Awesome, I can welcome myself to the club now can't I ??? :D I can definitely state that this video is not fake! It's real and it really works. Thank you for sharing this. I just got mine last week and everything works just fine. Easy to install and it takes a little time and effort to go through the whole (print / menu) assortment, but I am getting there and learning fast. Hope you had a great start into 2012. I habe some question please. By using CHDK, and when recording video, SX100is, A570is can do aditional digital zoom after the end of the optical zoom. Can SX200 can do ? Thank you ...

@cg94cg No, 4GB is not the maximum, I use CHDK with a 16GB SDHC card. But you need to use a card with 2 partitions (a small 2MB partition and a big one), you can find a description how to do that in the CHDK wiki article Bootable SD card.

I don't think you can install the sx200 firmware on to the sx210. Just go to the forum and ask if you can. I'm not sure.

CHDK is amazing, and it does a lot more than zoom and focus for video. It gives a lot of Canon P&S cameras functionality no other commercial camera can match, such as motion detection (fast enough to catch lightning!), infinitely variable intervals for time-lapse, and any kind of exposure, focus, or zoom bracketing. In fact you can write your own Basic scripts to do just about anything you can dream up. If you've got any kind of Canon P&S, you should see if there's a CHDK version for it.

manual focus means setting the focal distance yourself...so no you can't manual focus during video...you just push the shutter button and the camera focuses

help? i dont know what the difference is between optical zoom and digital zoom. whats the problem with this camera? im going to buy one on Sunday please help? why do u have to do all this seven steps.. for what.. ? thanks :)

google would help you a lot more then me:)...anyway...optical zoom is better because it doesn't fu*ck up your video quality...canon limited this camera to filming with digital zoom only....but if you are obsessed of filming...then you have to follow the guide to make your life better

why is your zoom so quiet? all the other sx200is chdk zoom videos pickup the motor noise much louder

because the zoom has 2 speeds...1 is quick and more noisy - as you see from 0:00 to 0:04..and then the slower speed from 0:07 to 0:11 which is a lot more quiet...and there was a lot of background noise (cars)

Once I start recording, I have to zoom out before I can optically zoom in, otherwise it will digitally zoom in. Is that the same for you?
