time to answer my odd questions; I really appreciate it. I think i wont go for pressure wash like i said before i am really scared to damage them since i spent one can for each rim and i am not willing to buy more cans! lol. like armorall the rims or just the outside like jst the tire? thanks borther for all your help!

  • @klachi7 I used armorall once to shine the tires, and got some on the PlastiDiped wheels and it looked good so I armoralled the wheels and it looked awesome, they actually get a little bit of shine to them. Good luck, its all trial and error for this stuff, but I have had quite a good exprience with PlastiDip, I plan to leave my wheels platidiped for as long as I can.

  • looks awesome!

  • Great taste in music, and in trucks! nice vid man

  • i got a black 01 ford taurus se im blacking it out i niteshaded the tail lights but this spary u wasted can u do ur rims and the taurus se on back of my car can u do it to them too cause im thinking of geting some to try out get some 35% window tint all the way around from audio shop, and nice dodge man im a big fan of dodge and ford.

  • SHOULD OF PAINTED YOUR BRAKE CALIPERS RED!

  • truck looks great!! did you end up using the gloss?? i wanna do my 08 rims and are you on ram forumz??

  • beautiful truck!

  • Do you think this product will work as well on the 06-08 ram wheels that are 20 inch chrome clad wheels since its made of some kind of plastic? Also, the removal process won't affect the original chrome finish, would it?

  • @350juiceman THis product is awesome, it will not affect the orginal finish of the wheels, It adhears to most anything and peals off with ease. I am getting ready to do a touch-up on my wheels, a couple of spots where I used a tire iron to take the wheels off got a couple of nic's in the plastidip, I will do a new video with an update soon.

  • @ericwmolina Thanks man i appreciate it. also whats your opinion of this product and car washes to clean the rims? And also, do you think its a good idea if i use this product on my chome clad rims and spray over the PastiDip (once it has dried completely) with a different color such as with like a Krylon product?

  • @350juiceman I usually wash my truck by hand but last week I took it to the car wash with good results, absolutely no damage, and the armorall they used got sprayed on the wheels and even looked good. You should have no problems with the chrome clad wheels, this stuff is meant to adhere to most everything. As far as the krylon goes, I am not sure sure you will have to test it out, I tried a clear enamel on a test piece of plastidip and it looked horrible. Let me know how it goes.

  • @ericwmolina Alright Man, I sure will, Thanks Again!

  • Is it just this Plasti Dip brand?

  • @waveformrecords Yes its plastidip, it comes in 2 forms either a spray or a liquid, I used the spray, you can get it at most hardware stores, I got mine at Home Depot and used roughly 3 1/2 cans at I think it was around 5 or 6 bucks a can, I coated each wheel twice. The spray only comes in one color and that is matte black.

  • which exact brand, color, mfg did u use? where'd u buy it and how much was it? it would have been nice if you would have shown the can you were spraying from so I could be sure to track down the right stuff.

  • Looks good. Nice job. Did you end up putting some gloss clear coat on it or something afterwards?

  • @xbrrrian I used a test piece with plasti dip and clear enamel but it didnt adhere to well, so I stayed away from it. THere maybe other products that would work better.

  • this stuff is awsome im doing my interior (tan---to black) doing my rims for the winterr and my grille!!!!

respect for nappy roots in the background playa

  • good job loox sik on that dodge. and well i have a question, is it only in black or does it come in colors??

  • @adamolivas All I could find in a spray can was black, I do know they make other colors in just a regular paint can that you may be able to spray through a gun.

  • @ericwmolina alright thanx, it sucks because i live in a small town with no lowes or home depot. but thanks again

  • how many coats did you put on the rims for the final product?

  • @sv7006 2 coats, first was really thick, the second coat went on real easy.

  • citizen cope - bullet and a target FTW!

  • @ericwmolina ill be trying it this week, ive taken my lancer (plastidip grilles)to a car wash and used my power pressure before and it is still holding up. Thanks for the post and ill post some videos soon with my plasti dip rims.

  • @ericwmolina thanks for replying. How does it holds up with car wash and power washer? And how do u clean it up?

  • @jon2xmanuel I dont take my truck to the car wash so I am unsure what the results would be. I always wash it at home, and sometimes use my pressure washer, as long as I am not right up on them they hold up well. I use just soap and water with a large sponge to clean them and they come out good.

  • How is it holding up? I used this on my 08 lancer grille and looks good. Now i am planning to plasti dip my wife's 2010 4runner rims.

  • @jon2xmanuel still looks good, I messed one of them up on my own, but no weather or normal conditions have changed them. If you take care of them they will last a long time.

  • Your truck looks great with the Matte black rims

  • thank you i really appreciate it , ill try it and see how it comes out

  • coat*

  • how many times did you spray on them? and how much time in between each cot ?

  • @baezkidd1 I sprayed two coats on them, the initial coat was the thickest though and the second coat went on very easy just covering everything up again. I was doing this in the sun so they were drying quite fast, I would say about 10 to 15 minutes between each coat. Also the material is still very soft for atleast the first 12-24 hours, and gets harder/more durable after cure time, but I think it says that on the can.

  • does it attract dust and dirt easily? and what do you use to clean the rims?

  • @cashmoney1324 dust and dirt are not bad, and even brake dust is not bad, actually better than they were stock. They clean up easily with just soap and water, and nothing to abrasive to scrub them. They do nic easily with tools though, I found that just taking them on and off you have to be carefull with the tire iron.

  • is this matte black? what type of paint did you used? what is the paint name?? thanx

  • @jeffrey19871 It is matte. Not paint its PlastiDip, a ruberized spray on adhesive. PlastiDip.

  • @ericwmolina so it is plastic! what are you going to do if it get scretched? you peel of the whole thing or just spray a bit on the scretched area?

  • @jeffrey19871 Its a ruberized material. As far as the scratches go I am not sure yet, there are a couple areas that I messed up with the tire iron, I may try to re-spray that area, but for now its not to noticeable so I will just leave it alone. I will most likely re-do all the wheels before winter as a protective coating. Remember this is a truck and not some show car, so this product works great for me, I would not use this for a nice car.

  • looks great! I'm looking into trying this stuff out too, for all the same reasons that you said in your description :)

  • Friggin sweet, that came out awesome! I have this exact truck with the same rims, thanks for the help on how to do it! Seems pretty simple and I'm totally doing that this week!

  • hey how long those stuff actually last?

  • @mrblockboii well its been almost a month now and I see no change or flaws except for the ones I created from removing the tires in which I nicked a couple of times, but just inside the lugnut wells.

  • @ericwmolina

thanks for the preply, im thinking about doing that to my stock wheels too. you should make update videos on those plastidip wheels occasionally.

  • I used 3 1/2 cans total. I drove almost 1000 moles last weekend, was in snow and rain and the PlastDip held up beautifully, so far I am really impressed and for under 40 bucks too.

  • how do u noe when u have finish the first coat?

  • @vk45dett you will see that all of the wheel is covered completely, i used roughly 1/3 of a can on the first coat. Sorry I do not have an exact answer but it is kind of trial and error.

  • @ericwmolina thanks for the reply. One more question, how many cans did u use in total

  • nice truck!!.. how many coats did you apply? And how long did you wait between the application of each coat?

  • @abovetttg I coated them twice, the first coat was really heavy though, it took a bit of spraying to get everything covered. I was in the sun and it was close to 70 out so the time between spraying was about 10-15 but you could tell as it was drying. The second coat went on real easy.

  • @ericwmolina ended up coating my bmw e90 wheels the other day.. took me 7 and a half hours for a one man job with one tire jack. Gave each wheel 4 coats just incase and they've been holding on great.. thanks again for the info and great vid!
