The great news is that now that Motion is pushing their J3500 widescreen tablet model (another incredible tablet, of course) the LE1700 is popping up everywhere for between 500 and 1000 dollars US, depending upon the build.
@Gimble442 I would steer clear of anything that has been EOL for this long. Most LE1700s would be approaching 4-5 years old now and PC technology is not designed to last that long. Bear in mind that this video is over 2 years old now...
THANK YOU, people keep telling me to get an iPad, and I generally say the same thing, im looking to buya LE1700 :/ hopefully i can get it , anyways great vid.
i love my touchsmart for drawing.. i haven't used a wacom but being able to see what i'm drawing on makes it just like drawing on paper except minus pressure sensitivity
Yes, it certainly was more bulky... 12" screen vs 10". Nevertheless, it is no longer in production. Focus has moved over to the new Motion J3400 which is 12" too, but has the best outdoor viewable screen available, plus true 7 hour battery life..
who needs the swivel? I do. i like that new model because it does have a bigger screen, but i love the fact that i can just swivel the screen into place. i dont have to detach anything.
I'll stick with my TC1100. I hate the rectangular design of other hybrids.

Did they ever come out with any other models/upgrades that were just like this?
Thanks

@ultrapirtle Good idea. Look for the SXGA model with 1400x1050 resolution. Brilliant!

Dude! A sliding key board would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Idea! don't take it!
Okay no it wasn't Lol! I tried to write comment already
but it didn't post and I don't know why :o(

But the swivel Key board makes it the shit.
You can just swivel it when ever you need it
and then, just swivel it back when you're done, right.
You don't have to worry about misplacing your key board which is a very good attribute =(
Why didn't they jus make the Motion with a swivel?
Great concept " pop it in pop it out".
Or you know what would be a super great Idea?
What if they made A slide key board! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't you dare steal my Idea!

Would have been great with the swivel!

Would this be a good tablet to use for drawing in photoshop CS3. Or should I just stick with a USB pen tablet
IIandrokII 2 years ago
No. Just wait for the iSlate.

LOL, what are you going to do with an iPad? There's no presure sensitive wacom stylus on that. Have fun drawing stick people!
You need to go with a Wacom based tablet like the Fujitsu T4310 or any of the Motion Computing tablets for Photoshop.

that seems bulky as hell compared to the TC 1100. It seems that some of the portability was lost.

Hey, thanks for this. I was about to pick up a used TC1100, but now I will research this one first.
What about heat and noise? Could you offer some insight?
Thanks!

I have not found heat or noise to be a problem at all. They do get warm, but I've never had the LE1700 get burning hot like some other notebooks do.
