When is war justified? Shit, lame question. We're not talking about 'war" in a generic sense. We're talking about this war. We had no U.N. approval to launch it. We had no legal reason to launch it. Can you give me an actual LEGAL law that says we had a right to invade Iraq? And if we did, then why didn't the rest of the world go along with us? Fuck Bush's bullshit coalition of the strong armed and bribed. Only England really committed anything to the war.

His crimes are also our crimes, seeing as how we supported him for all those years. I believe it was Bill O'Reilly that offered a bet to anyone willing to take him up on it that military action in Iraq wouldn't last longer than week. That was just one voice. There were many others.

Do you get that we're not in the nation building phase and never have been? We've been in the fighting a war phase and that has never ended. You cite World War 2 as an example, but the nation building phase there began AFTER the fighting was over.

Instead Hussein had "rape rooms," torture chambers, public executions, be-headings political assassinations, assassinations of the families of those he assassinated, chemical weapons used on his citizens, killings of all his generals, genocide of Kurds & the descendants of the original Mesopotamians, destruction of antiquities. Oh, and killing US troops.

Yes, and guess what? They still have all those things. Not just the ones we set up after we invaded and benevolently liberated them from Saddam's torture by replacing it with our own, but there's plenty of clans and militias that engage in torture on a regular basis in Iraq. Google "U.N. report on torture in Iraq if you want to see.

Sorry buddy, but unless there's an overwhelming humanitarian crisis going on, which there wasn't in Iraq at the time of the invasion if you don't count the U.N. sanctions, then they need to fight there own shit. Time and again we've seen that when foreign powers intervene in other nations, the results are often very bad. And I don't believe for one minute that we're actually there to spread "freedom." More like grab some oil and use freedom as an excuse.
