  • Sweet tune and one hell of a voice!

  • Humble Pie were known as a raunch band as were Cactus, Nazareth. Black Oak Arkansas and earlly Mott the Hoople. All those bands got little to no airplay. A big statement for a balless media outlet and our society. I could and did listen to those records all day long. I had hair down to my ass as well and a 455 H.O. Pontiac. Great Track !!!

  • I got to Humble Pie the wrong way--backwards, from the Black Crowes. But, man, am I glad I got to 'em!

  • the BC version is much better

  • saumarian tail / humble pie

  • Guitarist on left is in fact Steve Marriot, always was a skinny wee thing!

  • @Jazza54 Big in voice and talent tho jazza

  • The guitarist on the left-hand side of this photo (Peter Frampton, I would strongly presume) looks like he weighed about 99 pounds in weight at the time that this photo was shot. Almost completely irrelevant to that, though, is that Peter Frampton has always epicly mega-owned.

  • Onery, twoery, tickery, tabery.. Alabo, cackbo, tennery, labery Hustadang, bangalang, Humpty Dumpty is ninty-nine, And one's a hundred.

  • Seen them live in the 70,s at Birmingham town hall, and coventry...wish he could have carried on for longer.steve

  • @airbourne1944 saw them in brum too just great

  • awesome thanks for the post really take me back where i really belong !!

  • song from thunderbox album of the 1974

  • Most of the people who don't like this wouldn't know good music if it bit them on the ass! That's okay-----there's plenty of (C)Rap,(shit)-hop,elecsuckica and (sl)op for you to listen to!!

  • no mark farner is the best

  • @tulane111 YES!!!

  • This type of music can't be found nowadays. What a shame! There just aren't the artists out there that can pour their souls out like this generation did

  • HELL YEAH ! great rocking tune from the good old days of hard rock ! Steve may have screamed but I sure liked it ! HP was one of the best back then! ROCKON ~as for you atirisdes, you may be in the wrong type of music, get back to classical & STFU ya jackass!!

  • Beside Patti Labelle , Steve is the only artist I have ever seen or heard that needed no mike to fill a venue full of soul. Those who think he was "Screaming" think again. This LiL' Dude was a vocal powerhouse. I sat in on a rehersal at Matrix NYC studios (for a MSG show)and I can tell you,When Steve was ready to Blow ................Watch TF out !

  • "King Marriot!" What a powerhouse The Pie Rocked !

  • @nyrvg Hell yah!!! Mariott's voice kicks ass!!!

  • @MountainGyspy While growing up in NYC I never missed a Humble Pie show and they never dissapointed."King Marriot!" behind the mike, you better Look out,he took no prisoners

  • i'm with whizzer, nobody gives a fyk about your comments atirisdes...fuck, even typing your screen is apain in the balls, fuck off n leave if ya dont like humble pei ya shit head

  • thanks for your opinions atirisdes. nobody gives a fuck what you think.

  • marriott wasnt a good singer. he only screamed pretending to sing like a soul black singer. humble pie wasnt such a good band. they're not underrated. rockin the fillmore is an acceptable album, but even there you have to stand the unnecesary screaming and the mediocre guitar playing

  • @atirisdes your insane....thats all i can say....

  • @atirisdes I respect everybody's opinion, but when you talking absolute nonsense please check out other singers like Rick Astley, I'll bet you like him.

  • @atirisdes

And the beauty of YouTube is we're all entitled to our own opinions. However, there is something to say for the old adage of 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.' Peace out. Hope you find something worth your while elsewhere.

  • @robertakoon why say anything at all if yu dont like it

  • @atirisdes Is a douche cannon. Probably a Lady Gaga spankalong or rap-tard. Who needs you. You're not fit to suck the stains out of Steve Marriot's paisties you twonk!

  • Just a great song by a great band. Steve Marriot was amazing. The Black Crowes cover it well, and also check out Ann Peebles version. She absolutely kills it.

  • I seeked out this song after hearing the black crowes version. I like it but would much rather hear the crowes singing it.

  • Wow! Only 77 people rating this song up? What the fuck? :(

  • First heard this song as a B-side by The Black Crowes. Chris Robinson owes his fame and fortune to the influence of Steve Marriott's vocal tone and stylings. Love both bands. Humble Pie should have been/should be as appreciated as the Crowes are for being top-notch blooz-rock bands.

  • steve marriott is the second best lead singer mark farner is number one

  • @tulane111 one cannot go wrong with mark and don period!

  • hehe. I kinda wonder what this song is about, but then again its probably about a girl. Either way, Steve sings it so sexy

  • great song! I don't knew it. XD

  • For such a voice like that, he was so underrated. He deserved so much more than what was given to him.

Stephen Peter Marriott ,greatest vocalist. ever. no debate.

  • Remember when this was on 45 in 1974....on the juke box in our local bar. We wore it out!!!

  • the best.

  • Steve Marriot- one of the greatest white soul singers I've heard

  • @freedom013102 aha----there's the rub....SOUL SINGER!

  • Their Sounds Are Still Alive and Well !

  • Bill Wolfe used this as background tonight on his Rachel Maddow show web extra - most excellent song! Those folks at MSNBC rock...

  • Amen brother, lets thank the Black Crowes for keeping some real rock and roll alive. The lead singer in the Crowes gives credit to Humble Pie and Steve mariot for his inspiration. Rap and Hip Hop crap are to music what Professional wrestling is to sports.

  • @ZSOSER69 ; Marriott makes Robinson sound like Pat Boone

  • The Black Crowes do a great cover of this...check it out

  • Wow , insightful comment... like it or not buddy ,The Black Crowes are one of the few real rock bands left

  • I wouldn't have believed it until I saw them live!!! Awsume!!!!

  • vikramsng- yes, you are correct the Small Faces got/get little airplay over the years except for Itchycoo Park (which is about the only song I do not like!!) .

  • vikramsng Have you listened to the Small Faces catalogue. They were brilliant and in those days we traipsed out of the theatre with the bands...I was only feet away from Steve. I have followed him and his music ever since - his voice and the bands and the greatest.

  • i am completely over whelmed by humble pie and small faces... genius... and i thought the greats came out in the 70's... i ama young muscn from india... i completely love steve... why does no one ever talk of them... they could easily surpass the greats we know of today...

  • vikramsng - I am so glad you like Steve Marriott (Small Faces, Humble Pie, Packet of Three...and on...) cont........

  • Steve was an amazing singer. Check out the Live at the Fillmore album. Screaming soul...

  • saw them in 1974 in Bilzen (Belgium),Steve and Frampton, great show!! On that concert were Focus,Man,and Greenslade too!

  • steve you are humble pie rest in peace i hope you no jesus christ for your lord ad savior i prayer for you brothers

  • This and "I Can't Stand The Rain" ..

WOW!!!! Right after dinner ...I had me

TWO slices of PIE!!! Potent Pie ...I

    might add!!!

  • did it have marijuana baked into it? omg that's ingenious im going to try that.

  • Jimmy Page offered Steve the Front man spot in Zep before Plant., but Steve turned him down. Then Page plays with Paul Rogers in the Firm later on. Guess the vocals moved him too! Steve's Manic energy wouldn't have lasted long in the flight of Zeppelin I believe. ~Cactus Pete

  • Yeah, could you imagine Led Zeppelin with a soulful singer? Wow.

  • I'm glad that Steve fronted his own band instead of Zep or the Stones. He was much better at doing his own thing.

  • For anyone who's interested this is a very close cover of Anne Peeble's debut single, hence it sounding like a Hi Records production (Al Green etc) with rock guitars.

  • Real stuff !!! for serious guys who feels the rea l Funky Rock... Great band.. actually I am thinking about the band of Gypsis.. Out !!!!

  • Kid don't know r/r the station play the same shit if u do hear any pie its 30 days classic rock my dick in a box thats classic to them sad

  • Why isn't this on the radio? Humble Pie IS Rock and roll!!!!!!

  • i wonder the same thing listening to my local classic rock station, but its all about money and sponsers which is why they play the same songs over and over again and never actually play something good or something u wouldnt expect, on my way to work 2mrw i know im gunna hear stairway to heaven and then the same old beatles block and then greenday and nirvana what the fuck is that why is greenday and nirvana on a classic rock station

  • Nice to see so many remember the Pie... Marriott - a unique original and just simply the best - still puts a smile on my face

  • this song remembers of a song from when i saw lenny kravitz a couple of years ago in nurnberg. i forgot the name of the song. great groove.

  • todays music sucks

  • You are so Right!

  • Watching bands like this makes it so obvious that kids today have no soul.

  • Now I remember why I didn't listen to that much Led Zepplin in the day I was listening to HUMBLE PIE!!!

  • Rock On!!!

  • love you and agree wholeheartedly with your comment, i pressed the wrong fecking thumb! the zeppelin boys could not make my feet move and groove like the pie, rock on mr marriott

  • Love Zep but I have to agree, Humble Pie and Free always moved me more, especially in terms of vocals!

  • marriot is the shitttttttttttttttt!!!!

  • I agree Marriott is in my top 10 for greatest rock vocalist ever. So many of today's singers can't even come close to his technique

  • I think marriott might just be number one on my list. utter class!!!!

  • fukin hell yea!!

  • British blues/rock at its toe-tappin' finest.

  • thanks for sharing the Pie

  • Steve Marriott, greatest rock vocalist ever. Period.

  • hallelouliah and amen to you brother ;-)

  • The greatest rock'n'roll band in the land. Steve Marriott, killer voice and killer live performance. Thanks for posting.

  • THANK YOU so very much for the Humble Pie!

  • Hell yes, cool tune, miss these ol boys
