Apparently sometime in the future Konami will release a Dissidia-type game of Castlevania. All of the playable characters from the Belmont bloodline will be there as well as adult versions of child characters such as Maria and Carrie (who strangely wears the same outfit).

If you know what you're doing, Reinhardt is actually a much quicker way to play through the game, albeit the more difficult character. This is because he can attack rapidly, thus killing boss characters exceptionally fast (even on hard mode) with a fully powered weapon.

Speaking with the authority of an olde school, retro gaming Castlevania 1-4 veteran, I can confidently ask.. Why the frick didn't people enjoy this game? I borrowed my friend's N64 to play this! Maybe I'm just biased because of my love for Castlevania, but I quite liked it. It had some cool bosses( important for Castles )& was basically just Castles in 3D. I was on PSX at this point & was disappointed that SOTN had us play with this sword slahing Alucard dude. And no 3D!?.. 64 was entertaining.

Maybe, but if the game only appeals to people like us then its not going to be successful. Besides this doesn't exactly have the same feel as really any other Castlevania game.

If you ask me though then Legacy of Darkness was the underated game. If I'm not mistaken it got a worse rating than C64 since critics thought it was basically a repeat, but it clearly got many changes, a lot of which were improvements in addition to more gameplay.

i Loved this game, can't believe it was voted worst transition from 2D! My favourite memories are the girl painting the roses with blood and the Shining rip-off in the garden maze. Fantastic (if, in hindsight, fairly cheesy)!
