My first ever flight was in a Morton Air Services DH Dove from Gatwick to Isle of Wight (yes IOW) there was a summer service in 1966. I was a babe in arms then and that's when the aviation bug bit. I would love to fly in a Dove again in the UK; are there any still around?
In 1979 I served as Director of Stations for Swift Aire Lines in San Luis Obispo, Ca. and at that time we operated three (3) DH-114 Herons (no Rolls Royce motors for us ~ we flew 'em with 230 HP Lycoming engines and 2-blade screws ~ but the Herons did have 4 motors vs. the Dove's twin configuration.) I spent alot of time flying up & down California in the old 114's, we operated with a 15 seat configuration; 7 per side plus one (centered) in the back. No A/C either ~ it got HOT in summertime!
