Leaving the tail outside the loops will create an inferior knot known as a "Dutch Bowline" or a "Cowboy Bowline". The knot will not be as strong as a proper bowline. Thank you for the compliment :)
30 secs into the video you say that on a proper bowline, the end of the tail is on the inside. Why is that? Our station tells us that it should be on the outside. I'm curious to which one is right, or they can both be right but what are the reasons for one on the outside and one on the inside? What's the difference?
