ashnertan, beautiful little dog, the historical Cavalier lozenge dating back to King Charles II is very clear to be seen on the little dogs head,it also shows how friendly and sociable these spaniels are ( well all spaniels are ) but the cavalier re-writes the rules, beautiful friendly and cuddly little dogs to a fault, perfect.

Sorry i couldnt post it all at once lol. Anyways, He told us that someone he knows is breeding a ckcs! He said in the next week or so, he will find out if the dog is pregnant or not. My parents aggreed to get one since im saving up for my birthday saturday. Im hoping the dog will be pregnant! He told us it would be ready to take home by the end of December. I've been waiting for this moment! Phew, that was long. Well, wish me luck.

Very hard to get to sleep with him licking my face. Also, he loves sun cream. He licks where ever I have had sun cream.

Hey, I have ckcs named Charlie. He's about 1.5 years old (human years) and he looks exactly like a ckcs except his snout is longer. And are ckcs supposed to be medium sized at this time? Cause he is like...90 cm long and 35 cm tall. Is that normal? And my real question is, what mix is he?

*lol* thnx for viewing my video. i'm no expert at dogs, but i'll try my best. from your description, it may well be a ckcs. yoyo, at 1.5yrs old was 'full- length' already. but i guess a picture will be more accurate to determine if he is a purebreed or a mix.

That certainly does not sound like a purebred Cavalier!!!!!! Although there are a few dogs out there that are incredibly big!!! The Cavalier is not based on a height or length basis, they are actually based on weight. The Breed standard for a Cavalier states they should weigh between 5.4 - 8.1 kilograms.

getting a pet is a commitment & a personal choice. nothing is much happier to see your pet wagging its tail when you walked in the door. if you can take time to train your pet & take care of him (during your free time), then why not? many of my friends' pets are alone during the daytime too!

hm actually i have 1 more question, I have read about this breed and the part where it shouldn't stay home alone for a long period of time, thats gunna be a problem for me but if i were to leave it by itself what would happen? like would it go crazy?

like i previously mentioned, ckcs is an active breed. it's ideal if you can take him out for a jog/ walk daily. if left alone, some may whine. some may start biting furnitures/ papers, or get destructive.

it will not go 'crazy' ...if you can't bring him out daily, you may have to play with him indoors for about 30mins- 1hour? why? because, it's a passionate dog :p he needs attention, love & activities.

you are a responsible boy. you have actually read up on the breed. its very impressive. not many people will do that. i hope you'll get a pet soon :) alternatively, you can buy a 'nylabone' dental bone to keep him busy while you're away.

*LOL* the one question that vexes parents is: will you be always at home (other than your schooling hours) to take care/ train your pet?

you see, parents usually don't want additional responsibilities & expenses. if you can make sure that you will play with your pet, clean up all the mess, clear the poo & pee, bathe the pet, walk your pet,take your pet to the vet whenever necessary, etc....i think your parents will definately agree to it!

and don't forget to read up on ckcs. they are usually an over- friendly & actvie breed! if you want a pet & be able to commit to personal responsibilities, then you & your pet will be a happy couple!

*LOL* when i just adopted her last year, i was trying to determine her bad breath, foul ears, heavy shedding, skin allergies, etc...even when i bathed her once a week, cleaned her ears daily....so, i've change her food/ diet several times, & even water. now, i've found a new dog food which is suitable for her. she has since stopped shedding, her ears normal, her bad breath gone, & skin allergies disappeared....So, yes!!! i'm keeping her fur :) thnx for the concern!

had wanted her on BARF diet, but decided against it as the neighboring countries has cases of H5N1/ avian flu on & off...95% of our food source are imported. that's why. although our country are very thorough on these checks, i didn't want to take that chance, besides it's not that fresh anyway.
