  • Oh my god, when he is in life , it's horrible for him :(

  • Comment removed

  • that is fukked up.

  • people laughed when he died but that wasnt their fault. When tommy collapsed, the audience thought it was part of the joke, they didnt realise that something was terribly wrong until he was taken off stage. Atleast he died making people laugh. R.I.P Tommy Cooper, you still bring joy and laughter to us all

  • Tommy died with the laughter in his ears of the audience he loved

    God bless him

  • I think everyone is looking at his death from the wrong point of view. Go listen to Tommy C by Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. It's all about how beautiful it is that this man lived to make people laugh & died doing what he loved most.

Do you think he wanted people to mourn him? Or cry over his death? I certainly don't. I can't imagine a more perfect way to go for a more wonderful man.

  • OH MY.... :( tho i am not surprised the audience laughed, the way he falls back n his hat falls, it looks like summit he'd do as a joke, his type of humour, i bet audience were horrified when they realized after that he was dying infront of their eyes. terrible, i bet he wanted to scream "no, help this isn't a joke!!" :/ :(

  • I was too young to remember this event. Both my parents were watching this has it was broadcast. It really upset my parents. I am a fan of british comedy and even on replay this scene is quite sad to view. Tommy copper should be remembered for his legacy and life not his all be it public death.

  • Imagine how bad the people in the audience felt. I know that was a part of Tommy routine but still.

  • @brism32 it's tommy cooper not terry cooper

  • I can understand why people laughed as you would obviously think as an audience member it was part of the act. If I was an audience member and I was laughing and to find out later he had actually died right in front of me I'd feel horrible.

  • Tommy was a brilliant man. And I'm sorry he died, but the way he died was perfectly suited for him. People where laughing, having a good time, I think he would have wanted it that way.

  • @sugarpuffsandwhich, they knew something was wrong when they cut to the break. His agent tried to do chest compressions but to no avail

  • its sad they all thought he was joking and it was part of the show but it is a shame that happend

  • Tommy inspired so many comidians and magians he inspired me and he was a great loss to this world R.I.P Tommy

  • @Time71Team I can't say I agree about it being beautiful. Not in pain? He had a heart attack. He was clearly suffering; you can see and hear his dying breaths, and they do Not sound peaceful. I think I would have felt very alone...surrounded by people, but no one helping. Being laughed at instead of being saved. Very sad.

  • @MalteserTree Totally right! He had more than enough time to know what was happening to him He'd had another heart attack before this back in 1978,

  • @Time71Team I agree with you. What a wonderful way to go..doing what you loved the best, surrounded by people who loved you for it and forgave you for whatever else you may have been or done.

  • @HeatherRuthDiane

I think you'll find it was it as i too saw it.. RIP tommy cooper!! :'(

  • Legends never die, this is one of them.

    R I P

  • He died doing what he loved. Maybe he would have been glad that he kept the audience laughing...even beyond the end.

  • I don't get why the people backstage didn't do anything. They must've known it wasn't part of the script.

  • @StlyDutch HI THERE, because they all thought he was still acting, he had a rough idea of what he was going to do on stage, he was very unpredictable. This actually went live, and they cut to the adverts....so most people thought something happened...hope this explains?!

  • @StlyDutch Exactly.

  • @StlyDutch Tommy was a professional! he would not have deviated from the planned act! I've seen him do this trick to completion in another video

  • Very very sad, i have never seen him die on stage before but i can remember news was saying they thought it was one of his pranks. R.I.P. Tommy Cooper the funniest comediun ever.. Xx

  • @MegaDaveross "i have never seen him die on stage before" .... That's because you can only do it once. But if you can forgive my pathetic attempt at humour, I too, never saw the original TV broadcast but I clearly remember the occasion; a work colleague of mine at the time did see the broadcast and she was understandably upset the following day. Dare I say it, but having watched this, the prospect of death seems somehow less daunting. Long live Terry Cooper ... RIP

  • That is so sad. Poor man. Did he have any symptoms prior to this? He seemed to think something was wrong a couple of seconds beforehand, when he put his arms out. I suppose everyone thought he was indeed acting when he actually collapsed, because of the funny man he was. How long was it until they realised he wasn't well?

  • @sugarpuffsandwich You can see all is not well by the look on his face just before he goes down, He'd suffered a major heart attack in Rome in 1978 I find it really hard to believe He'd had no symptoms in the intervening time! He had a known heart condition that should have been managed with medication (I assume it was) but you never know when the big ones coming! the real damage had already been done in 78

  • I have never seen this before and was worried about watching it. But him hearing everyone laughing in his last moments must have been a wonderful way to leave this world. He went very quick too not in a home or in hospital in pain for months. Fantastic man! A very funny man and respect to him for going out in style!!! Bless you Tommy always loved your tap on a piece of string joke!!! lol!

  • Without a doubt, death is a sad and painful experience, particularly for those that really care and love for the deceased. Having said that, I also believe that there is little more beautiful than a man that dies defending his legacy. I'm not great with words but to understand what I'm on about a little more, consider this - watch?v=r8zi7vcnjVc

  • In a recent interview one of the stage hands who were behind the curtains at the time, claims that Tommy had indeed shit himself, which backs up the roaring fart noise that can be heard just before he tips over. Whether or not that is true, I agree this is a beautiful video of a beautiful man, and should be left up.

  • RIP

  • RIP mr cooper....

  • If you listen closely he let's out a roaring fart just before he falls over. Priceless lol.

  • @RyanDunnsLostSneaker Whats funny about that, you're looking at a man dying.

  • @RyanDunnsLostSneaker That's not a fart. It's what's known as a "death rattle". As people approach death their lungs often fill with fluid, and as they take their last breaths, the bubbling of the air through the fluid makes that exact noise. If you Google "death rattle" you can find some audio clips of it. It's notoriously loud, and I've heard it myself while trying to resuscitate someone who had just suffered a massive heart attack.

  • @dunebasher1971 I want to thank you very much for your comment............. I found it very informative and I appreciate you taking the time to explain. The only thing I slightly vary on, is they say Tommy died die at any point during this video, he died moments after behind the curtain in the arms of others.

  • why does everyone assume that this is the way he wanted to die? maybe he wanted everyone in tears.. just because he was a comedian doesnt mean he want people to laugh at his death

  • @llleeonnn I agree. Eric Morecambe was another great and after Tommy died Eric said that he would hate to die like that, scary when you think how close he came to that happening.

  • Tommy Cooper is alot of peoples favourite all time comedian (me included) he had a stage presence and timing that most modern comedians can only dream about and to die onstage doing the thing he loved the most and at a ripe old age is both hardcore and admirable , a TRUE legend ...

  • Even the assistant seemed to think he was just kidding about again, a sad video but I hope it's how he ould have wanted the end to come, just sorry for those who had to witness it.

  • @pcwhite1964 Soz hard.

  • A strangley beautiful way to go that, dying doing what he loved. R.I.P Tommy Cooper, you legend!

  • He was a legend.. RIP...

  • RIP Tommy Cooper I know many who remember seeing this and remember watching it as if it was yesterday especially when they realised he'd died

  • @JoeSoap68 what are you talking about.

  • @JoeSoap68 are you that fucking ignorant!? tommy would have loved nothing more than to go out like this. this is beauty in its purest form and if u cant see that i feel sorry for you

  • HE LEFT PEOPLE LAUGHING WHEN HE DIED IT WAS MEANT TO BE A COOL WAY OF LEAVING THIS WORLD .. HE WILL LIVE ON FOREVER IN HIS ALL FANS HEARTS ...

    HE IS LAUGHING IN HEAVEN

  • What a talent. Such a shame that he was so affected, and ultimately destroyed, by his demons. By the way, anyone who knows Tommy Cooper's act will realise it's far from strange for an audience to laugh at this. Obviously they didn't know what was happening: they thought it was Tommy being Tommy.

  • tbh the audience got some bad humor.

  • @selenanub what the hell you on about , this guy was amazing

  • @wagsta1 Yea, but them people got no humor..

  • Something I never thought I'd ever see,

  • Tommy Cooper a legend, never to be replaced. R.I.P. part of me didnt want to believe this existed,I kind of wish i had never seen it,weirdly i expected a joke.Im stunned these have not been removed.

  • Sad. I agree, you can't blame the audience.

  • he barks before he died :O shocking, horrible and sad

  • Tommy is a legend.

It's a pity that so many comments here are people fighting in such moronic ways .TC deserves more respect.

  • Tommy you are a fucking legend we miss you

  • @destructivedandy I remember watching this live. Tommy wasd always joking around so I think it was a lovely way to go with the audience applause ringing in his ears. RIP Tommy.

  • oh shit...

  • Get a life 'ROCK0ND0N'

  • @R0CK0ND0N Well you typed it in here. Prick. Is this your life? This what you've done with it. Posting hate on youtube. Wow, well done you 'big man'

  • R.I.P.

  • I remember watching that when I was a small kid! I always remember him having a heart problem, and when I saw him fall to the floor like that I knew something wasn't right! It doesn't show but afterwards you could see a hand appear from behind the curtains! As soon as I saw the hand I knew he wasn't acting! The shop was interrupted and after a while a special news bulletin told us he had died! He died on stage with laughter in his ears! The way he wanted to go!

  • r.i.p , im just watching it on c5 never new he died , so sad :(

  • @harryinlead ..........you never knew he died? you thought tommy cooper was Alive? .. fuck me.

  • @thespectra dont get cocky with me please do you whant to start again :

    r.i.p tommy cooper , we all miss u . :(

  • Comment removed

  • i didnt know heart attack would go down so so peacefully. at least looking at it.. oh my god.. shocking...

  • I think this is a strange video. In one way it's very very sad. In another it's beautiful. He was a comedian and a great entertainer, and in my opinion better he died on stage doing what he loved than walking down the street. I think he would have enjoyed the irony of people laughing him on his way.

  • @Xrakes This wasn't it. I saw the show where he died and this isn't it.

  • U just clocked?

  • aww. his last words we're "thank you love"

  • yes my dad seen this live he was in the audience i just showed him this and he said he remembered it as if it was like yesterday.

  • @Time71Team very few people know what its like to have their heart fail while still conscious

  • i liked this video in his memory not because he died. RIP tommy cooper

  • At the moment this entertainer died, even with a room full of people not one tear was cried, much less they rose to their feet and they laughed and clapped.

Now tell me one fucking thing that's more beautiful than that.

  • well that kinda looks like he's sleeping at first.. anyway RIP!

  • RIP

  • I don't know if I should like this video or not ....

  • Do not remove this, watch it people - death is inevitable. Try and delude yourself and your kids that it will never happen....

Maybe if we stopped having this western Victorian view of death, where we hide it from view we might actually start living our lives...

  • I was watching it live at the time.

  • Get tthis off youtube!

  • He died to the sound of laughter, if i were a comedian that would be a fitting end for me!! RIP Tommy Cooper

  • I'm in 2 minds about this. If I was in the audience that day, I know that I'd always feel a terrible guilt for laughing at this scene. On the other hand, he died in a way most comic geniuses say they'd like to go - with people laughing at them. RIP.

  • This is a beautiful moment, and exactly how Tommy would have wanted to go. Check Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - Tommy C Great song that sums this up nicely.

  • Such a sad scene, I almost wish I hadn't watched. But that's a way for a good performer to go, keep them laughing right to the bitter, tragic end. I feel sorry for the people who kept laughing when they thought it was all part of the act, they must geel such terrible guilt. They shouldn't, Tommy would have forgiven them :(

  • R.I.P tommy cooper great man great comedian you will be sorley missed

  • Just think how bad they must have felt after they relised what had actually happened and what they did.

  • Tragic scene, but I'm sure, as a prolific comic, would have wanted to go out with laughter. The world lost one of it's finest that day. RIP

  • this is really horrible to watch though. poor guy.

  • This man was my hero, kinda wished I hadn't watched it now...

  • Tommy Cooper dedicated his life to making people laugh. For inconsequential laughter and applause to accompany his death rather than tears of sadness is a truly beautiful thing.

    R.I.P.

  • Keep this up PC, it's interesting footage.

  • You can't blame the audience here. They think it's an act. Tragic and harsh footage. But I can't imagine a more appropriate death for a comedian then to die on stage with people laughing and applauding.

    R.I.P. Mr. Cooper

  • Oh, that is so tragic. I understand why those present thought it might be part of one of his zany acts, but when they knew the truth they must have been devastated. Wonderful comedian/conjurer, TC. I do not like seeing this, though. Please get rid of it: death is never entertaining.

  • @llynfach Piss off pig, death is inevitable and should be viewed. Keep living in "sunshine and rainbow land" though

  • @ZipZagginGallifrey What a vicious little swine you are. One wonders what your parents must be like. Shudder!

  • I remember watching this on television when this happened. I also remember seeing a hand come from behind the curtain to check his throat before the tv company cut to a commercial break.

People genuinely thought this was part of Tommy Cooper's act, as most of his routine consisted of magic tricks going wrong or general clowning around. What you don't see is the moment when the laughing stops as a hand appears and people begin to realise what is going on...

  • Check Dan Le Sac - Tommy C.

    Idiots.

  • People are laughing at the fact he's dying!? Ignorant pigs. Makes me angry.

  • @iNeedaDoctor21 Gosh, you're a moron...I think it's pretty obvious that they thought he was just kidding around.

  • @iNeedaDoctor21 If only you had been in the audience you could have jumped in to action and saved his life with your mobile defibrillator. Three cheers for hindsight man!

  • @iNeedaDoctor21 You ignoramous of course they were not laughing at the fact he was dying! They all thought it was part of the act!

  • Horrible..

  • Get this fucking down now.

  • Why don't you take this off?

  • Just like dat!

  • omfg... the man dies on stage and people laugh at him X_X so sad...

  • @Cnupoc well he was a comedian so they thought it was an act

  • @WorldTributes Thats funny you saying I am Dense while talking in tongue and not making any sense whatsoever. Its funny you saying your not worked up yet finish the reply with a !.Nobody understands what you are saying. You talk rubbish and you saying I give wrong psychological profile only makes me right about you when you go on the defensive with that sort of reply.Dilusional I am not.An attention seeking idiotic freak that forgot how this got started you are.If anything I am spot on about you.

  • @WorldTributes How about this one since you like quotes..Every action has an opposite reaction.

  • @WorldTributes Lets have this right.I never asked you to reply to a statement I made and clearly made a deliberate attempt to rub me up the wrong way by making unecessary cruel comments about the above video. You have compassion and are a very sad individual.Your expecting me to go away probably like so many you have rubbed up in the past. But I wont.Try as you might I will continue to wipe the floor with you everytime you stink up this forum with your inane and very poor standard of responses.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Son the only person worked up here is you not me! We can continue talking like this till doomsday if you like so please my guest. You are very dense my boy very dense and your talk is typical of people i do love to rub up the wrong way if i can. You still never answered my question but that is because you are too dense like i mentioned. On top of that son you seem very delusional and keep fitting me into the wrong psychological profiles. So son think it over if you please.

  • @WorldTributes Ive visited your channel and noticed on your wall there are a collection of people who you have rubbed the wrong way and responded negative. You go around on these sites looking upset and Troll people but you picked me which was a mistake on your part as I have and continue to take you apart. You repeat yourself with nonsense and the only reason you are still posting is because your hanging on until I stop responding to make it look like you won the battle.Silly little boy.

  • Comment removed

  • @WorldTributes You only have to look at your Channel to see how much people hate you and clearly you get off on this attention.Your the cause of your own downfall and you deserve it.Have fun with that.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Getting off on it yes i know the expression well my son! I will have my fun of course yes very good my boy. What else can i say that has not already been said already? Where else is there to turn? I would like to now refer to the words of Alias von ekwells when he once remarked that to turn the tide to blue when it is awash with green is to turn the tide on you when the earth has spewed its bean! Wise words and certainly fitting to describe this nitemare of faggotness!

  • @WorldTributes Ahhh the dont come onto sites like this and make hateful disrespectful remarkes about the dead in order to get attention little boy.I have no respect for Trolling un educated morons like yourself.Ill always treat people like you with the contempt you deserve because thats all you deserve.Respect comes hand in hand and you are the one who is need of being taught a lesson. And Id be more then glad to see you get what you deserve later in life.Your the Tumour on the ass of life.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Son you have to stick with the rhythm of the humor and color of your yankee doodle straps as we say to keep on the right path to glory ok! However i will convey back your comments to faggot central HQ and see if you still could be a running contender in the comedian 2012 stakes.

  • To the people on this page I am asking you to please either put in a complaint to pcwhite1964 about WorldTributes and get this vile Troll removed from this forum OR mark his posts as spam or report him.I have already done so and I think If enough of us join together we will see that last of this wasters posts on this forum.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Son you have no right to talk about me this way and i demand you show some respect to your elders ok! You need to be taught more than a few lessons my boy and not just in comedy.

  • @cbass3789 I second that sir. R.I.P Tommy Cooper you were a legend and a unique Entertainer that came well before your time.No matter what a minority of idiots who post hate because there lives are empty. You made peoples lives full of laughter and thats how you will be remembered.Nobody can take that away from you.God Bless.

  • @WorldTributes Keep replying little boy.Your now getting the attention you craved off others now beside me who think your a goof off in life. This guy died with millions of people laughing with not at him.Youll be lucky to get anyone at your funeral.Like I said keep replying jelouse little boy and keep hating on the successful "Faggots" in life while you go about your crappy day to day job and continue to be a non entity in life.Id say your Mother still loves you but you dont know who she is.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 My mom loves me still i think that sounds like a song! Son do you have any idea what WorldTributes actually means or stands for huh boy? I think you would never work that out because you just cant cut it at all. I had high hopes for you my boy but as i suspected your nothing but just another faggot. on a dish served up cold. Now i know how you like your faggots served anyway. Ok son.

  • RIP LEGEND.

  • @Time71Team Nothing was wrong son it all went perfect to plan! Even down to this man giving off his last fart! He gave it his best shot and hit the target. Yes sirree!

  • At least he died with the sound of laughter in his ears

    Dear Tommy is sorely missed.

  • @howard1707 He fell to the sound of laughter and he hit his mark. Right on cue. Amen son to that!

  • @WorldTributes So youve finally replied back and again with something completley irrelevant. So you was an Orfan?Im not suprised your parents gave you up.A clown you are sir,Deceased Tommy Cooper is, well done good observation but again he died loved unlike yourself.Even your own mother didnt want you, lol. Now I can see why you have hatred and I was right all along.I pitty you "son".

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Wrong psychological profile son! Orphan not Orfan my boy. By the way have you seen the film? You people do seem to like your faggots i must say that. How do prefer them served anyway?

  • He died smiling

  • i would like to carry on to correct your on going bullshit rant but realise im not the only one who has found you to be a dumb, annoying yank who tells other ppl their dont have much of a life but your clearly a obese retarded cunt who spends 20 hours a day (the other 4 hours wanking because you have no idea what a woman feels like) talking bullshit, playing world of warcraft and talking MORE bullshit.

im goning to end this conversation now because your boring son, RIP TOMMY COPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember it well. The camera stayed on his legs sticking out of the curtain for several minutes after that and then the audience began muttering

  • ha ha ! ugly fat monster!

  • @WorldTributes I dont think you realise that nobody cares.People who are reading this will revert back to past posts to see how this got started and they will look at you with the same contempt you give people who are actually cared about and appreciated out of nothing more then jelousy. We should feel sorry for people like you.Like I said before "Son" your nothing more then a self important clown that nobody cares about. But dont worry your mother still loves you.....

  • @WorldTributes You dont really have much of a life do you.I bet your hurting inside knowing that deep down while your "Laughing at me" ripping you to shreds with accurate statements of your vile rant you realise that your life is very lonley in that one bedroom flat.To be fair I wouldnt be suprised if your still with your parents.Having now been reduced to a talking in tongue about me going to my knees and thanking cooper on a video I have realised your nothing more then a clown yourself son.lol

  • @SalmolsKing.Just trying to see if this idiot (WorldTributes) noticed the differance. He didnt....

  • I didn't see this originally, although I heard about it, and now wished I hadn't seen it this time!

  • @WorldTributes so erm..find me a spelling mistake in any of my posts.Educate me gramma king. You cant. You have nothing. But dont worry Im still giving you the attention your looking for sweetie.Read my comments again you fucking un educated gramma Twat.I thanked him for giving us years of laughter not this one sketch in particular.Maybe Ill do a one night show and hopefully youll be there.Ill just look for the biggest heckling attention seeking non entity in the room.Youll stick out a mile.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 You spelt Grammar wrong. It's ok man I'm here to help.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 I think you should thank him especially for this performance particularly dont you son? Get on your knees now in fact and do the honors! Video it even and sling it onto youtube so others can see and have a laugh as well as me ok.

  • @hotrodrace notice how this attention seeker (WorldTributes) is loving this right now with the quick response but slow insults.Hes probably come straight from work (If he works) and on the internet just for this response.Pulphead? Is that the best you have? Why dont you drink drive and plough into a train by driving over a level crossing you fucking unlikeable faggot.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 That was funny son you see you should get into the comedy game like i suggested! Just imagine it for a second standing on stage cracking your one liners, beer in one hand and cigarette in the other, with the stage color lights gleaming in your face and the endless roar of laughter from the audience! Pulphead one night only the dvd. Yes sirree!

  • @WorldTributes i would like to carry on to correct your on going bullshit rant but realise im not the only one who has found you to be a dumb, annoying yank who tells other ppl their dont have much of a life but your clearly a obese retarded cunt who spends 20 hours a day (the other 4 hours wanking because you have no idea what a woman feels like) talking bullshit, playing world of warcraft and talking MORE bullshit.

im goning to end this conversation now because your boring son, RIP TOMMY

  • @WorldTributes Why would I need to learn to spell in a comedy circuit when I am verbally articulating what I am saying on stage you fucking idiot. As for my spelling I dont see any problems other then your desperate attempt at trying to find some sort of thread you call an insult "Son" which is failing miserably along with your gramma.Your an uninteresting faliure in life and feel the need to create attention for yourself on the web to get a response you cannot come close to in your real life.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Who knows the face behind the mask son, but we can see you made an attempt to spell properly this time which is good going. I hope this video gives you years more laughter anyway. And dont forget the popcorn huh son.

  • IS This actual real footage???

  • I love the way this cunt (WorldTributes) tries to degrade and look down at posts by calling them "son".To be honest I wouldnt give this attention seeker the time of day.Hes another random Troll looking for attention he wouldnt normally get in his personal life.If he did he certainly wouldnt be on the internet leaving worthless posts with no value or genuine opinion. Why not just say look he was a great performer but I wasnt very keen on him as an act and have a mature opinion?Fucking idiot.

  • @WorldTributes very well said you arrogant materialistic insensetive peice of Troll shit.Lets face the reality of the fact that this man was a great performer and admired by many long after he passed away.Something your jelouse and self important ass will never come close to.Enjoy your rant you self hating attention seeking fuckwitt of a human being because when you pass on nobody will remember or care. The only jackoff from faggot land I see is the jelouse Troll who sent me a reply.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Well put sir.......This WorldTributes waste of space probably exists on one brain cell which barely allows his eyes to work.....Certainly doesn't feed his brain with the crap that he writes on here!!!!

  • @hotrodrace Another potential comedian we have here besides pulphead thats great stuff! Keep on chuckling then.
