  • As I keep on telling my children.....You SHOULD always keep in touch with your friends.

  • This absolutely blows my top off. All that jangle, I love it.

  • This is probably my favorite song by The Wedding Present, I had it originally on single and it featured on their second album 'Tommy' which was more a collection of singles they'd already done.

Although its not the most well known Weddoes song I reckon there are a fair few people who'd name this as amongst their top 3. I loved the frantic 'George Formby-esque' guitar andthe lyrics are so poigniant in retrospect. If you want to hear and enjoy The Wedding Present listen to the older stuff!

  • If you enjoyed this have a listen to Stheno & Euryale - Valentine

  • Love 80s indie vids. Always playing in fields or on the beach or some wierd shit.

  • Best Weddo song!

  • Proof that there's a lot you can do with just two chords.

    D and G

  • Still sounds magic today. Whenever I hear a wedding present song it makes me happy.

  • thumbs up if you played this song at your wedding

  • lol the guitarist is a science teacher at my school.

    the grapper

  • they gave me lift home from a gig in huddersfield in their van.

  • This song defines the good times in my life ,great stuff.

  • Do you remember Peel accidentally playing this twice in the same Festive Fifty (probably due to having the freak double pressing) and not noticing?

  • Gedge signed my T shirt in Bristol - that beats you! It was Hit parade Fodder - could have been silver shorts

  • Ah the memories. Seen them first in Derry about 1987, fell in love with Sally ,swapped my Smiths T shirt for a Ukrainians T with Peter the guitarist, then stole the VW badge from their camper and laughed when they saw it gone. Seen them next in Birmingham Hippodrome few years later when they were at the height of their powers. I missed them recently in Wolves but will catch up if I can. Different band but Gedge only has to sing and I'm hooked all over again. Class

  • A long time ago... GREAT!!!

  • They should have been massive. This is indie music as it was meant to be x

  • Never heard anything like The Weddoes, going to Brighton and Leeds end of August. A must before I die.

    Normie Z

  • Today's world needs more early Wedding Present.

  • maybe if gedge listened to his own song's title the old wedding present would get back together and we wouldn't be stuck with shit like el ray

  • At least I find my favourite song after 18 years!! thanks to the radio, thanks to internet!!!

  • I can remember, circa 1990, learning to play drums along to this. And I failed. Miserably.

  • I think I can see Morrissey popping out behind a tree.

  • @superchunk321 If it was Morriseey he'd have been behind a Hedge (obscure NME reference)

  • 50,000 Wedding Present fans can't be wrong.

  • To a bridge...that stood close by the sea...

    A smile....in these ungrateful times.......

  • Dave Gedge IS GOD......well after Willie Miller

  • I first saw this 17 yrs ago around a mates house. I thought I would never see it again . This track and video had a massive influence on me, a weddoes fan from that second on. Dave Gedge is a fucking great bloke.
