  • Someone stole some of the Pelts.

  • the cups aren't missing, they have moved, they insert and need to be clamped in. some have slid and clustered together leaving gaps

  • wHY ARE THERE SO MANY CUPS "MISSING" ON THE WHEEL? wHAT IS THE PRODUCED POWER, WHAT IS THE HEAD AND FLOW?

  • The Pelton wheel, located in the ravine at the south side of the meadow, is one of the last remnants of the resort that once stood in this meadow. Bill Morrow installed this Pelton wheel and its water works in the 1930's. The pelton wheel drove generators which supplied electricity used to light the hotel and cabins. As you walk around the Goldmyer preserve you will see the remnants (pipe, valves, etc) of the water works which were installed by Bill Morrow during the 1930s

  • @rubiconxj I think you are confusing this hot spring with the one on the north fork skykomish.

  • Thanks for your comment. I would love to see some of those videos you are talking about. I think the Pelton Wheel used to spin around because the water was redirected from the creek.

    Cheers-

  • One wonders if, with a little work, this could be pumping a little electricity into the grid somewhere. You can get cheap induction motors on ebay, and they can produce electricity. There are some amazing vids on YouTube where motors are used to generate electricity in remote places.

  • Too bad you couldn't pan around up and down and show us the setting it was in.

  • I spun this by hand also...probably 10 years ago. It just went and went. We tired of watching it spin and finally walked away.

  • @Noppit cool story bro.

  • It should be driving a genorator. Whats Up????

  • I spun the thing around with my hand.

  • I can't figure out why this has been views so many times?!!

  • Because its beautiful! Fantastic Engineering!

  • @swampdweller5 people are actively seeking alternative electricity right now. alternative, lol no pun intended. 1930s and still running, well done him !
