Haha, the only things Mr.Al Gore mixed up is the rootcause and the symptom. Warmth was first, then CO2 went up, and not the opposite way as he presented. The complete CO2 emission control is just a good practice (but costs us some billion dollars) to keep poor countries to be poor in the future too.
I am a TED fanatic - and have on my youtube channel - in personal order after watching well over 700+!!! of them - my top 2 playlists with a great running order... there is also a carl sagan complete playlist, arthur c clarke and loads of other hand picked documentaries and debates and art and cultural videos... click on my user name, MrDespo3, have a look round and welcome to despo television & please subscribe and vibe!
@screenflicker1 I'm sure many others would too. They were the 10 most popular on the TED site. I felt that the video would act as a good introduction for those that were new to TED and that it would hopefully encourage them to find out more.
@Naymad These were the ten most popular talks, presumably in terms of online views or downloads. Naturally this means that many gifted and fascinating speakers will have been missed out, but it's always useful to have some suggestions on what's missing from this kind of thing. Cheers for your contribution - shall go and check some of their talks out.
FYI: names of presenters featured in this video: Al Gore, Climate Change Expert Sir Ken Robinson, Creativity Expert Jill Bolte Taylor, Neuroscientist Jeff Han, Inventor David Gallo, Oceanographer Arthur Benjamin, Mathemagician Blaise Aguera y Arcas, Software Architect Johnny Lee, Inventor Tony Robbins, Life Coach Hans Rosling, Global Health Expert
Although he has clearly profited handsomely from the creation of global carbon markets (which are an attempt to make money out of nothing and continue with business as usual), he's still done plenty to raise awareness of the damage that human populations have been doing to the natural environment.
I think he's therefore a valid voice to listen to, though certainly not beyond reproach. Still, we all have contradictions and flaws to our characters somewhere - it's part of what makes us human.
those were the favorites? ugh
