nah i reckon this is quite different to the truman show mainly to the factthat truman *technically* is allowed to leave whenever he wants, and i think knowing/ not knowing ur on tv and ur life is being documented makes a difference

I really want to see this movie even though it was about 12 years old by now unlike the Truman Show, this movie seems to poke fun at all the conventional standards of reality television.

This looks like a dumbed down version of "The Truman Show", one of my favorite movies, except the guy knows he is on camera. I like the plot for the Truman Show better because this movie seems to have less intelligent plot and it seems like a low brow idea.

I live in San jose where they filmed the clip where he driving the zamboni at a Sharks game

@TheFernandolpz I live in San Jose as well and I was at the Sharks game where they filmed the zamboni scene. They shot that part between periods, then they shot more scenes after the game was over. Fans were allowed to stay in the arena after the game and were moved to one section to act as extras. We had to pretend that a Zamboni was driving straight for the glass in front of us and act scared. So I have been directed by Ron Howard, though sadly that scene never made it into the final film.

i think this is the root of all reality tv shows EdTV and the other one with Jim Carrey..i miss this i watch this for so many times i rent a vhs, cinema and HBO but still looks best....!!

Ed TV is one of my favorite movies of the 90's. OK it looks like they took some ideas from The Truman Show but anyway it was great comedy film. Matthew McConaughey, Jenna Elfman, Woody Harrelson and Ellen DeGeneres were special. Elizabeth Hurley was superbeautiful as always. I adore this movie!

This one seems better than Truman Show... that's more of a fantasy, isnt it? I mean they built an entire world for that character, supposedly, to live in - and he never even knew it... that's pretty out there... this one is more plausible.
