  • it is not related to Radha OR krishna chaap means the personality or chavvi.

  • @saifmohdsidd brother chaap is ring -angoothi

  • @saifmohdsidd Khusrau lived in the Braj area. It is highly likely he was influenced by the spirituality of the area. There is nothing wrong with that. Hindus and Muslims have a lot to OFFER to each other.

  • Translation...

You've taken away my looks, my identity, by just a glance.

By making me drink the wine of love-potion,

    You've intoxicated me by just a glance;

My fair, delicate wrists with green bangles in them,

Have been held tightly by you with just a glance.

I give my life to you, Oh my cloth-dyer,

You've dyed me in yourself, by just a glance.

I give my whole life to you Oh, Nijam,

You've made me your bride, by just a glance...

  • We were so fortunate Nusrat saab we born in your time and had pleasure to listen your quwalis

  • By the way the language is in fact Purab'bii..(as in Purab)

Amir Khusraw was Turk. He was the deciple of Sultan ul-Hind Hz.Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya since the age of 8. Khusraw grew up in Delhi where Farsi was the language of the elite and Purabbi was the language of the commoner. He did poetry in both Farsi and Purabbi and is considered by many as the father of Urdu.

  • Simply amazing performance;

  • he will be always be legend even for the future generations.

  • nobody will ever be able to sing like him again.. simply brilliant

  • I came to know that Amir Khusarao was a Hindu musician. LAter he was forcefully made to change his relegion to Islam.

  • well i dont agree with that coz as far as i know and as i read in history books, Ameer Khusru was a Muslim and even his family tree reveals the fact. even though I don't agree with his way of thinking and philosophy as it mostly based upon Sufism which is not Islam but still he was a music genius and I have lots of respect for him as an artist that he was.

  • I consider Sufism as a advance state of Islam. Sufism is more practical and scientific form of Islam. Islam doesnt think beyond Heaven and Hell;whereas Sufism beleives in Union of devotee and God. Fanatic Islamis can learn a lot from Sufism to attain peace.

  • it doesnt makes any difference till the time u like this song

  • am agree to you Zainab

  • rip, v all miss u..!!the nxt generation is unlucky 4 not being there in his times...

  • kia bat hay

  • HE the man!!!!

  • Mashallah, the pen in the hand of Hazrat Ameer Khusro (ra) was a mighty weapon

  • diffrent peopls have diffrent thinking about this but what i learn is that he was in love with the way shown by his peer he was given the glimpse of the truth of live the straight path towards ALLAH where he learnt the truth of life ... he even said that he wanted to be drenched in the colour of truth that even the charms of world couldnt distract him from the path which was shown by hazarat nizam uddin olya ....... !!!

  • Ultimately devine!!

  • Only humans can take something as beautiful as this renedition of Hazrat Amir Khusrau by the legendary UNFAK and turn it into an auditorium of debate. I would think it enough just to lavish in its beauty both of the writer and singer

  • this hindi gazal is creation of Sufi Darwesh Hazrat Ameer Khusro (RA) he was in love of Khowaja Nizamuddin Olya (RA). sufis have no religion, they have only love, love n love.... sufism is a universal thought. it has various dimensions, in islam, hinduism, christianity, jewism etc the sufism is followed by their own ways but the theme is the same.....

  • Mr Dadrocks, if you read up on SUFISM you wud have found SUFISM is as old as ISLam, and no one calls sufis as heretics except new reformist groups and for your information, majority of muslims in the world follow SUfism lol, this is not religious or thingof Islam because, for your information REILIGOUS IMAGERY can be found in all religions and is not unique to /hinduism, & sometimes der can be commanalities in religions & this should be seen as takin as the original source is ONE Allah, OOm,

  • excuse my ignorance but can someone

pls tell me the rough meaning of this

    wonderful qawwali

  • You've taken away my looks, my identity, by just a glance.

By making me drink the wine from the distillery of love

    You've intoxicated me by just a glance;

My fair, delicate wrists with green bangles in them,

Have been held tightly by you with just a glance.

I give my life to you, Oh my cloth-dyer,

You've dyed me in yourself, by just a glance.

I give my whole life to you Oh, Nijam,

You've made me your bride, by just a glance

  • thank you very much INNERCONFLICT1

    appreciate.....kind rgds jr

  • K I N G O F M U S I C - Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

No singer can ever be born like him. May Allah bless him in Jannah

  • Mr Dadarock if you did your research, nothing such as Qawwali existed but it were the Bhajans and the kirtan style taken from Qawwali and AMir Khusrau finilished its final setting. Even the Sants and Bhagats who began to preach oneness of oneness instead of many gods (no offence) was due to the monotheistic influences of Islam as history records it... but Both hindus and Muslims need to wake up and like as brothers because we are human, nothing more or less, we are born and die

  • Agree with u mate....he needs to do some researchh...

  • Akam satyam vipra bahudha vadanti .. this message of hinduiism is older than islam..

Each and every word of this poem is in setting of some girl's love for her lover and I am afraid even langauge is brajbhasha and itis classic rass leela song.. Why would a muslim would consider hsi gurur his lover.. if ti makes you feel better go ahead think whatever you like to.. If anythign sufis were influence by hidnuims.. so much so sufis were declaed heretic in arba country in past

  • @always001 I'm sorry, but your first part is completely wrong. Bhajans and Kirtans have a history of at least 5,000 years. Hinduism is over 5,000 years old, and has always preached the idea of ONE God. The idea of 'many' Gods is a recent concept, and has been misinterpreted by many people. But I agree with your main point - Hindus and Muslims are brothers, we do need to wake up from our sectarian problems and embrace what we have in common - love of God. That was the main message of Sufism

  • man wid gr8 talent..cant b described in words...awesome!!!

  • just heard Richa Sharma and now this...2 best of the best...

  • awsme man.... hey does ne1 hv da qawali sung by JANI BABU QAWAL.....WO EK BHOLI SI LADKI HAIN MAIN JISSE PYAR KARTA HU... PLIZ CNE1 UPLOAD DT 4 ME

  • applause applause applause...GR8 NIZAMUDDIN AULIYA GR8 AMEER KHUSRO & GR8 NFAK...LOVE IT

  • In fact Nusrat Sahabb is a genious, its a gift from the Almighty, however talletchie sahabb we would be vey happy to know more about the "Braj Basha",if only u may give us certain info it would be good. thxs a lot janaab

  • Braj Bhasha is a dialect of Hindi spoken by people in Braj - the mythological place where Lord Krishna grew up. Braj is in present day Uttar Pradesh in Northern India.

  • The genius of Nusratjee can be seen here, this poem by Khusro is not in his mother tongue, its in Braj Bhasha of India which is my mother tongue, but he still gives such a superb performance! Most of Khusro's work is in Braj Bhasha, Pakistanis and Indian Muslims should stop becoming more and more Arabic and learn more about their heritage like this too.

  • well said.. it's fusion of krishna bhakti by gopika and khusro's allah bhakti.. you will get glimpse of both sufi bhakti movment coming together

  • OH plz... thats B S.... Ameer khusroo poems were all on Nizamuddin ... there is no such thing fusion of krishna bhakti. or anything else...

  • @talltechie thanks for sharing...please if u translate..in simple urdu/Hindi..helpful for all

  • @talltechie

good to know tht..however let me just clear one thing..tht who told u tht muslims of pak and ind dont like to speak their own languages...i think not even 5 percent ppl of pak know arabic, but 90 percent ppl kno their local languages like punjabi, pashtu, sindhi, balochi, urdu, hindi, memani, and so on....

    regards,

  • @GabbruPunjabi Urdu is derived from Arabic and Farsi. so when you speak urdu you notice many many words are also in the arabic language and have been integrated into Urdu.

  • @sabihusmani

i agree urdu is a sweet and colorful misture of many languages like everyother language...no language of the world is pure...every language has an abiliy to integrate foreign words...thts"s y even the words like GURU and Hirasment are even integrated in English while they have pure urdu/hindi origin...word chai(tea) and shawl are same in german, urdu, hindi, persian, and turkish...so there is a mixture of cultures n languages everywhere....

  • @GabbruPunjabi the mixture of cultures in English, and German is different then that of Urdu. Urdu consists of Arabic and Farsi, Urdu didnt just take some words like that of english and german which u have stated above. Urdu will cease to exist if you take away arabic and farsi.

  • @sabihusmani

    ok agreed.....wht else u want?

cheeers man...this is song of nusrat...not fkin lingual lecture...

  • @GabbruPunjabi i dont want anything except that people make accurate statements ones that are based on facts and logic.

  • @sabihusmani

dear i never say anything without logic..for the timebeing im just not in a mood to start a useless discussion...othewise i kno wht to say....u perhaps not aware of me thts y u r just underestimating situation....so better just cheer up and enjoy the song...n leave this lingual disucssion for some other time on some other forum....peace!

  • @GabbruPunjabi if you know wat to say then Speak up! other then tht dont make statements about languages you know nothing about.

  • @sabihusmani

punjabi is my mother tongue....urdu is my national language....ask wht u wanna ask?otherwise dont try to mess arround with those whome u know nothing about !!!

  • @talltechie DEAR FRIEND U MUST KNOW THAT THE LANGUAGE URDU AND HINDI HAVE SAME ORIGIN AND AMIR KHUSRO WAS ONE OF THE FIRST POET OF URDU/HINDI

  • @atiullah97 no Urdu is derived from arabic, Farsi and Turkish, while Hindi is derived from Sanskrit. They are different languages especially when written and spoken properly.

  • @sabihusmani both hindi language and urdu language have interlinked history.u can read an article on developement of hindustani language on wikipedia. u just type "hindustani language". please read the article and clear ur doubts

  • @atiullah97 first of Wikipedia is not a trustworthy site. Ask any Academic professional and they will tell you that. Second I repeat what I said about Urdu, Urdu is derived from Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish, while Hindi is derived from Sanskrit. If YOU HAVE DOUBTS go clear them by going to India and speaking to older generation and looking at true historical documents regarding the two languages.

  • @sabihusmani both you and @atiullah are correct. In script its derived from Arabic....other wise in spoken terms...vocab etc...its a confluence of Hindi and persian.

Lot of Khari Boli...the hindi that we speak in northern plains has words derived from Urdu.

  • @kapsbajaj This song is in BRAJ ... Wrods styel, everything is in BRAJ, the way Nasarat fateh ali khan sung it. So many bhajans sung in BRAJ in MATHURA and near by areas.

  • @mukut5ul : If you start getting into local dilects yes. Khusaroo's work has been in Braj.

  • @talltechie Our true heritage lies with the Arab World as far as muslims are concerned. Thats something no one can change or challenge.

  • @talltechie Thank God thru music we do find our common heritage

  • @talltechie that's so racist........we're proud of our heritage and being Arabic has a lot to do with our spiritual thing...every culture or religion/language deserves respect:)

  • Alhamdulillah...what a legend:)

  • soooooo beautiful

  • A True Master
