This is without question, the cutest bird. We go every weekend and visit this bird. You go in the front entrance, and hang a hard right, down past the pond, the bus loading and then there is a little cage, most ignore it, my son who is 8 stands and watches this sweet bird and his eyes fill with tears. We love this bird so much.
Very good. Much better to see them like this, than stuffed or skin speciemns. I was just wondering how rails are highly faded to go extinct in the wild, just checking the recently extinct birds list, and Islands rails are on top, cause they're endemic to places with few ground predators like cats and dogs. Lucky to have these ones still alive. good work

Thanks
Their decline resulted from predatory snakes that hitched a ride on human cargo

I would have rated this 5 stars..... You need one on the fruit bats of Guam. Great video, not everyone has seen the Guam Rail. Thanks.

Thanks. On my next visit I'll see if the SD Zoo houses any Guam fruit bats :)

You should come to Guam. I have a clip of a Guam Rail at Earth Day on Guam. Fruit Bats would be cool.

I'll add it to my list of places to visit! I have an Earth Day Group I created - take a look & add any related videos if you wish.
