  • price?

  • iv just got this from Amazon uk

  • I just ordered this from amazon

  • @sealzZA97 yo i got the same knife of of amazon to :P

  • you can also put a sharper edge on a softer steel blade over a harder steel

  • @redbird963 That is innaccurate, it only takes longer on the harder steel.

  • I like the saw in that Victorinox.

  • hey dude great review i got a question. what would you use pliers for out in the field? thanks for your time sir

  • I think the reamer or the punching thing is too tight becouse im 14 and when trying to get it out it feels like my fingernails are gonna snap off. I do not think that this knife is too heavy. yea.

  • wow, surprised to hear that you find this model heavy... I've got a Workchamp, how about that??? .... The Workchamp really is big and heavy... It isn't a pocket knife, you gotta carry it in a sheath or in your backpack though it's the tool you wanna have when you go outdoors. Peace

  • cool knife

  • realy nice

  • its true i as well had a shity saw on my first pocket knife and for many years thout it was a bad idea then victoria knox the bomb

  • What i like about Victorinox: Weight, Quality, History, Price, Choices, Usefulness, Precision, and the list goes on. Have experience with it, love it. The liner-lock is also fitted for left handed users and right handed users who can deal with it. If you have experience with the big flat screwdriver in a "not locking" victorinox, and experienced that it can fall out of position into the tool, theres the plus-side of having a lock on that too. Great work Victorinox!!! And of course Nutnfancy!

  • @TexasPatriot93 uk law

  • Hey nutn, not sure if you've already picked up on it but Victorinox now makes a one-handed version of the plain blade! I absolutley love it

  • nice knife

  • finally! a blade for a left hander!

  • Can you make a video of all your knifes please? How Many knifes have you

  • aww 4.7 inches means i cant carry it

  • @TheLandsburgh why not?

  • aww 4.7 inches means i cant carry it

  • Is it possible to get both a plain-edge blade, andthe dual-density handles? Something along the lines of a non-serrated soldiers knife?

  • do the leather man crater c33l

  • Isn't this exacly same knife as Trailmaster? Just new name.

  • i haz the 1 handed trekker

  • nutnfancy, how do you feel about machettes for survival purposes?

  • I love the Victorinox/Swiss Army knife reviews. These are great, usable knives/multi-tools, which also offer some collectability, with the variations constantly being release by Victorinox/Wenger.

  • I got the Forester over the Trekker because it has the bottle opener in the philips screwdriver place.(more usefull in my outdoor experience:D )

  • if you use the hunter honer then you can sharpen the serrations.

  • i love victorinox's they rock!

  • subscribe to me please

  • i am trying to find a sak with the same tools as the hiker, but with scissor and a locking blade. does anyone have any suggestions?

  • @manx1324: The Victorinox Fieldmaster adds the scissors to the Hiker, but has no locking blade. The bigger (111 mm) Victorinox Outrider has a locking main blade and adds a small Phillips Screwdriver but replaces the back mounted Phillips Screwdriver with a corkscrew - anyway, you can use the small flat screwdriver on the can opener for those bigger Phillips screws. And then there's the Wenger Evo Grip S18 which has all the features you want, but has a nail file instead of the small blade.

  • Hi nice dude can you make a video of you knife colection?? pls

  • Ya tell that cougar lady to get a knife!!!

Tell those chicks using the sticks they could have sharpened the sticks with a knife!! LOL

  • Great review! This was my first encounter with your videos, and I've immediately subscribed, and will be checking back for other gear reviews. Since I can't "rate", I just want to say thanks as a comment! Was considering getting one of these, but your reviews have convinced me to try and find one if I can!

  • When needing a bit of torque, I have had Victorinox screwdriver bits close on me. OUch! The Trekker fixes this.

  • The knife at 10:10 is - according to my knowledge - the new German Army knife. They replaced the old ones with those new Victorinox ones. Funny thing that one-handed blades are forbidden to carry in public, that put some soldiers into conflicts with the police since they acted against the weapon law. Also I think the blade shape, which is hard to sharpen, will suck; at first it's great my buddy told me, but after some use it goes dull, and you have to fumble around with it to get ist sharp again

  • I bought the one-handed only because how awesome it looks, and it works a lot for me, I only wanted one to make my friends jealous, now I know that everybody needs one

  • great review, great knife its a workhorse

  • Excellent review, as always.

I carry the hiker, which is essentially the "standard" version of the trekker, though I think youve convinced me to make a switch. A question; How do the reamer, bottle and can opener compare to the other knives, are they beefier as well or are they standard?

Also a tip that I've learned with the reamer/awl: I'm unsure of how this would work with the trekker, but if you open the can-opener, the awl locks in place much more rigidly, making it a bit safer.

  • just got the victorinox forester (same as the trekker, but with corkscrew instead of a philips screwdriver)

and its great - used it soo much. i also thought about taking the "nomad" model (same as the trekker but without the sew) but the victorinox sews are just great - so i will prefer to have a sew on my victorinox instead of carrying a folding sew or using a leatherman sew.

  • i got the swiss tool with the same serrated blade and the gerber pocket sharpener or the knock off gerber pocket sharpener makes the egde come back in just a few sec

  • I just ordered one of these as a "starter" for me along with an engraving of my name

    Nice EH?

  • Just looked it up on the Victorinox site and it appears that this model is now called the Trailmaster.

  • Great review -- as usual.

"...you don't want to go lifting off manhole covers with it..." -LOL

Love my old beat-up Victorinox Recruit. Wish the blade locked.

  • i have the verson without the saw its a great knife

  • this is a great pocket knife.

  • I'm not a huge fan of serrations either. But it's simply false that they are hard to sharpen. Just get a Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker. That thing will sharpen a serrated blade easily. Totally recommended.

  • lol short video...14 mins

  • i want new swiss army knife reviews plz

  • yr videos r awsome im getting thwt knife today

  • im left handed and that liner lock is just perfect for me

  • i remember the lady and the couger. ouch.

  • Picked up a Forester today, same tools except for the philips driver, it has the cork screw. The Philips driver modles are much harder to come by in the UK for some reason, even on the internet. Still, although i've only once opend a wine bottle with it my EDC Huntsman (just to try it out) it's gets used to unpick small knots all the time...

  • best knife i evr owned

  • *15 years ago* -"Man that's retarded!" xD

    the saw owns :D

  • I do not get your point. Do you suggest people should carry bigger knives and tools around all the time? Or do you suggest that you do not know what can be a knife etc. used for?

I need a knife every other day. And many other tools like can openers etc. And I usually do not like to carry big standalone tools around.

  • You are a complete idiot, If you think 90% of people buy knives because they think they are cool. In fact about 90% of people buy good knives because they are reliable and because they need them to use as a tool.

  • i just got a victorinox rucksack today....mine has a very unusual locking mechanism...its got a little sliding button on the side....it has NO wiggle at all....and with a 4.75 inch blade??? its packing, i can totally rely on it in an emergency defensive role.......i am even gonna EDC it for a couple weeks, see if its capable of replacing my current single bladed knife....

  • Cool video. I am addicted to your vids man. I just got the one handed straight blade (non serrated version in Camo scales) the third one now for me they r great.

  • I serve, and have used Victor's one-hand in self defense once. Very reliable and comfortable in the hand. Blade can be opened as fast as other manual tactical folders. Thanks Victorinox.

  • It is also worth looking at Wenger's models which are pretty similar.

  • Looks like Victorinox has a non-serrated one-handed Trekker model available now. Style 54875 on their US web site.

  • i have one just like that but with a corkscrew, mines called a forester

  • My bad my knife also has the hack saw with files,I guess thats the only difference between the two versions.

  • I've got this same model and it's a great knife.Nice size, blades lock and it has a saw ...But i believe this model is called the LOCKSMITH, hence the locking blades, that what it says on the box it came with... Another great knife,Swiss knives RULE!!!

  • i like how he says that some of his videos will be short...but they turn out to be like 15:00 :)

  • u can even split wood with that saw..

  • 4:06 I found the saw useful, in cutting of a small branch from a tree at the Bust Stop [YRT 3209]. Every spring & summer, it would block my view of whether or not the bus was coming, from 2 blocks away.

  • No it's a typo! There's no such thing as a Bust Stop! Also 'of' is supposed to be 'off'.

  • I noticed that the toothpick on some models have a small bend at the tip. Not sure what the idea for this is.

  • Maybe its for sraching the bottom of your inner teeth.

  • @ 1ohtaf1: Or scratching your ass, if you are gentle enough! LOL I'm sorry, I had to say that! LOL

  • LOL

  • Victorinox knives in general are badass. Maybe not as "cool" or intimidating as other knives, but really useful in so many ways in that they have so many tools besides knives.

  • REALLY??? you just realized that???

  • I have the one handed trekker with the serrated edge. Nutnfancy to sharpen the serrated edge is easy just use a dmt rat tail diamond hone. I have used mine pretty hard. Pruning small branches from stickes to cutting cardboard. The back part of the blade I convexed. on problems.

  • What would you choose between Victorinox Trekker and Tool Logic SL Pro(with flashlight and firestarter) ? Thank you for the videos.

  • screwdriver is also a bottle cap opener! useful or what? good vid!

  • I had one of these for years, and before it was stolen it was EDC for me. I'm going to get on this week I think... ;)

  • a saw on a pocket knife taking up space ugh NOT REALLY no affense it takes no space and takes the same space as sissors in the knife plus a saw is better then a pair of sissors in a outdoor situation

  • ive used swiss army knives since i was 10 and ive out them through so much abuse! my favorite one is actualy a wenger, but i havnt found it 2 be in superior to my victorinox in any way. ive cut down so many huge branches with that saw! im kinda liking the new look these have and im gonna have to get one i think. swiss knives are about as perfect as u can get for a 1st knife for a kid 2 take out and roam around in the woods with =]

  • softer steel?? did vitorinox change their blade steel? last i remember they used some pretty good quality surgical...never really had issues with my old ones getting dull

  • how much does it cost??

  • in amazon it is about $35 or £25 odd

  • Retail online, approx $38.00-44.00

  • I have this knife best knife ever its very beefy and has just the right amount of stuff not overly creative =/ although its not classic red its a good knife its got a wood saw, rope cutter, knife, screwdriver, bottle opener, corkscrew, and some other things its pretty good

  • looks alittle boring for a knife-- i think i'll stick to benchmade

  • Again, thanks a lot TNP. For all you fellow Victorinox collectors, I just scored a Matterhorn Climber. Beautiful knife with great Matterhorn artwork on the handle...with a translucent ruby red color on the portion of the handle without the art. Super cool collectible!

  • I like my Wenger Handyman.

  • i have the victorinox sentinel!! :P But i really cant wait for that benchamde mini-barrage!!!

  • thats a swiss knife. it gives not betters

  • Always great to be prepared. Saws are awsome. Great vid.

  • Great video, TNP! Also, great to hear that you are going to keep doing knife reviews. I've had Victorinox Swiss Army knives since I was just a kid. They have served me well and I also enjoy collecting them. BTW: after watching your review on the Farmer version, I scored TWO of them. GREAT knives!

  • "BTW: after watching your review on the Farmer version, I scored TWO of them. GREAT knives!" Thanks a lot cmonsterz and congrats on those Farmers...great knives!

  • I think I'll wait for the new Swiss Army Soldier Knife coming out in the spring

  • I prefer the one handed opening trekker

  • whats your favorit knife brand?

  • i think he has a few, maybe spyderco, benchmade and..

  • You really can't beat Victorinox for an EDC knife that you need to use in a more sensitive environment. I carry the silver Victorinox swiss military issue knife with me for those and It's just the best! I remember that when I was working at a hotel I carried my Spyderco to work once, and tried to use it to open a box and got weird looks from guests! People are just more comfortable with the swiss knives...

  • Haha AWESOME Video!!

    I absoulutely loved it!

    Thanks for posting it!

  • Nice, you cant beat victorinox for the money! Put a pin in it too, if it has the hole, for digging out splinters or whatever.

  • I love guns but i like knife reviews better some reason. I didn't know one thing about knives before i started watching nutnfancy now i'm addicted thanks alot! ;P

  • dude, you should open a can and drill a hole with a swiss army in one of your videos!

  • I have the Forester which if i'm not mistaken is completely the same only instead of the screwdriver on the back you have a bottle openner which for traveling purposes actually makes more sense. Anyway, i'm very happy with it

  • LoL i loved the Reletively short part of this vid. Still though great review Glad to see more knife reviews from you nutnfancyy. Your projects are both fun and eductational to watch.

  • Hey Nutnfancy nice review.... not a moment too soon either, as I was just getting interested in these Swiss Army knives with locking blades. I hope you get your hands on the Wenger equivalents of this knife for review too. I'd be interested to hear your tupennyworth on those. Keep it up!

  • liner lock would be good for lefties

  • hey nutnfancy there is a nonserrated version of the one handed trekker coming out if you don't like the serrations

  • Good knife review as always but that's a pretty soft pocket tool. I'd take the Leatherman Skeletool over that anyday.

  • You would? The LM has no awl or saw and csots three times as much.

  • Well I suppose the Leatherman is better for work related tasks and the SAK is more survival/outdoors oriented. Gotta love the changeable bit driver and pliers on the leatherman though... Best $80 (Canadian) I've ever spent on an EDC!

  • Nice. My favorite swiss army model. I also want to try the one hand opener one without the serrations.

  • Thes were also (in green) the standard Dutch army knife. After a few years it was recalled I believe the large blade was to fragile.

  • Well, I wonder what I need to do to get you to look at the Pocket Bushman. The Pkt Bushman blows this Victorinox knife in the weeds. I guess all I can do is tell you about it. Great video, and

as always you bring info we all need. Keep up the good work. Bear

  • It's refreshing to hear that you will never quit with the knife reviews because no one does knife reviews like you can. I'm glad to hear that.

  • WOOOOOH! i bought and love this knife.

  • why does this not come with a clip?? i lost 2 of these... loss 70 bucks in total...jumped out of my pocket once while running and another time in a taxi ride..SOO FUCKING PISSED..

  • i like wegner knives better my friend has ran into several problems. iv had one small wegner for as long as i can remember, iv lost it so many times but it just keeps turning up somewhere. lost the tweezers and tooth pick though.

i like that this has a liner lock, looks nice kinda wish it also had a fully serrated blade

  • nice vid

  • You should seriously start a store or something, you would be such a great store owner, you have a lot of knowledge and expertise on everything about camping and knives and survival and guns. It would be the perfect guy-store.

  • I have a victorinox since i was 11 years old. It's a smaller standard version of a handyman. I got it from a swedish bust driver Stig and he had this knife for god knows how long. The point is i have been using this knife nearly every day and it still serves me really well. You'd be surprised how heavy use theese knives can stand!

  • I thought this guy was a tool but i have to say he won me over he has awsome vids.

and he very knowledgeable and i owe him a apology.keep up the good work. i'm a fan

  • On most victorinox pocket knives with phillips screwdrivers, right on the base of the pivot of the screwdriver, there might be a little hole for a pin. You never know when you might need a pin!

  • And ones with corkscrews...

  • Can't go wrong with a Victorinox knife.

  • on the web site, it says the locking screwdriver is also a "crate opener"

  • I feel warm and cossy when i watch your videos Nutnfancy.

5 stars for all of them i watch.

I wish i had a DVD of all of em.

  • I hear that man it's like watching your favorite show.

  • I can arrange that... Give me your Gmail adress and I can give you a DVD burnable compilation. Will take a few days though.

  • You can even use a rock to sharpen them... I mean if you are stuck somewhere with a stainless steel knife.. it might not make the most clean nice sharpening tool but it works...

  • i HAVE THIS KNIFE

  • want a cookie?

  • you joka

  • lol, pretty much. its a great victorinox, so i aint got nothin bad to say, just making a funny, lol.

  • ive got the one handed version. i love it!

  • thanks for the review. i was just looking at some victorinox knives the other day looking at some i might like.

  • I reprofiled like 12 on each side, my swiss army and now it chipps easly.

  • Is it basically a Victorinox Hiker?

It has the same exact tools -_-

  • Yah.

  • I have the One Handed Trekker, in partially serrated. It is not a true liner lock in that it is a slip joint with a liner lock... Not a big fan of the serrated edge, but I have been carrying Victorinox knives since I was 15 and those puppies are just about the best. And the tweezers and toothpick? I find them necessary. I prefer one with a scissors though. Victorinox is a cool company though, very serviceable knives. sharp and handy.

  • Thanks for that nice review once again.

Could you do any review on a tactical leg holster?

    Is there anyone you use?

  • It would really be awesome if you could do some case knife reviews.

  • good review; cool knife. i really like the locking blade and the philips driver on the back :D

  • Hi Nutin'. Been waiting to here your views on the liner lock Victorinox'. Prob' get one for my backpacking system (not EDC as here in UK can't carry blade A: that long or B: that locks; stick to my Huntsmanfor that). Also, that OD handeled modle you showed at 10:57 is the new 2009 issue knife for the Swiss army which, imo, is added cool.

  • The OD one is for Germany. The 2009 Swiss soldier has rubberized grip "laminated" to the plastic scales.

  • So it does, well spotted. Otherwise identical knife as far as i can see.

  • Corection, diferent deployent hole too... odd.

  • Five Stars!!

  • The reason why I love his reviews soooo much I like him sooo much is because he keeps it real :) Most people stop keeping it real because of companies.

  • Awesome review! But please compare it to the Wenger Ranger series!

  • Great Review!!!!

  • 4:29 "thats retarded" lmao

  • nice vid

  • The one handed model weighs 4.4 ounces.

  • nice video bro. hey I could see your set up in the reflection og the Blade... cool dude. thank you for you channel. better than TV

  • might i also suggest the victorinox outrider. it has the large lock blade, the saw, the scissors, a mini philips can and bottle openers. reemer and corkscrew ( large philips if in camo version)

  • Yah true primitive. Nutnfancy: I suggest you carry it on those pseudo carabiner key chain clips and clip it to your belt loops. One thing: The bundeswehr GAK lacks tweezers and a toothpick. Typically German.

  • hey nutn did you reprofile the blade

  • They offer a non serrated one.

  • Nice review as always. I love Nuntfancy. He always keeps it real and gives both good and bad things about all knives

  • After some more research, I am going to add this to my next knife purchase.

  • First! Nice review Nutn! good to see another knife review!
